I think the price is not what makes this watch a good deal. It is in fact a really good watch. As a watch collector, I have many watches, digital, quartz analog, and automatics but F-91 became my favorite one as soon as I got it. It is light and insanely comfortable, hands down the most accurate of all my watches, I've read many reviews of this one when people claimed the battery can last up to 10+ years and once it dies just replace it and the watch keeps marching. One guy even has F91 thats 20 years old and still works perfectly fine.

I own my F91w from the year 2000. I was in hight scool. I wear It in university and during my military service. And now i wear it when i go to the job. It still work amazingly well.
I'd actually consider these to be a good military watch, The dim light is an upside when you're trying to check the time at night on the battlefield and you aren't trying to give away your position with a vibrant orange/blue blue. The dim green is perfect for not getting sniped in the face while looking at your watch
It has more features or "complications" than most mechanical watches. We brag about vintage and luxury watches but imagine people 100 years ago, they'd choose this Casio over any over. Today, mechanical watches are jewels and nostalgic time pieces, not tools.
what is people's obsession with packaging? I just need the package to protect its content, nothing more. I do not need a package made of leather gold or any other crap like that. fancy packaging just increases the price of the product and there is no use for the fancy packaging.

mine is around 5yrs old and i still wear it more than my other awesome automatic or better watches. Its soo thin,light and trust worthy. I took it swimming 10 times...water got in it...it dried and continued working perfectly and ima swim with it tomorrow haha. Its pretty darn cheap so you wont cry if it dies.
On the basis that it was a $10 watch and it didn't matter if it broke, I decided to swim with mine. It was fine. I now swim with it every week, and it's absolutely fine. The alarm doesn''t work until it dries out again, but it doesn't seem to bother it. It keeps a lot better time than my expensive watches, that's for sure!
A watch can’t really be too small. You’ll like what you’re used to. The looks are so cool. If you’ve ever worn anything vintage you might understand. A man is not measured by the size of his watch.

The Casio F-91W was the watch issued to the celebrities that appeared on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. I think it can take a lot more abuse than it gets credit for. Those celebrities were jumping out of helicopters into a lake and swimming back to shore etc etc.
Pretty durable, I had one finally glitch out after working around water for 5+ years of use, I assumed it was dead when the screen turned off ,so curiously I took it apart and wiped the water out of it and let it dry for about 10 minutes ,long story short its working and on my wrist again, so if it does fail/ get water in it then it may still work after a cleaning.

At first I thought I have the Kids version or something because it is so tiny, but Im pretty sure its meant to be this way. We are all used to wearing big watches... 36mm horizontal 38mm vertical... (I got the W-59 version though, 50m water resist)
I’ve always owned g shocks but switched to classic Casio digital watches because of their size and comfort day to day. I’ll wear a g shock if I know I need the shock resistance or 200m. Otherwise, I’m wearing my f105 or w201.
The accuracy on these things can be amazing. It is too small for me, so I just keep on on my desk at home as a time source for all my other watches. This stable temperature probably helps, but it only gains 1 second every month and a half to 2 months, so long that it is hard to keep track lol.
Probably the most iconic Casio watch anywhere in the world, totally reliable and unobtrusive and so comfortable to wear. I have the stainless steel version. If anyone considers it a bit small it might be worth looking at a Casio 800W which is larger and is 100M water resistant.
If you spend five bucks more you can get the W86 which is water resistant to 50m and has a way better illuminator backlight. These cheap Casios are revolutionary in terms of getting accurate, robust, cheap watches on the wrists of anyone who needs it.

Like many of the Turkish youth. These watches seen some military service and still used. Here in Turkey people won't understand when you say F-91W, but when you ask about "military watch" they get it. Proboably I will use this for my military service. I am currently using it in College. Got this more expensive which cost in normal times. I needed a watch urgently and got this one. There is a problem though. Glass is not that durable. I have a scratch on my glass now and it is annoying. If anyone knows how to get rid of it, please help me out. Strap is silicone but can be replaced with metal, leather, or Nato straps. I learn Japanese in a course, and teachers are Japanese, they really liked it when they saw it on my wrist since the watch is Japanese - even though it was assembled in Thailand -. Easy to use and simple. It is really good to wear and look at when you are in stress, because its bloody simple using it in College. Some people see it especially young girls ugly. For some reason. But I think it gives me impression of Ethan Hunt or Mike Knight. It spits out the impression of 90's and 80's. For some reason, it gives me some confidence boost.
I'm from algeria . I got mine in 2000, i used it in hy school, university and militarry service. After 19 years, I still wear it for job. I Just changed the battery after 16 years (in 2016) and the strap à couple of times. I agree with you It's a very good militarry watch. The AK 47 of watches.
I have some expensive Casio watches ..but I wear the casio F91W ..why ? ..it is lightweight and thin and does not catch on things.(it is also very cheap) the main let down is the night backlight which is a very weak green on the left side only. Carry a torch and you should be ok.
Just a heads up... If it says made in Japan then it might be a fake as the original Casio watches where made in china. There are lots of fakes on ebay and amazon and they are really hard to tell compared to the originals. Also if you press the single button on the right hand side of the watch for a few seconds it should display Casio on the watch display if it is a genuine casio watch.

