This song is about the Satsuma Rebellion during the Boshin War/Meiji Restoration in Japan, Prior to the Rebellion, the Satsuma Domain where actual loyal to the Imperial cause. However, once they found out the Emperor wanted to do away with the Feudal Caste system, effectively killing the Samurai Class. The Samurai of Satsuma, who where once faithful to the Imperials, now stood against the entirety of the Imperial armed forces.
If you like the song at the end it is The Last Stand by Sabaton obviously. It's about the Sacking of Rome in 1527 a very gruesome action done by the Holy Roman Empire and Rome lost about eighty percent of it's population (Edit) It is because of that event the Papal Swiss Guard exists to this day
@@Kevichkovil He is correct, The Last Stand is about the Papal Swiss Guard, at the time the Pope had a Swiss Guard as mostly of the european kings, during the Sack of Rome they defended the Vatican until the last man, no one survived, but they gave the Pope enough time to escape to St. Angelo castel and save his life.
When someone commited seppuku, it was usually with a close friend nearby to chop off your head. They basically saw it as a way to go out honorably on your own terms, and their friend was there to kill then before they suffered.
Speaking of old and new things, one example really stuck with me: there was a monastery (happened in other places, too) in the Lake Constance that had a working old roman hypocaust (floor heating) system. The new ways came, they exchanged the perfectly fine thing for a "modern" medieval one where the air/smoke from burning wood was just directly transferred into the room and they basically poisoned themselves with the carbon monoxide. The old Romans used pipes inside the wall and floor to use the heat, but not the smoke...well. :D
Embrace change when it is good. Do not accept change when it is bad. I'd say instead of doing away with the old ways, merge them into the new ways, if possible, this way it isn't completely gone.
I wonder if Sabaton will ever cover the Great Christmas Truce of 1914. It was a day no shells would fly, it was a day no men would die, something along that line.
Hey, my Japanese has improved enough that I immediately understood this song is called "White Mountain" in Japanese. xD Not necessarily a hard thing to figure out but when I first heard it I thought it just referred to a name or place without thinking about the meaning.
React to the Live Version of it from resurrection fest 2017. The Song at the end was "The Last Stand" one of the best Songs from sabaton in my opinion🤘
"Which is sad, but... That history for you." I literally said 'that's history for you' just a second before you did, Lol. Also, you should check out Heartless Scat by Ningen Isu. They're a Japanese heavy metal bad that I discovered recently and would love to hear what you think of them. Just make sure to watch the video with subtitles on, as all the lyrics are in Japanese.
Seven Pillars of Wisdom. Watch Sabaton's History Channel EP 1st to see Indy tell his Camel story. I swear to the gods that would happen to me if I rode a Camel lol.
Have you heard a swedish band called Raubtier? They sing in swedish and have a very strong north swedish accent. Much darker then sabaton and have there own sound just like sabaton. I probobly start with one of this. Världsherravälde Pansarmarch Achtung panzer
Lovely reaction as always. Have you watched the Sabaton history Channel episode on this one? It's hard to pick a favorite song from them, there are so many different and awesome ones. Keep them coming
Japan never went Democratic, it has always been a Monarchy, both under the Shogun and under the Emperor. Now they are a Constitutional Monarchy. The Emperor of the Crysanthemum Throne is still considered the Head of State within Japan. But out side Japan the Prime Minister is pretty much the head of state..
So if I just nag a bit more, got ya 😀 So as others said "the last stand" is probably the next Sabaton. But if your willing to try out a new band I would suggest checking out Versailles - Masquerade ( m.th-cam.com/video/niAl_paNrh0/w-d-xo.html ).
Good reaction, but I don't see why samurais glorified by many people. Like this wasn't good vs bad. Samurais were just 5% of Japan and held majority of power before this and were supposed to be higher caste. They treated others as inferiors.
I guess “the last stand” now has to be the next song you should react to, love the videos!!
My favorite song :)
Dying for salvation

They teased songs at the end of the videos / singles they released leading up to the release of the album, that's what you heard at the end.

You nailed it. Samurai used guns for a VERY long time (thanks to trading with the Dutch).
This is a VERY powerful song to hear live.
Viking is back with more Sabaton, great reaction again!
"Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it."
Next up: 82nd all the way in a triple reaction (Sabaton Version, Amaranthe Version, live version with those two bands combined)
I wonder if Sabaton will ever cover the Great Christmas Truce of 1914. It was a day no shells would fly, it was a day no men would die, something along that line.
The song heard, in the end, is "The Last Stand". And given that you've already heard a peak of it. It seems you now must listen to the entire thing.
Amazing video as always!
Hey, my Japanese has improved enough that I immediately understood this song is called "White Mountain" in Japanese. xD Not necessarily a hard thing to figure out but when I first heard it I thought it just referred to a name or place without thinking about the meaning.

Mr. Viking needs to do the Last Stand now! Make sure to turn on the lyrics -- it is a very "Christian" song!

can you do reaction ofwind rose and/or powerwolf?
thx
They actually only killed around 30.. out of 30.000.
Killing anyone when they just had swords going up against muskets, cannons and gatling guns is impressive enough

The official music video? Well, yes... But, still... It's not the same thing. Text on the background of images? Noooooooooooo.
