Ordered keys and fobs from ebay for $12. Just finished programming my remotes after watching this video. Thanks for the help. Awesome and straight to the point video.
Thank you, sir!!!! Worked like a charm on my 2005 GMC Yukon. The last time I had reprogrammed one fob, I thought I had to do the steps all over for the second fob. Seeing you program the second and third one was fascinating. It was the “Oh” moment. Haha.
Wanted to let everyone know that it worked flawlessly on my 2004 Silverado. No issue whatsoever took me less than 1 minute to set up my key fob , every button works thank you soo much
Thank you! I cleaned everything like you said and replaced the battery. Trained the remote and it is working perfectly. You saved us at least a $100.00. Easy to follow directions. Thank you!
This guy knows what he is taking about. Worked great for my syncing my fob to my vehicle. Easy and very simple to follow his instructions. Mine is now working thanks to this guy.
2001 gmc sierra... worked first time... bought an extra remote on Amazon... this was the first video to come up... worked as described! I'm ecstatic!...I think the main thing is to make sure you have the correct remote part# and FCC id#... again worked great
Thanks! I tried using the directions the dealership gave me and couldn't get it. I watched your video, twice, then went out to my truck and ABRA CADABRA. Like magic, it worked!
Believe it or not you're video saved me money on a tow truck and a major headache. My Silverado has this problem that most have with leaving you stranded by having the check engine security lock flashing. Thank you, Thank you,Thank you.
They told me to turn the key 3 times and I had to return the remote twice because I thought it wasn't working the woman from customer support had an attitude but this right here worked thank you so much
Worked first try, on a 2004 Chev Suburban K2500! Thank you! saved me $150 to have a pair of remotes programmed at the local Chev dealer... What an unholy ripoff, for about 90 seconds of labor... Again - THANK YOU, electronhacks - Thank you, You Tube!!
This video was perfect! Programmed the fob on our 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer on the first shot. Content was concise yet very helpful. Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you you are the only one that explained that while you have to do all of them at once you so not repeat ALL the steps for all three of them, I apreciated
For anyone who's having problems, 3 things. Make sure to let go off the unlock on the door quickly after switching the key to off the 2nd time, make sure to hold the remote up over the steering wheel for the signal to work. Make sure to press the lock button on the fob a milisecond or two before pressing down the unlock button and holding them both down.... And of course make sure the fobs have working batteries.. which can be tricky because these fobs have no light indicators. If it's not working try replacing the 3v battery with a new, fresh one. They're cheap.
Thank you for this. I've tried a few different times and it worked once but I think I messed it up when I tried separately to program another fob. I'm going take all this information and give it a try tomorrow!
WOW thank you so much! I have spent hours searching forums, youtube, tech bulletins ... everything I could think of and could not find a solution. My fob stopped working after installing an aftermarket radio in my 2001 Silverado. I was ready to pull the radio out and put the ugly original back in, after finding this video I had it fixed in 30 seconds! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much! it just took me ten minutes to do what the gm dealership wanted to charge me $97.50 per hour, to try to figure out why my remote wasn't working.
Thank you for a clear and concise video. It worked for programming on an aftermarket and my original GM on a 2002 Sonoma. With the help of your video, I was able to program both remotes first run thru....
thank you so much. i had my keys stollen or lost so needed to get the fob replaced quickly. i went to my local dealership and they wanted 275$ for the fob and programing. you just saved me so much money thank you
THANK YOU!!! You saved me about $100. after paying $56. + shipping for the new remote. It said (on the shipping invoice) "see your dealer for programming" HA! Worked first time- your awesome!! Thanks again!!
Make sure and keep me posted- it worked like a charm for me. I still have car and the same remote! you should no trouble if you go by this video. Good luck! I'll be waiting to see how it goes. =)
Just for those who try this and don't have the locks cycle, still continue. I thought it wasn't working for me but then I tried the remote and it worked even though the locks never cycled during programming.
Thanks, Posting things like this on youtube makes it easy and simple for people to solve issues without spending alot of time researching a solution, time I can spend with my kids. Its great when cool people can share knowledge that can help a honest consumer save a lil money on things that crooks overcharge for.
The procedure really works. I had both a 2001 Suburban and a 2001 Yukon. But now I own a 2002 Suburban and I've already bought twice devices and I do know why it never works.
Thanks! A LOT of help! Worked on my 2008 Pontiac G6! The dealership couldn't even get this to program, but I did after watching this! You're awesome!!!