I think in order to get past the ISO standard it passed it had to survive getting the buttons pressed for 10 minutes while submerged under 10 cm of water. People do swim and even dive a couple meters with it without problems. Or if you really want to dive deeper with it, fill it with Extra Virgine Olive Oil and it reportedly can withstand depths of 940 ish meters. (Somebody that works on an oil rig tied it to some part and sent it down for 4 days!)
The F91W is much more comfortable than a G-shock. It's a super watch and fits my man wrist just right. You hardly know it's there - the way a watch should be.
Far more comfortable than a G Shock and probably shares toughness enough to last a long time. I don't have the 91 but I will be getting one. I have the 105 and it is about the right size on my skinny wrist. I'm just tired of the huge watches. It makes no sense for me to wear a tank on my wrist. I'm just not that active. I do understand that a ton of folks that do like them. Casio certainly has enough designs to appeal to just about everyone. I have a G Shock but it never gets any wrist time. 91 and 105 for me. I also like the 1400 series.
My favorite affordable Casio in this style is the W-720-T, slightly larger than the F91 and with a broader wrist band. Also 10 BAR WR, a timer, dual time. But same crappy light :(. It was a little over twice the price of the F91 but worth it. It got little attention though, is discontinued and they seem pretty rare. I wear mine often but try to not get it damaged too much. Ideal travel/vacation watch because of the 10 BAR and dual time. Also, it's the most accurate watch I ever owned, only about 2-4 seconds per month too fast! But it could be I simply got lucky with this particular quartz crystal. I would buy any new one right away and feel it is worth at least $40.
IIRC it was only in production for 1 or 2 years, introduced in 2009, I bought mine in 2011 in The Netherlands. (still running on the original lithium battery) I think it's very strange it was not more popular than it was because it has a nice feature set while still very affordable. I wish they would re-introduce it but with the illuminator lighting.
In Europe you do not use am/pm on watches..., nothing to do with military, all radio/tv magazines or railroad tables etc, appointment lists, use normal time, and never am/pm.
I'm not knocking casio. I have 3 including 2 G-shocks, but what is amazing about the quality and features here? Literally, every digital watch has operated basically the same since 1983. I get that it's classic and a Casio (reliable), but the $5 digital watch in Walmart probably at least has the same features or more if it has a timer and may be as accurate. I've had the same thoughts looking at my G-shock by the way. Did I really pay more because it might handle getting run over by a truck?
I don’t know why people complain about the backlight. I mean it doesn’t light up like a timex indiglo but you can most definitely see the whole screen...it’s just a dated backlight which adds to its charm imo

Please allow me to make a small correction, as most people seem to think the F-91W was released in 1991......it wasn't. I’m not certain if this F91W model of watch will be discontinued but they did recently improve the design. It’s a bit bigger, has better water resistance (50m) has a better strap and the backlight is 100x times better. The look is nearly identical. It’s called the W217H, and I’m loving mine. The alarm is also the loudest of all my Casio watches and I have a couple of fancy G-SHOCKS. It’s only a few dollars more than the F91W, and I would choose it any day of the week. I wear it around the house when I’m doing chores. Perfect for mowing the lawn, cooking, cleaning and dish duty.

Likely new generation, green LED vs incandescent light. I remember my old watches in the 80's were incandescent lighting. If your watch with incandescent lighting still works you have a vintage! Lucky you! I'd suggest buy a new and swap out the new watch module and replace with your old or leave as is and you'll have the two versions, what a conversation piece! Good luck

I bought the China fake of it for two dollars and it's awesome for so damned cheap! It is gun metal grey and has a metal band which is really comfortable to wear! (seriously Casio take a hint!) and with a good battery it keeps really good time and the battery is not difficult to replace if you know what you are doing!! You can tell battery life by how bright the back light is, with a good real battery it is super bright but if it gets dark replace it and your watch will keep good time.
Battery lasts 7 years , can wear it in the shower , don't know you're wearing it , and nobody wants to steal it , what more do you want?

It is a small watch compared to more contemporary pieces but you get used to it.
When I first opened my Casio I honestly thought my wife ordered the children’s watch by mistake lol but getting used to it!

after I bought my watch I immediately apply a plastic screen protector the one we use for smartphones it keeps my watch scratchless

The original F-91W was introduced in 1991. Its design has not changed since it was first released 28 years ago.

