Xiaomi 12 Pro (Global Version) Review: Really Good, But Not Ultra

  • The Xiaomi 12 Pro is yet another highly polished and refined slab smartphone from Xiaomi, and as a flagship it ticks almost every box -- except a good zoom lens. But as long as this phone doesn't come near the price of the Galaxy S22 Ultra, I think it's okay -- everything else about it is excellent.

    Honestly I'm quite impressed by this 12 Pro Global Edition, but seriously Xiaomi, USB-C 2.0 in 2022 on an Android smartphone at almost $1000, seriously 😬.

      1099€ in France. But no IP Rating and question about long term support. Xiaomi means cheap smartphone or midrange with bloatware in France.
      People only spend that amount of money for Samsung or Apple.
      It seems to be a good phone with a lot of qualities

    Always a very enjoyable experience to watch your informative videos, Ben! I noticed Xiaomi not any longer keeps the punch hole in the upper left corner of the screen. I bought the Xiaomi 12 pro, upgraded from the Xiaomi 11 t pro. Must say got the positives I was looking for that were missing on the Xiaomi 11 t pro, namely better sharp screen / display and a good camera. However find the battery weaker and phone occasionally heats up on bumping up the brightness (I can deal with this as your review was clear and it's the price I'm willing to pay for a sharp crisp flagship standard display that's important for me ) however was looking for help from you on one issue. I believed that the scrolling was super smooth. I don't experience so. There is a slight stutter on vertical and horizontal scrolling, any suggestions to solve this. Appreciate you guidance and thanking you in anticipation. Regs. Nishit Sapra

    some cons :
    cooling system smaller than oppo/realme and performance wise also lesser
    camera algorithm don't have any improvement at all, BBK group (oppo/realme) have 2x lossless zoom algorithm that proved great (find x5 pro , the telephoto can do 5x hybrid with this tech)
    using the JN1 sensor for 50MP Gimmick, realme gt 2 pro some how have a bit better detail on their UW lens with same module (looking at gsmarena sample)
    price hike more than predecessor
    pros :

    Xiaomi is going crazy. In europe its 1099 when the S22 Ultra 1249.
    Or for 1149 the iPhone 13 pro.
    Who in the right mind would buy the Xiaomi? No one.
    Especially since apple and samsung are the gold standard here. Hard to compete against peoples habbits.

    • @andyH_England
      @andyH_England 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is for 256GB/12GB so add another €100 for the Ultra, so €250 difference seems reasonable as apart from the 10X zoom the rest is comparable (assuming you are not buying for the s-pen as then they are not even competitors). In the UK I am expecting about £350 difference and as a non spen user I would def choose the Xiaomi especially as it means I do not get the dumpster that is the Exynos 2200. I use two phones, one is always an iPhone, so that is not a competitor for me. I have a short list of Honor Magic 4, Xiaomi 12 or OPPO Find X5 Pro. I tried the S22U but it is not good so that is being sold.
