- The Xiaomi 12T Pro is one of the first phones to use Samsung's new ISOCELL HP1 200MP camera sensor, which allows Xiaomi to apply 16-in-1 pixel binning for a superb 12.5MP photo in many conditions.

the difference between the quality of main and ultrawide is huge
ultra wide in these almost flagship devices (flagship killers) are trash... but hey, the main sensor is wow.

any xiaomi past the mi 10 pro ultrawide is garbage... went from 20mp to 13 to 12 to 8mp... at this rate they will be 5mp an charge you $900 for the phone

looks really good, pixel binning is undoubtedly the future of smartphone cams and this was even predicted in 2014 by no less than the Nokia engineer in charge of the Pureview tech in Nokia 808

I have a compact camera from 2011, Fuji X10. It uses Pixel binning in certain light conditions. Back then, this concept was mind-blowing to me!
This camera is still good and can outperform any smartphone when used correctly
Nokia 808 was very good. Lumia 1020 was ok. I still have those and they still shine👍

Ben I love your honest take on tech and how you really put things into perspective, never one to make things sound better than they are. Clearly this 12T Pro is a good phone and probably so if at that rumored price, it's a respectable price for what it is but as you said even with this new 200MP camera sensor, it doesn't all of a sudden dethrone the Xiaomi king which is the Ultra whether that's in the camera dept. or any other but I am glad to see Xiaomi continuing to push the boundaries and not minding to be first with new tech that's not proven.

Is the haptics good? 11T Pro had goot haptics but not on the same level as Mi 11 and Xiaomi 12 Pro. Would be good to know if 12T Pro has improved haptics compared to 11T Pro?
definitely going to buy this, I was planning to get the 11T pro and had no idea that the next generation was this close. now that it's been released I'm gonna wait a few months for it to arrive to South Africa so I can pick it up

@@anonm7742 I don't know about a specific place you can go to but I stay in Johannesburg and I buy all my Xiaomi online from takealot, Makro or connected devices. You need to shop around for a good deal though but once you find one it's easy to buy and collect at takealot or ship to your house
All I want is a proper upgrade to the mi note 10 sadly I view this as a single-camera phone. I love photography and I have been saving up to import the 12s Ultra to the states as it'll be a nice birthday present to myself.
Just be aware that miui china rom is riddled with bug

Hi, how come that Xiaomi 12T Pro has 12MP and 5MP back and front cameras, this is what I get in Aida64 and similar apps. 200mp is only a mode and the actual lens are not 200mp?

Comparison with the iPhone 14 Pro Max has already been done by other reviewers. IPhone still wins especially zoomed in photos. I think it all comes down to the processing software still needs work for xiaomi.

The post process digital zoom is legit. Really makes up decently for the lack telephoto camera. I don't know if it's better than the Pixel 7??
The race is on to 1 gigapixel which is 1000 megapixels. Imagine that binned down to 12.5mp but I think processing power has to increase a lot more to be able to handle that instantly. Then there is the matter of the balance of those amount of pixels and sensor size.
What’s the point of binning 100 pixels if each of them is sooooo small and containing more or less the same information?

With ultra wide like that you're better off getting an external lens for ultra wide, zoom and macro etc. You're basically buying a phone with one camera at this point.
For taking pictures, this camera is flagship level, the phone has flagship specs as well, just no flagship features like IP rating or wireless charging, the only weak side is the video I'd say, but for that price it's good enough

Nah, 12s ultra is a proper flagship with all rounder cameras setup with flagship specs. This one only has one good camera with flagship soc to back the sensor.

They just can't get away from the throw away 2mp camera eh?😂😂🤣 I hate the 200mp count just because it's seems to create a problem that's unnecessary. They could simply give us a 20mp lens on the same size sensor and potentially have better results and quicker processing enabling things like 4k120 like what Sony is able to do. However this keeps me a lot more hope for the S23 Ultra even though I stand behind my initial point regarding the needless high megapixels.

@@bensgadgetreviews i don't think as an overall camera experience is better than the iphone 14 pro.but the advantage that it has in a few areas,especially photo,is due to the huge 1 inch sensor,not to the xiaomi software.and i think for years now this is xiaomi's way to hide their lack of software optimization:big camera sensors and big batteries!but when compared to other phones,with smaller sensors and batteries,they often lose.
