Can the punctured tyre be repaired?

- The 3 of us left Alan Jefferies BMW Dealership with beaming smiles after collecting our new 1250GS Triple Blacks. Just over an hour later the amazing TFT Screen lit up with dire warnings to immediately stop...tyre pressure warning. The rear tyre was down to 1.2 bar. Found a garage after another 20 miles, pumped it up to 2.9bar and off we went only to have the TFT screen light up again within a minute. Got home and it was 0.65bar. Soon found a 4mm bolt imbeded in the tyre. Could it be repaired? There is one guy I trust, Mark Croft of MC Motorbike Services. Mark is an ex World Superbike mechanic who runs a brilliant mobile servicing and tyre fitting business here in Derbyshire. He would repair or fail the tyre...oh no!

I hated the Anakee Adventures from mile one. Unfortunately I had to ride to Greece from the UK with them on. Back on Avon Trailriders again.

Actually they are still in my garage if you need them. 10,000km on them.

As mentioned in my email to you I had a puncture on the rear tire with a steel roof bolt, sadly I had to have a new tire as had a tear with the hole ......... the BMW dealership put another tire on for me I paid for the tire they paid for labour as I'd only just picked the bike up, which I thought was Awesome.
I had a "Metzler Torrance Next" tire on, and they replaced with the same, I think its a 80/20 as I'm not going off road any time soon it's been great, grip is awesome in the rain too....

Hi Rick, phew it is only the seal stuff that Mark uses on the tyre. Took some IPA to get it off when I put the wheel back on last Friday🤦🏼♂️🥳

@@r13gbs Don't worry Rick. Mark the tyre man had just been telling us that he could not believe how many people will tell him 'you scratched my rim, I am not paying you' when he is so careful and never made a mark. He is thinking of packing up...sad eh. At least it all wiped off and he did his normal amazing job.

What nonsense Norm! A mushroom bung from the inside and you’d be good to go...I’ve had a bung in a tyre and ridden 10,000km (6000 miles) no worries, and that’s Africa! Nanny state scare mongerers to separate you from your wallet! Good on you to go for a repair rather than replacement tyre! Ride safe! 🏍🇿🇦👍