thanks for posting this video there was 2 places here in az that wanted 85 amd other 100 for 1 fob programmed yesterday i went to junk yard for a center seat and truck had 2 remotes girl said i can have them watched your vid and boom i now have 2 fob remotes programmed saved me atleast 90 bucks 🤘🤙👍✊
Thanks for this video! This absolutely helped me out 💯 and I was able to do it myself within the first try! Now I can use my keyless entry remote on my 06 Chevy Trailblazer. THANK YOU!!!
So, after doing the on/off twice, do the doors lock before letting go of the unlock button and then they unlock when letting go of the button? I hear mine clicking like it is trying to lock and unlock but they don't actually lock and the remotes are not programming. They are the same remotes I have had that were working but they just stopped working. They just stopped working a year or so ago and I was able to re-program them to work again then.
Thanks for the video. It worked like the video described! I worked for a GM dealer in the late 80's to mid 90's and the the first ones as I recall had a transceiver in the trunk that you had to activate in some manner (my memory is a little fuzzy on this) This is way easier!
Does anyone know why I could have problems with programming my remote? I do all the video says but after holding down the unlock button and having it going into programming mode a few seconds later is disengages from programming mode, is there something wrong with my vehicle?
Hey thank you!! That was a great trick about all the remotes at once. That was frustrating me like crazy. Good job on the video!! It was easy to follow, just right. Ray from TEXAS
The great thing is for a family of GM cars in the house, you can use one remote for other GM cars too. If a thief is in the driveway press panic button from your window and all your GM cars in range will sound the siren!
Ok i did exactly as you did and wxactly as the paper said to do. But it never programs. 04 tahoe, looks to be the same exact remote you have. Any ideas? My luck is complete crap
so thankful to you! it worked like a charm. i tried following this fat heads video who was more concerned with complaining about how cold it was outside rather than focusing on the instructions, and all i got was frustrated. thanks again. sin razorback
Thanks for info Just got two for my Chevy Silverado and didn't know how to do it and this video was extremely helpful in explaining how to program them.
worked like a charm. I thought I had a bad FOB but turns out, it just lost connection when I changed the battery. Thank You. I just wish my auto start from bulldog replacement key fob was just as easy. 70 bucks for the FOB and I can't figure it out. I followed the instructions but i'm assuming that the remote starter might be bad or blew a fuse.
Yesterday, my fob stopped working. So I though it was the battery. Bought a new battery and tried to do the reprogram. After turning the ignition key on and off twice, while holding done the unlock button on the door panel, the door locks cycle, then the horn beeps. Then I hold both buttons on the fob. I've waited close to a minute and nothing happens. I tried this with two other fobs and nothing happens. I cycle the ignition on and off to en the program cycle. Any ideas what's wrong?
Thank you very much i got a remote out of a junk truck and it programed right to my tahoe.. Out of a pick-up... Thanks again cause the dealer said it it $150 and i paid nothing for the remote so i definitely made out... Thanks again
Thank you I was able to reprogram an old keyless fob that I had so saved a few bucks now I only have to pay for the extra key.was really able to do it in less than a minute.
There are tricks to get this far. 1. Take the unit apart carefully. 2. Lay the circuit board aside. 3. Wash the plastic and the rubber with a mild detergent like Ivory or dish soap and an old toothbrush. Rinse thoroughly! 4. Dry thoroughly with a paper towel. 5. Now take the circuit board and look carefully at the “horseshoe” battery holder. Make sure it is soldered well in all three places. If not take it to a friend that can solder and repair it. The replacement battery is a CR2032 and can be purchased at WalMart or many other places. Be careful while changing the battery not to break the “horseshoe” off the circuit board. 6. Take a pencil with a clean eraser and on the circuit board the rubber keypads hit it polish them lightly until they shine. 7. Reassemble the unit carefully and I guarantee it will perform a lot better. Now you don’t have to hit it two or three times to get it to work!
Just bought a new fob at an auto parts store. When I hold down both buttons on the fob during that stage of the programming, I get no response from the truck. It's almost as if the remote fob has no battery...but it does. Do you think this battery could be dead in the fob; as if it died as the fob was on the shelf at the parts store? Or do you think there's something else wrong with the truck which interferes with the fob's ability to communicate with the vehicle?
Thanks for not making a 30 min video on this 3 min project. Lol awesome job.
I know right!!😁
Thank you so much for this helpful video clip thank you for showing it describing it is greatly appreciate it. You're awesome you're the best.
Ok easy just programmed my two new ones from ebay
It’s 2024 and I needed this video. Thank you for saving me $200 and a trip to some mechanic shop. Greatly appreciated, brother.

