OK, I did this exactly how you described & all I got to say about the poor man version is: OMG, is this COOL!!!! I was gonna spend all sorts of cash on the new DJI model (which I know is an experience that can't exactly compare to this) but as you say, I'm living FPY for under €50 (live in Europe)! The App from Litchi works perfect, they granted my Beta request within 12 hours, goggles took 3 days with amazon, and now I'm sitting on the patio laughing my butt off! Tomorrow I'm heading into the mountains to get dizzy! THANK YOU droneXfactor!!! This is exactly the solution I was looking for (at least for now)!!!
Thanks for making it easy for me to get the dumb idea out of my head that making an old drone work as fpv is not worth it. Getting an out of the box fpv is more affordable and the real thing. Xavier youre the mayne!

When I look in the ITunes App Store, Litchi does not have the Mavic Air 2 listed as a compatible drone. That’s the only reason I didn’t buy it already.. So it works with the Air 2?? I’ll try it.. I already own a pair of Skyzone FPV goggles. I have flown FPV for a couple years. Awesome!! Thank You!

When DJI releases a new drone, then they usually give third party developers access shortly after! So soon as a new drone drops, shortly after Mini 2 might get open to third party developers. Happy Flying 😎

Is a hybrid poor man's FPV workable? By that I mean can you use the Smart Controller with a set of cheap phone based goggles? I have a smart controller but would like to try FPV with a phone based goggle as a test before committing to the DJI goggles.

what a great video and a lower cost option? I have a question about the phone and googles? Could you use that setup to just fly the drone in its regular mode? Where maybe wearing the googles will give you better clarity especially in my Arizona bright sun? Hope that makes sense?

Can the controller be connected through Bluetooth (wirelessly) to the cell phone? That way the cell can be placed into a VR headset and used during bright sunlight, as an example. AND where on Earth can I get a cable from the controller's usb-c ? to the android cell usb-c? Thanks
Do you use the two-way charging hub for Mini 2? If so, can I remove the battery that is fully charged while the two other batteries are still charging or I have to completely charge all the three batteries before use?

LOVE your vids X, keep 'em coming! Yes, it's a shame that with the "all DJI" setup that you don't get full functionality (head tracking) but with third party Litchi, you do. But I am glad DJI added the Mini 2 to the Smart Controller so now I can use my FatShark goggles with the wired HDMI connection and it looks great. Can't believe the Air 2S isn't compatible with any DJI goggles wirelessly :(

Great video. I've used Litchi before. When I use it with my Magic Air 2 everything works except for the video feed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Very good job on explaining both set ups.

Like I mentioned in the video, it is still in beta. That means after you pay and download the app, you will need to click on the link in the description section to become a beta tester, as I explained in the video. Only when you become a beta tester then it will work. If you don't want to become a beta tester, just give it some time, I'm sure in a few weeks the software will be finalized. Happy Flying 😎
I've owned the original dji goggles for a couple years now,I own the mini 2 and the mavic air 2 and hopefully the mav 3 someday, I'd like to have at least 2 drones compatible with the smart controller before I buy it, I don't see why the Mini 2 isn't even rumored to be compatible w/smart controller? it has occusync 2 🤨

I have Mavic Air 2s that I fly with the Smart Remote.... never thought I might like the goggles but now that I see the DJI FPV, I think I may like the immersive experience. I am using a HMD called MovieMask - it doesnt't need VR split screen - so you can use without the need of a thrid party app. Just use the standard dji fly app. Works perfeclty with Mini 2 or any other drone. On more recommendation - there is an app called DroneVR - with Mavic Air 2 you have full control of your gimbal while wearing a headset, you can look in all directions, not just up and down!
How safe and stable is the Litchi app when it comes to controlling your drone? Since this is a third party software if it was to crash the care refresh won't cover it. I'd love to go with the "poor man's option" though 😂 great video

He put his sticker over the front of his but they are the same. You look close and you even can read parrot on them
the cheap headsets are just a set of lenses to make your phone into stereo vision. The expensive ones need the cable
