Do you have any customers ask to have the bottom painted silver or beige for a two tone look? Just thinking you wouldn’t have as much stress on paint matching if you already painting the whole bottom of the truck. Just a thought
Hey John, I'm doing the rocker, cab corners, wheel arches of my 2012 F150. It has been fighting me every step of the way. Removing the box liner I needed to take the tie-down anchors off. Well, guess what happened. 6 of the 8 small bolts/screws snapped. I tried drilling the studs out but that's not working and I getting wrecking drill bits. Any thoughts? When I do the wheel arches I was thinking about getting in there with the die grinder and grinding off the nuts and welding some new nuts and backing in. Also with the tie down straps no longer on the box, how should I lift the box off with the engine hoist? No sure how I should anchors then ratchet straps. You're right about those bed bolts being a real pain. I've done 4 so far and 2 of the fold over nuts have snapped so I have to grid the bolt heads off. Any advice on the ratchet straps or how to get the tie down anchors back on is appreciated. Thanks
The last time I had one break off the bolts for the tie down anchors, I drilled them oversized and bolted them with a nut on the back. Unfortunately this makes it more difficult for the next guy….. You should be able to lift from the bed rails, I’ve used C clamps at the corners near the stake pocket holes to hook the straps to in past. Hopefully that helps
Much appreciated John I'll let you know how I make out. Hopefully this weekend I'll start cutting out the old rockers and corner. Unfortunately the bottoms of the front pillars where the fender and rockers meet are in petty rough shape. The rockers i bought dont go that far forward so I'll have to do some fabrication to make them work. I'm off to princess auto today to buy the drill bit sharpener that you have. I'll let you know how I'm progressing. Steve

You should do a video on your custom paint booth. Thanks for another video very helpful
I’m afraid to give away the secrets of my prototype….. 😁😁
I always cut the bed bolts out and break the bolts holding the cargo hooks on trying to get the bed liner out.
Yep, broke 3 of the cargo hook bolts as well. I went into this one hopeful, that last white one I did every bolt came out nicely!
@@Johnnymidnight Had one of your stuck ford tailgates awhile ago, was relacing tailgate but saved the hinge on the truck
This one came off fine, but didn’t have the lift assist spring, maybe something to do with that?
nice video,
Thanks!
Good work 👍
Great video and im definitely going to need one of those shirts. XL👍
You get the friends and family discount 😉
Change the name from midnight auto body to early bird auto body
That’s more fitting these days, but doesn’t sound a cool 😂
for the bolts you can use antisize paste.

Used to be a common thing, haven’t done one like that for a while

I always use Dominion Sure Seal plastic surgery for plastic repairs, really good stuff