The F91W is much more comfortable than a G-shock. It's a super watch and fits my man wrist just right. You hardly know it's there - the way a watch should be.
Far more comfortable than a G Shock and probably shares toughness enough to last a long time. I don't have the 91 but I will be getting one. I have the 105 and it is about the right size on my skinny wrist. I'm just tired of the huge watches. It makes no sense for me to wear a tank on my wrist. I'm just not that active. I do understand that a ton of folks that do like them. Casio certainly has enough designs to appeal to just about everyone. I have a G Shock but it never gets any wrist time. 91 and 105 for me. I also like the 1400 series.
I can confirm they dont come always in such cheap package, Mine came in real watch case which is handy since you can put your expensive watch in it.
A168 is not a metal watch. None of the digital casios has a metal case. They are all chrome plated plastic.

My favorite affordable Casio in this style is the W-720-T, slightly larger than the F91 and with a broader wrist band. Also 10 BAR WR, a timer, dual time. But same crappy light :(. It was a little over twice the price of the F91 but worth it. It got little attention though, is discontinued and they seem pretty rare. I wear mine often but try to not get it damaged too much. Ideal travel/vacation watch because of the 10 BAR and dual time. Also, it's the most accurate watch I ever owned, only about 2-4 seconds per month too fast! But it could be I simply got lucky with this particular quartz crystal. I would buy any new one right away and feel it is worth at least $40.

IIRC it was only in production for 1 or 2 years, introduced in 2009, I bought mine in 2011 in The Netherlands. (still running on the original lithium battery) I think it's very strange it was not more popular than it was because it has a nice feature set while still very affordable. I wish they would re-introduce it but with the illuminator lighting.

In Europe you do not use am/pm on watches..., nothing to do with military, all radio/tv magazines or railroad tables etc, appointment lists, use normal time, and never am/pm.

I'm not knocking casio. I have 3 including 2 G-shocks, but what is amazing about the quality and features here? Literally, every digital watch has operated basically the same since 1983. I get that it's classic and a Casio (reliable), but the $5 digital watch in Walmart probably at least has the same features or more if it has a timer and may be as accurate. I've had the same thoughts looking at my G-shock by the way. Did I really pay more because it might handle getting run over by a truck?

I don’t know why people complain about the backlight. I mean it doesn’t light up like a timex indiglo but you can most definitely see the whole screen...it’s just a dated backlight which adds to its charm imo

이동원 thanks for watching. Regarding your question, I guess anything is possible but I doubt it will be discontinued anytime soon. I'd bet this is Casio's best selling watch, and it's been around since 1991. Unless it stops selling I'm ire it will stay in production.
Please allow me to make a small correction, as most people seem to think the F-91W was released in 1991......it wasn't. I’m not certain if this F91W model of watch will be discontinued but they did recently improve the design. It’s a bit bigger, has better water resistance (50m) has a better strap and the backlight is 100x times better. The look is nearly identical. It’s called the W217H, and I’m loving mine. The alarm is also the loudest of all my Casio watches and I have a couple of fancy G-SHOCKS. It’s only a few dollars more than the F91W, and I would choose it any day of the week. I wear it around the house when I’m doing chores. Perfect for mowing the lawn, cooking, cleaning and dish duty.
Thanks. I'm want the W217H because of larger numbers and better backlight than my F91W. Glad you mentioned the alarm is louder, better for travel. Unfortunately its a bit thicker too.
Do you know why there are differences in ligths colors? For example, country of origen etc.. Because my f91w its original, and have the yellow ligth on it, made in thailand. I saw that they have green ligth to like Your watch in the video. ¿Any Idea?

Likely new generation, green LED vs incandescent light. I remember my old watches in the 80's were incandescent lighting. If your watch with incandescent lighting still works you have a vintage! Lucky you! I'd suggest buy a new and swap out the new watch module and replace with your old or leave as is and you'll have the two versions, what a conversation piece! Good luck

I bought mine on a whim and I’m waiting for it to get here tomorrow. But, I paid more for postage and packing than for the actual watch itself, tax and all that! Damn shipping :( Regardless, it’s a 16€ watch and does the job I guess !
Funny how these opinions goes. IMO that F-91W looked better on your wrist than the 007 or the 5600 in the other video. Plus they are waaaay more bulgier compared to the F-91W, what is a huge con for me.

i bought an casio f91w online the the country of origin is Thailand as indicated in the stainless steel back but the resin band was from china indicated in the buckle. is this an authentic casio that i got into?

Got mine at 12$ in india, but it’s kinda look ridiculously tiny on my wrist, maybe cuz I measure 183~ cms.
Given that fact it dose not look bad.

I bought the China fake of it for two dollars and it's awesome for so damned cheap! It is gun metal grey and has a metal band which is really comfortable to wear! (seriously Casio take a hint!) and with a good battery it keeps really good time and the battery is not difficult to replace if you know what you are doing!! You can tell battery life by how bright the back light is, with a good real battery it is super bright but if it gets dark replace it and your watch will keep good time.
Do you think this watch can run for decades? Because i think there is not really much that movement to it.
