Adrian Carton de Wiart: The Most Badass Soldier of All Time and a Real Life Action Hero th-cam.com/video/y-E_n0q0ttI/w-d-xo.html According to this history channel Sir Anthony was shot down Five times in fact 😁
another fact about Adrian Carton de Wiart: in WW 1 nurses had his PERSONAL pyamas in the field hospital. he was sent to the same field hospital over and over again
This music video summed up: "Sabaton band members desperately try to kill their historian and he just WON'T. BLOODY. DIE." For real though, this music video is so cheeky and meant to be over the top. And because of that, while the song is good with that galloping beat and guitars, I basically screamed with laughter throughout. I honestly did not expect such a funny, tongue-in-cheek video from them. And I loved Indy in this. They told him to go full blown melodrama and he CHEWED the scenery to utter BITS.
Let's be honest, there is no other way to do a tribute to this guy. Sir de Wairt should have died several times over but the man was plot armor made real.
"he ripped off a finger so the doc wouldn't amputate" Wrong. He did it because the doc DIDNT WANT to amputate. a pure case of "fine, i'll do it myself"
Nah, I believe it was to prevent the doctor from amputating his whole hand, so he bit off his own finger to save the rest of the hand which would be amputated anyways.
@@tristanvoltaire2058 story is that he really cut it himself (or more accurately, tried to rip ot off with his teeth and ended up damaging it so much amputating it was now the only choice) because he could go back to the front faster as an amputee than if he waited to heal in the hospital. Remember that guy is a complete madman that did EVERYTHING in his power to stay on the battlefield as much as possible.
5:40 The "hook" for this song, at least for me, is the chorus that sings "In the age of madness, In a time of sadness". That's constantly stuck in my head.
I love it how they decide to break it at the end and restart it. "At the edge of madness, in a time of sadness An immortal soldier, *edge of madness* At the edge of madness, in a time of sadness An immortal soldier finds his home"
The man kept being sent back to the same hospital so many times, the staff kept a set of pajamas EXCLUSIVELY for him! Even death is going, "OH COME ON! When can I get this guy?!!" 🤣
@@lionfromthenorth4580 I love how the premise of the video is just the band "killing" Indy over and over. They must have had so much fun shooting this.

There is a movie about The Lost Battalion, and it's called "The Lost Battalion". The movie came out way before the Sabaton song (in 2001), but it's a pretty good movie, I'd recommend it.
When Sir de Wiart finished WW1 he held the title of Acting Brigade commander after having taken part in multiple great battles of WW1, when he was awarded the Victoria cross he dedicated it to the 8th Gloustershire Regiment for the fighting they went through, he then spent time in Poland as part of the British Polish mission to aid Poland in multiple conflicts, he ended up fighting the a red army cavalry unit that attacked the observation train he was on, he accidentally fell off it but managed to run back on and keep fighting, the whole story is so rich and amazing that if it hadn’t been documented I wonder how we would have known about it

Dude was half Irish that's how he was given a British knighthood 3 times in 3 different ways. He was also awarded the Victoria cross (British version of the medal of honor, highest military award) and the distinguished service order award (British version of the distinguished service cross, second highest military award) he was also made knight of the British empire (KBE), knight of the order of bath(CB), and knight of the order of the saint Michael and saint George (CMG).
Guy got 3 knighthoods and 2 of the highest military honors.
That's what you get if you mix belgian and irish blood 👌
I wonder how much the boys enjoyed trying to off Indy. And that's a proper gang-BANG during the guitar solo!
the constant galloping rhythm reminds me of some of their older music, but with a nice blend of more recent stuff... and a sick video to boot
I watched OldSkuleNerd’s reaction on this and it gave me a really comedic look on the video, which was probably the intention, it was hilarious!
The more I hear this song, the more I like it.
Ah yeah i like the background music lol
Untot im Drachenboot from Feuerschhwanz is just legendary
I didn't think much of the chorus (or even the song) at first but it really has its hooks in me now after a few repeat listens
Great reaction Tank, as always. 🙌
I dont know if youll do any more sabaton reactions. But id love to see your reaction to the animated music video for "Stormtroopers"
Increadible to think its a "true" story but the song itself is fantastic. Sabaton has almost become a religeon for me at this point, watching the historical channel aswell.
I think this song is crazy good, different and the video is spot on =)
Man, u so crazy. I glad i am find a man, with who i can relax on a listen of Sabaton. Thank u so much. Say hello to Russia)
Can't spell "TankTheTech" without "Sabaton"
Amon amarths new single "put your back into the oar" slaps! Worth a reaction
this one is best yet from this new upcoming cd. THEY ARE TEASING US FOR SURE
Love this song as well. Have the Earbook pre-ordered. Oh, this is funny, I am listening to your outtakes video as I type this. So, how are those Layla's treating you?
Absolutely loving them. Nothing I've ever owned audio was comes close.
@@TankTheTech Glad to hear it! As a fellow lover of quality audio, I am happy for you. Mine is on a larger scale (processor, high end speakers, amps, etc.), but I understand the quest for quality audio. I just never new it could be as small as your gear until I saw your video. On another note, thanks in large part to you, I am now enjoying Memento Mori! Happy listening!
There's a new amazing music video released by Bloodywood. You have to check that one!
3 big videos, 3 very different sounding songs, all different to each other and all great songs. Super keen for this album. On top of this we already know there is a Yarnhub story video on the way for another song on the album down the track due to sneaky peak at the end of the Exit Festival set. Plus still pumping out frequent lyric videos for older songs and Tommy doing his own thing with the Disneyton mashups and his how to lessons on his various solos, content blitz from these guys.
Awesome reaction as always! By the Powers of All That is Metal please do a reaction to Amon Amarth's new single "Put your back into the oar"!
Planning on doing that one sooner than later!
@@TankTheTech sweet man! Looking forward to it and all the ones in the future!
Awesomeeeeeeeee.
Sir Adrian Carton de Wiart, a soldier who was shot in the head, face stomach, ankle, leg, hip, and ear; was blind on his left eye as well; survived two plane crashes; and tore off his own fingers when a doctor declined to amputate them and still lived to 83 years old. really an Unkillable soldier so a good title of the He served in the Boer War, First World War, and Second World War.efter the first WW he wrote:Frankly I had enjoyed the war. a Borderliner .madman , lunatic and a hero as well complicated indeed
Not sure if you saw but Memphis May Fire just released another song, Make Believe, along with the officially announced new album “Remade In Misery”! Check it out!!
I love me some Sabaton, any time any place. A great, rousing action movie style song, and a great reaction as always.
Would love a reaction to something like 1914 as a sort of stylistically different take on similar subject matter (moreso as things are looking pretty bleak globally as of writing).
Would love a reaction video from you of Saving Vice - Phantom Pain
You should check out "Believer" by Myrath, they're an awesome band from Tunisia.
Read his memoirs "Happy Odyssey" The Memoirs of Liutenant-General Sir Adrian Carton de Wiart V.C.
This this song I love that it has a unique sound compared to other Sabaton songs, you are also among the few reactors that also like its sound.
Another group that does insane music video production is Starset, I recommend their song Trails.
You NEED to do the new bloodywood song they released today. well they dropped a whole album but only one youtube release so far
Love the song and the video. I always laugh so hard when I see the boys just beating the crap out of Indy. Cheering each other when they manage to shoot or blow him up.
I'm just here waiting for the Video for Dreadnaughts...If its going in the direction of Bismarck its going to be epic...
