A friend of mine has the same motor in his Chrysler 300. Similar to the stage 3 build and I raced em. So I know how fast that combo is on the streets.

I just watched the video. Beautiful job by the way. My question is, what was done to heads. I saw you cleaned them in the parts tank. Then it seemed like the next shot I was looking at a brand new set of heads. What did you do u o them ?

Was this a 6.4 with long tubes and stage 3 install, I ask because I’m curious about the dyno numbers
I was told by at least 3 performance Shops, this Job including forging the Pistons, Rings and Rods with the Whipple Charger, Fuel pump and Transmission upgrade and the ECU Programming Dyno Tune is a 40 thousand dollar Job for my 2014 Charger SRT8 ??? And that's not counting the Headers and Borla Mufflers
Sounds like 20-25 or more in just parts plus labor probably would be 40
The shop I’m dealing with doesn’t even bother with drop ins , too labor intensive. Everything is just a new 426 short block already forged with most everything just transferred over.
@@bossstrick are you talking about a engine swap ??
@@raymondrocco8607 just a short block, not a complete long block replacement. Most all the components on your top end would transfer over and you would receive a core reimbursement for your 392 block that they would keep.
@@raymondrocco8607 I’d shop around before I make a decision on that. You can’t go wrong with your game plan all I’m saying is for the money why wouldn’t you go with the 426 but once again, there’s nothing wrong with boosting the 392 and forging it it’s just very expensive.

@@NationalSpeedInc I don't doubt it. I spent a lot of time interviewing shops, and your team has been A+ compared to others in the industry. Some with big names I don't want to mention as I may have just caught them on a bad day.
do you need to upgrade the torque converter when getting any camshaft upgrade? i have a 2014 charger srt8 superbee with i think the Nag1 transmission

I plan on purchasing a used 13 srt8 charger and I am worried abt the lifter/mds issue. What steps should I take to avoid replacing the motor?
Replace them if its high milage. I never had a problem until I bought one with 103,000 miles, then I had to replace the lifters. While you're at it i would do a MDS delete unless you want the HIGHEST MPG possible. It will be one less point of failure and almost all modded rt/scat packs have that done. If you really want to ball out go ahead and replace the cam and get forged rods and head too, not necessary, but again it's one less point of failure.

Thanks for the comment, Paul! If these were custom race builds, we'd agree with you! However, for this package, we've seen absolutely no benefits whatsoever for the additional time and cost.

Chassis dynos measure output at the tire, not the crank. If you were to factor in drivetrain loss, this car is making well over 500 at the crank.

Yeah most people “delete” MDS when they upgrade the cam

@SRT_G It will unleash a whole new beast.
Prior to my cam, I did a dyno tune, Cai, and long tube headers, gained about 30-35 hp, but it didn't feel like it.
Once I put that cam in, I gained about 60whp, and Man, I'm telling you, she can run with the 392's now.
I'm thinking about procharger in two or three years, if I decide to keep it and not trade it in on a 392. I was told the 392's are not as mod friendly.
My mechanic told me, if you went over 600hp in a 392, you would need forged internals, another 10K, besides 10K for forced induction.
He told me with my 5.7, I would not need forged internals if I went with a procharger down the road.
Idk, I love my orange beast, 2014 RWD Charger RT Max, but I love those Daytonas 392 more...lol.
@@thebacdoc6464 oh yeah I know and all dodge vehicles are pretty maxed out from factory like mustangs can put a CAI and a tune and get 50hp because they’re dialed down so much from factory for us it takes a lot more regardless but yeah if you want to build a 392 it definitely costs. New cam lifters mds delete etc everything that you gotta do for a cam costs 4-5k ish depending on who’s doing it and all that I’m trying to get 70-100 WHP out of the cam and tune on mine and then I want to eventually procharge or supercharge mine and build it but that’s definitely later on down the line