Very helpful. Just bought two new remotes on Amazon for only $20. Your video helped me program them in just a few minutes
They told me to turn the key 3 times and I had to return the remote twice because I thought it wasn't working the woman from customer support had an attitude but this right here worked thank you so much
Worked first try, on a 2004 Chev Suburban K2500!

Thanks for the confusion, the video did just fine.
Thank you for this. I've tried a few different times and it worked once but I think I messed it up when I tried separately to program another fob. I'm going take all this information and give it a try tomorrow!

Glad it worked for you!! I despise being gouged! Happy Motoring ;)
Patty Jarrett I just ordered a new remote for my 2001 chevy cavalier, and it said the same, I'm gonna try this first
Make sure and keep me posted- it worked like a charm for me. I still have car and the same remote! you should no trouble if you go by this video. Good luck! I'll be waiting to see how it goes. =)
Ebay has them cheaper i got 2 for $10 shipped
Holy shit. I only paid about 9$ for my remote.
Just for those who try this and don't have the locks cycle, still continue. I thought it wasn't working for me but then I tried the remote and it worked even though the locks never cycled during programming.
You posted this on my sister's birthdays which interestingly enough just sold me her 1999 GMC Suburban so it was meant to be, thank you for posting

The procedure really works. I had both a 2001 Suburban and a 2001 Yukon.
But now I own a 2002 Suburban and I've already bought twice devices and I do know why it never works.
Took me 3 try's, I didn't turn the key to reset memory after the procedure. Thank you so much EH's

By the way, for anyone who may be wondering... I was able to do this on a 2005 Chevy Tahoe PPV (ex-state trooper police truck) and it worked great!
Its very well explained in the video i followed the instructions to program mine and it work and it is a used remote thank god

Apparently, it takes a max of 4 keyfobs.
My truck doesn't have the first step. The one where you hold the unlock button. Doesn't lick at all. Help

I watched the ads since you took the time to make this video.
Hey thank you!! That was a great trick about all the remotes at once. That was frustrating me like crazy. Good job on the video!! It was easy to follow, just right. Ray from TEXAS

so thankful to you! it worked like a charm. i tried following this fat heads video who was more concerned with complaining about how cold it was outside rather than focusing on the instructions, and all i got was frustrated. thanks again. sin razorback
Thanks for info

I just wish my auto start from bulldog replacement key fob was just as easy. 70 bucks for the FOB and I can't figure it out. Thanks. Going to try this on a 2005 Chevy Classic. Did you say after a battery swap, need to perform this?
I don’t leave feedback, but on this one had to. Worked first time. Thank you
what would work for the 2005 chevy aveo?
I have a 2004 Silverado and it has the remote start on it also. Will this make the remote start for it work also?
It took like 20-25secs but it worked for my "01 Tahoe, great job
Worked for me. Nice to have extra remotes working. Thanks
It was so useful in my GMC Safari 2000. Thanks.
What about the Remote Low Battery on the display? Do You have to reprogram the fobs to reset the display?
Thanks! Worked like a champ. Appreciate you posting this.
