Доброго времени суток, Фил. Интересная ваза. Имеет практическое значение. Но главное интересная обработка. Мне очень понравилось Ваше видео. Спасибо за работу.
Hi Phil you had me laughing everytime you said Scrapapple. The coin dish is really magnificent it will look nice in your camper. The grain is lovely and the bark is lovely. Im always pleased that you keep everything natural and never add anything like resin. I always love your videos I've been watching for ages and I've enjoyed them all. I see the butterfly saw it from the beginning, I see the philbourghy dough boy Thank you for a great video from Amanda take care xx❤❤
That's fun. I like to keep funny coins and store a memory with them. I have one coin that's a penny from when my Grandmother was born in Sweden. 1898 penny. That one I got to pick from a bunch that my other grandparents collected. I once found one of those 1943 steel pennies too. It's a fun thing to do. Here's a giveaway of how young I am, I carry a special coin in my wallet from the year I was born, the only year they made a special 50 cent piece for the bicentennial. I was carrying it as a lucky coin, but mostly if anyone talks about coins, I grab it and show them.
What a cute little dish Phil ! I too , love doing these quick and easy projects . As usual the finish looks superb . Great job Phil . We hope you have a great weekend and week ahead !
Yeah that was a fun little project I think the feed and wax really brings out the best in these pieces not shiny and artificial looking, nice warm glow and of course you can reapply if you need to, bet Tuffy had a smile when he saw it would be personal to you. Good job Phil. 😁
Hi Phil, I’m new to your channel and know nothing about your craft but I am fascinated watching you turn a piece of wood into a work of art. You are a true artist. I love your Scrapapple Tray. 👌👏🏻
LOL😊😊 Here in NJ we have SCRAPPLE.... A breakfast "meat" made of pork "products" and cornmeal and salt & pepper. Great job, both of you... Phil on the lathe, and Tuffy for playing Johny Appleseed +40 yrs ago.
I have said it before...you must use oil or natural gas for heating. There is no way you could ever burn a piece of wood. Love this piece. Keep on smiling
Gas heat but, I do have fireplaces and a fire pit. Even once I put a piece in the pile to be burned, I still look over each piece before I throw it on the fire! 😊
Scrap apple is a catchy phrase! The colors are beautiful, it’s a sweet little change dish. By the way I see an alien face on the bottom of the dish. Love your work ❤
Kudos for trying something new. It worked out great! I wanted to follow up on the Feed and Wax. I love it! Thank you for teaching us about different aspects of wood.
Interesting little bowl.I don't handle cash since Covid. Only to pay my lady that cleans, but very nice for those that do. Great job, Phil! Goes to show what else can be done from the firewood pile.
I agree those Pocket Projects are as you say " fun and easy " You showed us again to never throw any wood sraps away, Phi; can always make somting beautiful out of it. Things dont always have to be large to be a very beautiful piece. You must have been tired when you turned that piece, I looked very hard and I didnt see the the Pilsburry Dough Boy you said you saw , but in the recess i saw a Man with a fluffy little puppie on his head. GOOD JOB Oh well, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. KEEP OPN TURNING (Scap Apple), (Scrap Apple) (Scap Apple) you are right that is fun to say!!!!! I just cant stop from saying it
I like it, now if i had any change..lol. So off tomorrow to go camping at Lake Berryessa, my old stomping grounds and guess what get a load of olive and cork...WooHoo, So keep turning stay healthy and be well. Dennis
Hi there from Canada! I stumbled across your videos recently and have started getting into wood working after seeing your work. I appreciate your videos!!
Your change bowl looked at with the 3 inch side as top and bottom looks like a butterfly. Using the long side as top and bottom it looks like a gingerbread boy. I like it either way.
What a delightful little project. I'm like you Phil, I hate to throw away little scrap pieces of wood because 'you just never know' with them. Odd, quirky little projects may well turn up from time to time. Love the grain & colour, shown up so well by, my favourite Finish, Feed n Wax. Thanks for sharing this one Phil. Stay safe & well mate, cheers, Don from South Aust.
Very cool bowl Phil. Nice use of a small piece of scrap; I'm sure it will serve you well as a change dish. That apple has amazing figure and color, very cool looking. That morse taper cleaner also used to be known as a Green Weenie Morse Taper cleaner. Mike Peace showed one in one of his videos and stated he got it from the same place you got yours so it looks like they are no longer available. One thing that works well (again, based on a Mike Peace video) is a 20 gauge brass bore brush. it fits an MT-2 very well and does a good job of cleaning the taper and is soft enough not to cause damage. I turned a handle for mine.
Cool, Mark! Several people have mentioned using the 20g brass bore brush. Whatever works I always say! OK, I never say that but it sounds reasonable! 😊
Scrap Apple great idea. Guess I will have to make a few for my buddies down here in rain soaked wind blown Georgia. Tropical storm Helene just passed through my county. We all were lucky this time. Thanks Phil enjoyed the video. Got a go pick up limbs. And unfortunately this is a good time for turners to be on the lookout for new wood to add to their stash. Dan
What a lovely little bowl! 🥰 I’ll tell you a story about a visitor seeing Mt Rainier for the first time … a true story, not one of those silly made up ones. 😂 I was going to wait for your Rainier video, but I’d probably forget, so you get it now. Many years ago I had a guy working for me who was from back east somewhere. His dad came out to visit, and this guy wanted his dad to get the full effect of the mountain when he saw it for the first time. He had his dad close his eyes until they pulled off the road. I don’t remember exactly where it was, but somewhere near you … Kent, Puyallup, idk … somewhere in the valley. Beautiful “the mountain is out” kind of day, and you know just what that’s like! He told his dad to open his eyes, and of course dad was blown away. “How do they do that?” dad said. “Do what?” “Do they release something into the air right here to make it look that big?” 😂 His dad thought the place they stopped was some special effects thing! Imagine the rest of that guy’s day as they drove around! 😁 🥰
Oh, that's a great story, Tara! I imagine if you are from some place that doesn't have real mountains, you just might feel that way. So cool, thanks! 😊
@@PhilAndersonShadyAcresWoodshop hi Tara, hi again Phil. Not only am I from a place that doesn't have real mountains, (even the two I mention in my earlier comment barely count in comparison to your Mr Rainier) but I'm actually from, and still living in the "original" county of Kent in the far south east of England! Isn't that strange that you have one in your vicinity?
That's just scary. When you asked what top looks like, I thought "Butterfly", then you held up the bottom and before you said anything I thought "Pillsbury Dough Boy"! Thanks for another great video. When it is clear enough, we get to see Mt. Baker when we walk the dogs. Also, Vancouver island.

Yeah, I guess I've been a coin collector my whole life, as were my parents. Kelvin got the 1943 steel cent in change from the cashier. No coin slots anymore, at least, not in this state. Too bad, I like the sound of a payout. A silver dime is a rare find, nowadays. Lucky day! Thanks, Myles! 😊

What a great idea for some scrap pieces. Scrap apple. Keep up the amazing work. 👽
