    Contracts only bind a person in light of legal actions , that is if company does something illegal it should never been covered by a contract. It's a legally binding document , you can't be bound legally if your actions are illegal.
    The basis for my stance is "common sense" , not all contracts have to be written or even spoken , if it within the common sense that The company has to be operating Legally for it to have Legal power over it's employees in regards to these specific situations. That's How I understand the nature of "contracts".
    It's not like you're on a movie set and the clause exist to protect the movie from leaks and exist for the element of surprise.
    This case is of what I understand a proven repeat abuser with a lot of questionable practices. There's no fking way it would stand in court

Second, your attorney could argue the terms of the NDA are too vague and expansive. Third, they don't have in the NDA how long this is valid for, which is really important. Regi must think hes fucking Google if he thinks he can get away with these types of NDAs and attacks.

      The loser paying legal fees has to be expressly written in their contract. The "American System" defaults to each party paying their own legal fees. And lawyers can get very expensive. Especially if one party is willing to spend more to extended the case. Lawyers charge like $500 an hour for their work and even $200 an hour for their paralegals' work. In cases that last multiple years and are malicious persued to increase the amount of time the attorneys have to spendon the case, that can really add up.

    My honest opinion is that riot needs to bring back relegation and tsm needs to be taken out of this league. Like all the players that have left need to go against them and play their minds out to make them always lose and then they get kicked for not being competitive and trash.

    I was a fan of the TSM league team since season 2. TRM, #baylife, fireman Dyrus, OddOne streams, all that. Regi was always the worst part to watch and consistently brought the image (and especially play) of the team down in my eyes. When TSM Legends was on I usually had to skip the parts where he was talking it was so cringe, and this is when I'm fifteen lmao. It's amazing the talent and personality that flocked to the brand and equally baffling how it was squandered (Bjerg, Swordart, DL, Santorin, Akaadian, Brokenblade, Shenyi, Spica tbh, and that's just players). No one should be surprised by the info Leena, DL, and many others have been coming forward with. Fuck him for being an abusive bully and for turning my favorite team into a garbage personal ego project. Couldn't even turn their games on after the Akaadian/Grig business, which basically meant I stopped watching US league teams for awhile. Crazy what power and entitlement does to a mf.

      Yes Ethan it’s because TSM Reginald has all the money in the world to sue you and basically you need to hire lawyers it will cost a ton of money and years. Reginald is the kind of guy who will fire your ass because you look him in the eyes and he didn’t like your facial expression after him talking and bullying you in front of other people around you. Plus the fact he will close you the doors into the industry.

    I have tried to look into the matter a little bit in terms of non-disparagement clauses in California. From what I can tell, a non-disparagement clause is valid and enforceable as long as it does not relate to protected classes or sexual assault. Hopefully someone with some more legal knowledge can chime in, but I think the commenter on reddit was not correct when he said that there is no chance that TSM could win this. I hope it is not the case, but if the clause is not prohibited by California law, then Doublelift could be on the line for those damages that they are claiming. It is extremely rare that a court would not enforce the terms of a valid contract because that would set a precedent that undermines future contracts and contracts are one of the most important legal documents we have. I just hope DL has a good legal team that will give him truthful and honest advice and not try to sugar coat things because he is a high profile client.

    Wait a minut... I dont know anything about the US justice system but do I understand it correctly that the "loser" of a lawsuit case doesnt need to pay the "winners" lawsuit costs? I am literally speechless if this is true.. This practically means that poor people never can get justice if they cant afford it, regardless if they are right? So if a super rich guy do something "semi-bad" towards someone, a crime which is usually reimbursed with $100k, they can just say: "if you take us to court with your 100% secure evidence that definitely will win you the case, we will make the lawsuit and the trial so expensive that those $100k you will be rewarded will literally be nothing in comparision and you will lose everything you own so you better drop the lawsuit" ?
    Damn, I really start to realize that Sweden (where I am from) is pretty awesome despite all our flaws, like naivety, our lenient view how to handle criminals and our focus on PC/Woke. I remember when ASAP Rocky was in Sweden not too long ago and he and his crew beat the snot out of some annoying kid and got arrested. After this, current president Trump actually tried to contact our Prime minster to have him released.... That is not how the Swedish justice system works. Rich and powerful people CANT make their own rules here. Everyone is treated the same to the law. And back to the topic; in Sweden, the loser of the trail must pay for the winners costs and if they cant afford, the state even pays it for him. (which I think is a bit annoying since it costs the tax payer millions to pay for lawsuit expenses for criminal without any money)

    • @localhobo5362
      @localhobo5362 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      They have "American Rule", basically each party is responsible to it's own legal fees, in EU we have something called "English rule" or simply losers pays. But legal fees can be part of the legal suit, so even in US ordinary ppl can be compensated for their legal fees.
      But even in countries like Sweden rich side will just use some legal tactics to prolong the case for as long as they could (if they know they are gonna lose), they will do it till the "right side" is left without a penny and just couldnt keep going with the case. And eventually the "right side" will just have to settle behind closed doors (happens most of the time in cases between big corps vs ordinary ppl). And we know that civil suits can be very long and draining, for example look at Depp/Heard case, Depp sued her in march of 2019 and only now we see public hearings, it's very draining financially
      Unless some law firm use the said case as an investment (or publicity) and agree to keep going without paying till the case is won (like law firm wont charge legal fees during the case but they will take a big part of the settlement money or something like that).
      Hope I helped a bit. and Sweden is an amazing country btw, I lived there for like year or something, amazing place.
