Just wow... Wow... I think I don't need to watch any other channel to become a good drone flyer... You are really good in explaining small small things...
My first reaction to droneXfactor was 'Is this a bit'? As I listened, I saw it was real. Translating NYC neighborhood speak to an 80 year old living in the Idaho Panhandle was a challenge. Once I recognized the value of the tutorials, I subscribed. I live in the Idaho Palouse. I just bought the Magic Air 2. The Palouse is world famous for its unique photo opportunity’s. These tutorials will broaden my range of photo experiences.
Never watched a video on youtube so many times. And shared it to other channels...PLEASE post more step by step flights MA2 with all the manual camera settings and filters applied in every situation and occasion. Overlapped hyperlapse day and night is fantastic. Your enthusiasm is contagious man !!!
Great video. Great work. Please be careful flying from inside a fully closed vehicle. One low flying helicopter in such an urban location could be deathly disastrous for a pilot, crew, and dozens of people on the street. Without being able to keep an eye on the area surrounding the drone and being able to listen for other aircraft, the response time is very short if any. I was quite nervous for the safety of the operation, but your result for the demo was great. Keep on creating. Thanks for the demo. Love you man.
Honestly I just like listening to your explanations all the time!...the way you talk is very clear to understand hats off to you! Thank you for sharing your thoughts!👍
Great video. What's the purpose of marking the cross? Can't the drone find the route by itself? Also is the program saved in the drone or in the phone?
You just gained a subscriber. Thanks for making hyperlapse look so easy to perform. The painted “X” is a good idea, but sometimes I’m on grass. So I use the compass app on my iPhone. Then you have the exact coordinates..so then I take a screenshot shot & save it for another time. I took pics & video of a new YMCA over a 18 month period using this technique.
I know this video is a little old, but great job. Easy to follow and more info than others I have watched. Can't wait for the weather to get better so I can get out and fly.
Thanks for the lessons so much to learn so little time ! it's Great to have good Video lessons rather then spending hours trying to figure things out id rather be filming.
After having the MA2 since it was released back in May, I thought I had tried all of it's features. Until I noticed the Waypoint feature under Hyperlapse. Figured I better YT it b4 I tried it. You covered all the bases perfectly. I also never realized DJI's editing program was worth much, but I will definitely give it a shot as well. Good bit of knowledge, well done.
You are wonderful at teaching and getting your points across about why you tell us to do these different techniques and shots. You do an awesome job and I go to your channel for everything mavic air 2. I bought the Autel Evo 2 8k a few months ago and after that latest update on the mavic air 2 and watching the stuff you have been doing with it I just had to have it. Both the Evo 2 and Air 2 have have different strong points. I know the comparison is usually the mavic 2 pro and Evo 2 but after that latest firmware update on the air 2 im blown away. Ability to zoom on the gimbal wheel with function button and zoom tracking ability just to name a few. Amazing! Im sure Autel will put out a new firmware update any time now. Anyway, thanks for all the really great videos on how to get the most out of this drone. I will keep watching. Happy flying, be safe.
Great tutorial! The one thing I noticed with the fade transition is that you need more overlap to make sure it fades where you intended to do the switch. maybe a couple seconds extra on each of the day and night clips required to have the perfect fade transition.
I've always thought of this exact concept. So nice to see it implemented no all we need is a speaker to be able to deter birds. And also way points for photography too. That way we can shoot FANTASTIC PHOTOS FROM SAME LOCATION EVERY SINGLE TIME. 📷
The camera rotational angle is a pain in the arsenal some times sometimes I will make a point move the drone altitude bit and it will say camera rotational angle to large what ever angle I move to?
It means, you can't rotate the drone much unless you space out your points. Think about it, if you rotate without spacing out your waypoints, the drone will rotate within a small space, thus ruining your shot, because you would have big gaps due to large movements. The software is saving you a lot of time by preventing you from ruining the shot. You can try to slow down the Drone speed and that might help a bit. Happy Flying 🙂
Thank you for another well explained video! I wasn’t aware you needed to take off from the exact same spot to get a second hyper-lapse sequence. Thank you 😊
What is the best method to have the Mavic Air 2 go to the exact same GPS position and camera angle to take a few picture. I am have a home built and I would like to go every other day or week to have the Mavic Air 2 fly to the exact same spot and snap a few pictures so I can create a time-lapse of the 8 months or so of it being built. If I were to use waypoints would I only need just one or does hyper-lapse require at least two waypoints.
On the editing of the footage can't the time stamps be used on it if the sequence is mostly identical for example if a bridge comes in at 2:30 into the frame can't that be used for both day and night transitions
Great! This looks really nice! But I have two questions: is it important to start exactly from the same point when I do the second clip? Or do the drone don`t find the first waypoint if I start from a different location? Maybe it is not possible to mark the starting point or find the exact position again (without spray). I think this idea with the waypoints is also interesting to use at different weather conditions (summer/fall/winter/spring) etc. What kind of light do you have on top of your Mavic Air 2?
The drone flies to starting point (or ending point if you are doing it in reverse). If you are talking about the actual clips, it's easier to line it up on a computer with a multitrack video editor since both clips will be 10 seconds (or whatever you set it to) so you can cut with precision.
So just so I'm right once you're in the same area you just tell it to fly the same path and the drone will do the rest ?. E.g adjust high location e.t.c ? Cheers
Hi guys, I live in Europe. Nice tutorial. My issue is that I don't have the little save icon on the left. What can I do? I have the latest air 2, updated and all. I can do way point hyperlapse but I cannot save it in order to replicate the same path another time. Thanks!

