Just goes to show - you don't need to be rich to own a design classic. They also come in different case colours (Blue, Green, Silver and Gold), too. I love mine because it's so thin and light, and a pleasant change when I get bored with carrying conspicuous hunks of metal on my wrist.
These watches are superb, accurate, easy to read, light on the wrist and extremely affordable. I recently purchased a new one for only £5, and that was including delivery, it's genuine and looks great, my last f91w died after 6 years of continuous use, fabulous watch👍
How do you know it is genuine..? did you remove the back and examine the module, which is the biggest tell tale There are many fakes sold at very low process..genuine ones are more expensive.ps i bought 2 fakes from ebay.at low prices.
i used to be a reseller of this watch at one point in my life, you wouldn't believe you could survive with just selling f91, yes just this one watch lol. people buy loads of them.
Just found this vid, great review. I've had mine for about 15 years, still on the original battery. Think i paid 7 quid for it from Argos. Bought a genuine casino strap for it last year for £8.99 just couldn't bring myself to buy a new watch as ive had it so long. Best value watch ever. 🤣
I think this was basically a stripped-down budget version of the early 80s Casio Marlins and such, which sold for a good deal more money for the most part. I had one of the black plastic Marlins basic models in 79-81 or so I recall wearing it at summer day camp etc. and swimming with it on.
I have many digital watches (mostly G Shocks) but I like most of all compared to other watches (size, weight and simplicity aside) is that it has a surprisingly crisp and clear display. I’ve never found another display which looks as clear and can still be viewed at extreme angles. It’s just such a beautiful, functional, understated, unpretentious design, as well as being durable and accurate, at a stupidly cheap price.
Great little watch apart from the plastic straps breaking. I remember my dad having 5 or 6 broken ones in a drawer all coz of the straps breaking but the watches themselves just kept working for ever. And they are more water resistant than 30m
I own two but the F91 does look a bit funny on my 8.5 wrist even on a nato strap . I enjoy the nostalgia factor behind these watches . My first casio watch was a back in 1983 for my 10th birthday and I have been hooked on them ever since.
I still have it from 1991. It needs a battery and it's ready to go again. But I am seriously thinking of buying another one because the old one has a lot of scratches. So many memories. Thanks for this review.
Why does holding the button for 3 seconds prove it’s not a fake? If a cloner could reproduce everything else couldn’t they just make it say Casio if held for 3 seconds? I just ordered one on amazon and I never fully trust amazon for authentic stuff since anyone can send boxes of whatever there for fulfillment and it just gets mixed in with the rest of the supplies. I’m not too concerned in this case considering the price. I was just curious.
i saw a teardown video, the original and the fake are very different inside. It is possible that there is a simple component within the module that permits the program to display the CASIo logo, and that having that in a generic knockoff module wouldn't be cost effective given that the cost difference between watches is just a couple of dollars
Actually, this one is a g-shock under cover: 1) very reliable; 2) simple to operate; 3) cheap (not completely sure about this - half of the price of my electricity bill); 4) Immortal one - brake it, and just take another one witch is the same - a save game watch.
Excellent Review. It's reliable strong. Has little downsides. You can put it on silent mode. Buttons can be unintentionally pressed. 24h clock and 12h too. Low cost. Can produce glare in tactical situations. Light is good for tactical situations won't be seen. In hot weather or arduous work the strap can make you sweat and making it uncomfortable after prolonged periods. I recommend a canvas strap version fits the wrist better and is breathable, it also dries quick after a shower 50m WR. The watch is like the Nokia 6610 an excellent designed that is minimal and does the job.
Got mine fromEbay 5.99usd free shipping brand new, never used. Not even a one time deal there are thousands of reviews and tens of thousands of orders delivered.
water gets into it when pushing the buttons in the shower. i like that its flatt on the wrist, easy wear and i like these classic casio watches, i'm tempted to buy this casio, but the lack of water resistance is a problem. i keep my watch always on my wrist and wash it in the shower, cant have a watch that damages when pushing the buttons in the shower. i have another casio that is water resistant when pushing the buttons but it doesnt has that cool factor, that great classic look of the f91w. if casio only would make the f91w exactly same and fix that problem, it should be waterproof even when the buttons are pushed. this would be an awesome watch then, just the time and its on the wrist for a few years till the battery is empty, no hassle, easy wear. I had a casio illuminator, i pushed its light on often, battery lasted 3 1/2 years. i guess if the lights arent switched on at all, then the battery would last maybe 4 1/2 years but thats still a long time for a watch that is like only for 15€. i would like the f91w in babyblue, beside the original in black, wear one as is the mood.
Yeah the WR on these cheaper Casios aren't full proof. I would get a decent GShock I just got the basic square 5600 model and that seems spectacularly solid, and definitely water resistant in a real way. I wouldn't mess with the buttons if you can help it either in shower or swimming, anyway. Just leave it alone!
Buy for nostalgic purposes only ..this watch is not that good by modern standards. Hard to get a genuine one unless you go through Casio or reputable watch sellers who will never deal in fakes.

The other colours are not original. They have an original Casio Module 593 inside, but case and strap are fake
@@lj9655 If that’s the case why are they on the official Casio website?
I am 49 years this year but still come back to this living masterpiece of retro practicality.have the blue, gold, grey pieces.

I have one and the battery is still going strong after 13 years.
the casio F-91w was actually released in 1989. it’s a very common mistake.

Love these, got mine because of the 90s movies lmao, love how small it is and how simple, don’t need a huge ass block on my wrist

Casio watches are the best, price doesn't matter, what matters is the features. Yes this watch is in my collection.

Dude, I'm sure those scratches will make your watch look sexier.
@@maskoff3021 Maybe you are right. I might revive it then.. 🙏 Thanks.
there is a display polish paste, with that the scratches should be gone. i would keep my watch if its that old like from 1991, memories.

I have this watch with the green frame lining, instead of blue. Just bought the yellow one to add to my cheap collection 😁
love the design but i hope they updated the backlight

You can buy them new for £1.99 with free postage, my friend gave me his around a year ago, how long does the battery last for.
Casio says 7 years, but it's not uncommon for them to go 10+.
Where?

Do you shave your wrist just so watch bands won’t pull your hair lol
Is there such thing as a digital homage Watch?
I own 2 certified fake F81W watches both from ebay and they keep very poor time.
great watch.
It's sad nowadays a fake Casio has better light than an original one.
its sooooooooooooooooooooo expensive in saudi arabia
Should I go into a pool with it?
Yes, did this this summer, no problem. If it goes, I figured, its $10.
Don't push buttons under water thou.
Ohh eleven! :D

I highly recommend purchasing the 'FAKE' Casio F-91W to the most impecunious and parsimonious ones.
Still world no one .wacth
Too small. Rubbish light. Straps brake easily. Cheap though. Spend £15, and get the next module up. Bigger text too.
My 91w went through a full hot wash and survived. My step grandson has a 91w now.
