As a type 2 diabetic, I've tried all grain breads hoping to be able to enjoy one of life's best foods. But sadly everyone of them spikes my blood glucose to the point where I don't even think about them anymore. The other substitutes don't come close to being bread so I don't waste my time on them.

Grains are not the problem, it's FAT. Fat clogging your muscle and liver cells (from the fat & oil you eat) prevents insulin from doing its job of allowing sugar in your blood to enter the cells to be converted into glycogen (your body's source of energy). Remove the source of fat (ie, animal products) from what you eat and T2 Diabetes goes away. Guaranteed. Works every time. Takes about 2 weeks. You then don't need any drugs and can eat anything you like, except animal products and oil. Got to keep the fat OUT!

Having T2 Diabetes for some years now, I avoid white bread like the plague, but like wholemeal seeded breads, but limit the amount of bread, i.e. one slice of toast with Vegemite for breakfast..plus the help of Insulin shots and Metformin tablets to keep my BS quite low, and works for me...

Some of these will work and some won’t. It’s important to test an hour or so after consuming to see if spikes occur.

My problem is that all the good available food you speak of is not palatable to me. I was raised in the country and mom always had a big garden, but corn or potatoes were the only things I could get down. I would throw up if I had to eat an onion, tomato, anything green or leafy. Wish I was different but just can't get the good things. I lost 100 lbs 5yrs ago by eating all the meat, cheese, and eggs I wanted, and have kept it off. Unfortunately I'm diabetic, but my tastes won't enable me to eliminate it,even though I hardly eat any sweets, colasmchips ar any of the obvious bad stuff.
