I’ve learned so much from your tutorials on crumb quilting. I started quilting during Covid and crumb quilting was the way I started and that is the only way I do my quilts. I just can’t do patterned quilts. This crumb quilting way is so creative and never will there be any repeats ! I’ve made so many items such as makeup bags to larger tote bags and have given them as gifts To friends! Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge with us out here!🌸🌸🌸
Darlene got me hooked on crumb quilting! When I have to stop, like for moving (ugh), I label my crumb quilting as "bag o' bliss". Usually in a huge commercial trash bag, lol.
I love your idea of putting a clip on the side you plan to sew. I have often which side I plan on sewing especially when I am interrupted. Thanks for sharing and for giving Darlene a heads up. She, too, is both amazing and encouraging.
I watched all of this series and really enjoyed it. In fact, I was sewing some pieces together while watching. I probably won’t make a quilt but I may make some blocks big enough to make a bag out of. So fun. Thanks so much for sharing…………….
The fun for me is not worrying about how fabrics go together in crumb quilting, I just close my eyes and delve in. Whatever I pick up gets sewn together. When you put all your blocks together it just magically works.
I love how your block turned out. The nice thing about crumb quilting, you are rarely short of materials to make blocks. Great tips for piecing and trimming the block.
Great job girl😊 im really enjoying your podcasts and im getting ready to do another one. I do donate alot of scraps becase im always making quilts here from Ontario Canada ❤
Its so weird how little pieces of scrap fabric make me so happy lol.....only those of us who sew can truly know the joy beautiful prints bring us.....there is no limit when sewing and I just love it !!!!!
Best video I've seen on crumb quilting. I was never really interested in doing this until i saw your step by step process. Love your block. I'd like to see a whole quilt done with this technique.
I really like how this block turned out. Good job Nora! My I enjoy crumb quilting so much that it is pretty much all I do now. I am going to make a qult for a friend and she is from the Philippines, so I have been looking at the very colorful quilts from there. Then it got me to think about studying different types of fabrics and quilts from different countries. Fun stuff!
This was brilliant! The most helpful on TH-cam to - me - re crumb quilting as my pieces are mostly very small. I was getting confused as to where to make a straight edge. This answered so many of my queries - thank you so much! Can I ask - do you throw away all the pretty pieces you cut off or do you use them?
Prior to watching your video I would have avoided same fabrics touching. But, your doing so draws the eye away from seam lines and improves the crumb quilting. It improves flow!
Such a beautiful pieces of art! I have spent the day in my sewing room and now get to sit with my hand quilting and watch your art. Thank you for posting this video.
How do you manage all the seams when you get ready to quilt it? There are soooo many seams and I’m wondering how you would free motion quilt through all the seams
I have soooo many scraps and have planned to make some scrap and crumb blocks and just haven't gotten to it. But you have inspired me! It is on my list for this very week. Thank you for sharing your process. I love your block. :)
I am so happy I found your videos. I just started crumb blocks and I am more selective. Just pulling something out of the bin Is tough for me. Even when I make a scrappy quilt. It is organized scrappy.
I have a crumb quilt made in the 1980s-90s .... it is super heavy because of all the little pieces and their many seams. I now tend to use bigger strips and crumbs and that makes a lighter quilt.
Susan .... I found my crumb blocks tend to be too dark ... I liked them better when I introduced more contrast in that I added more lights to my blocks and always made sure to put a white block in .... that kept the blocks from looking muddy.
I don't know if you tried this, but while crumb piecing you might not need to raise the pressure foot in most cases. Such a game changer! I am loving the crumb series and have been playing around myself. So much fun!!
I'm really enjoying this "crumb" series. The length of the video doesn't bother me at all. There are others that have longer videos that REALLY ARE just a bunch of Blah, Blah, Blah. At least I am learning from you. Just found you today. I have subscribed. ✌🏻♥️
I love sewing crumb blocks but I find that I have bigger pieces around the edge so that I don't have so many seams to sew together. It makes it less bulky.
While I appreciate your putting up these videos, the crumb quilts just aren't growing on me. 🤔🤷♀️ I love scrap quilts, but I'm having trouble getting motivated to do these mixed crumb quilts. I think if I do any, I will stay with the same colors in each block ~ blues, lt blues, teals/aqua, purples, reds, greens, yellows, etc. Anything else is too much commotion. I think I'll make hexies as far as I can, then make a pillow top out of the crumbs. Thanks for sharing, though!

I don’t worry about colors matching because when all the blocks are put together it all works. I’m going to love this series.

ABSOLUTELY !!!!
I think crumb quilting is my favorite way of quilting. Each block is a separate work of art. Love your video.

Oh dear, if I’m not crumb quilting I’m watching a video on crumb quilting 😁. Pretty block you made there!

Fun! Your block turned out great.
That's so beautiful

Love it! My crumb projects haven’t turned out so great, but you make me want to keep trying. :)

Love it!!! Thanks for sharing your talent!!!
I say make a crazy quilt. No sashing, just a wild and lively quilt !
I love your crumb block style. I too take my inspiration from Darlene. You have a similar style to her :) greeting from Australia
so many pretty pieces :)
Nice block!🌎❤️❤️

Excellent video! Motivated. I Will return to a piece I started yrs ago.

Well you be doing more crumb quilting?
I love sewing crumb blocks but I find that I have bigger pieces around the edge so that I don't have so many seams to sew together. It makes it less bulky.
curious....you don't use a foundation fabric for the bottom?
what is the finished size of your block ... what were you aiming for size wize
Здравствуйте, я с удовольствием смотрю и шью такие блоки ,но у меня сломалась швейная машинка.как мне сшивать их вручную.спасибо.
What is your definition of a “crumb”? I noticed you said the eagle fabric was bigger than a crumb.
I scrolled through the videos but I didn't see it. was there ever a posted final crumb quilt? thank you!
I enjoy watching you do this but I just don't have the patience for the little pieces
I would like to see how you join the blocks.
One of the earlier videos in the series shows joining blocks but there will be much more of that to come for sure.
Surprising when you put them together , you don’t. Expect them to look as they do , when they have been squared up. Like it.

Dont trim your pieces before sewing them together because depending on how your sewing them, you might need the extra fabric.
You wasted most of the fabric. Measure twice, cut once. I think we should think wisely.
"These ones " ? Why not just say " these pieces " Sounds more correct .
Hmmm… gotta say, I don’t love this comment.