Second question is how far have u been able to fly the air 2s in a city environment? Thank u for your time. Your an amazing pilot!!!
How do you change the drone default flying speed in waypoints mode? I find it to be too slow in my case, and the hyperlapses end up taking too long to record.
Great tutorial! How come I'm not given with my Mavic Air2 an option of an hyperlapse longer than 5s (length)? Is it something related to M-anual or A-utomatic settings?
Great video and a good and easy lesson how to use Hyperlapse with Waypoints. I haven't tested this functionality yet but now after I saw your video and how easy it is to make this I can't wait to test it. And it is great to make a film on different seasons here in Sweden with snow and bright green summer.

Great information thanks for this! I do have one other question though? How are you able to fly around that area? I can see your able to get a LAANC clearance from the KLGA. And it appears in the video you stay just north of the permanent class B restricted SFRA over the water. What kind of authorization do you have to get though to operate inside the City limits. And how do you go about obtaining it?
Hi, thanks for the video again. i have tried way point earlier but my drone shows the messages like - camera angle too big or too small. i can't figure it out why is that. please help.
Tried my first hyperlapse today.........your video was extremely helpful and the Air 2 flew the path.......but I must be missing something..............after it got to the second way point, all the images captured after that had the camera pointing in the wrong direction...........do I need to fly to a point, set it, rotate the craft and set another point before moving to the next location? To explain, I set a waypoint right above me, then flew straight west for 200 feet, stopped and set a waypoint, then turned and flew north for 200 feet, stopped and set the third point. But in the recording, the camera is still pointing west as the craft flew north from the second to the third point. Your advise would be greatly appreciated!
Hi, do you know what are the constraints on the camera when doing this? I tried to do a hyperlapse when I'm flying path of an arc while being focused on the center and I always had a problem because the drone told me camera angle was to low and I was unable to do this. The same if instead of an arc I was trying to fly a straight path but keep being focused on the same thing throughout all of the hyperlapse.
Thank you so much for the inspiration. This is awesome.!!! The reverse point seems a bit rough, but otherwise amazing! I'm going to try this myself now. Thanks you, thank you!
Can you edit a route stored in the Task Library, such as moving a waypoint or changing the camera angle, or would you have to shoot the route over from scratch if you wanted to make such a change? I love your channel and your enthusiasm for this technology. I really liked your parallax tutorial!
Thanks Steve, If I remember correctly, you can edit whether it's shot in forward or reserve but I don't think you can change around the waypoints or camera angle without starting fresh 🙁 Thanks for reaching out Happy Flying 😎
@@xavier_arthur Waypoints 2+ is probably what I'm hoping for, where you can use waypoints with video instead of hyperlapse. And cruise control in video mode. Thanks again.
is there a way to set the waypoint like the hyperlapse but for normal photos? i'd like to take some photos of a same location but at different time but from the same angle. any chance this is doable?
I keep revisiting this video, because i learn so much from it. I had forgot that we can save waypoints. Wish we could set it to take a pic at a certain waypoint location. Question: is there a way to get it to start the hyper laps recording when it hits a certain waypoint? If it can and i missed it, forgive me.

Hi. Is altitude change saved for points too? If i drop altitude lets say in point 2 and increased altitude in my 4th and final point would those changes in altitude be saved and used by the drone along with camera positioning and direction?

To explain, I set a waypoint right above me, then flew straight west for 200 feet, stopped and set a waypoint, then turned and flew north for 200 feet, stopped and set the third point. But in the recording, the camera is still pointing west as the craft flew north from the second to the third point. Your advise would be greatly appreciated!
Why was the X on the sidewalk for?
To launch from the same spot for each flight.
@@len.whistler why is it necessary?
You must try to launch from the same point if you're going to execute the hyperlapse with accuracy!

@@xavier_arthurIsn't the first waypoint based on just its GPS location? Why does the take off point even matter?
Accuracy! 😎
Glad I inspired you
Stay safe and Happy Flying 😁
FAA does not allow drone flying at night. How are you getting waiver?
Can you edit a route stored in the Task Library, such as moving a waypoint or changing the camera angle, or would you have to shoot the route over from scratch if you wanted to make such a change?
I love your channel and your enthusiasm for this technology. I really liked your parallax tutorial!
Thanks Steve,
If I remember correctly, you can edit whether it's shot in forward or reserve but I don't think you can change around the waypoints or camera angle without starting fresh 🙁
Thanks for reaching out

@@xavier_arthur Waypoints 2+ is probably what I'm hoping for, where you can use waypoints with video instead of hyperlapse. And cruise control in video mode. Thanks again.
Waypoints Video tutorial coming soon, I'm working on the video tutorial for it
@@xavier_arthur I'd love to see that
is there a way to set the waypoint like the hyperlapse but for normal photos? i'd like to take some photos of a same location but at different time but from the same angle. any chance this is doable?
Oh I’m pumped now. I have some real work to do . Thank you
I live in south florida and now matter where I go even to the everglades I cant fly past 2k feet...please help
I try to do night time hyperlapse but my screen is to dark. Do you have any suggestions?
Turn up the screen brightness or move to a location with more lights to film
I keep revisiting this video, because i learn so much from it. I had forgot that we can save waypoints. Wish we could set it to take a pic at a certain waypoint location. Question: is there a way to get it to start the hyper laps recording when it hits a certain waypoint? If it can and i missed it, forgive me.
ive yet to try hyperlapse on my air2....gona try it later today...thanks x for the great tutorial
You're welcome Ian 😀
Let me know how it works
Happy Flying 🙂

Thanks for this video!! Helped me understand how to do this thank you!
Looks like you have a strobe on top of your drone? Where did you get it please?
Does it send enough signal to the Air 2 inside your car ?
Hi.
Is altitude change saved for points too? If i drop altitude lets say in point 2 and increased altitude in my 4th and final point would those changes in altitude be saved and used by the drone along with camera positioning and direction?
Very informative, I like your videos, they are clear and show step by step how to do something... thanks 🤩

Excellent video my dude. For those that come with a Mavic Mini, the Litchi app, I highly recommend.
Good shit man. Very inspiring. Watching all your videos before getting my first drone the Mavic Air 2. Can't wait to do a hyperlapse. I always wonder what people think if they see q drone flying overhead. Do they get weirded out or angry or think it's cool. Kinda makes me a bit self conscious in a way haha 😄. Or do they even notice it? Seems like it would be hard not to notice. Happy flying! Thanks man.
