@@BibleLine So, an unbeliever will have eternal life, and if you do not believe, according to 1 John 5:10 "He who does not believe God has made him a liar...". So, a believer can become an unbeliever and make God a liar, and he will still be saved.....
1 John 3:15 " Any one who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him"....
Anyways, it is apparent that you "believe" for about three seconds and then there is nothing else in the bible that you have to do. I actually walked this journey. I once was a person who believed in the Lord and professed my love for Him as a child and then got into new age/demonic teachings for 15 years and became a psychic medium/astrologer. I got so deep to the point where I no longer believed Jesus was a real person. I recently came back to Christ 9 months ago after having a person encounter with Jesus in my apartment and got baptized a month later. So I truly believe it is Gods will not to loose a single one. ❤

A very good answering to the 3rd question. That charismatics fail to see it is not signs that do anything, but charity, and giving the gospel thats important. The healing of the inside is that very miracle they fail to see. When a person believes in the Son of God for the 1st time, thats the healing that counts.

Question: in 2:50 you said that you don't have to love God to get to heaven, but then 1 Corinthians 16:22 says that if anyone does not love the Lord, let that person be accursed. Even in the Greek the same word that was used in Galatians 1:8-9, anathema, was also used for this specific verse. So how can a person who claims to believe in God not love the Lord while the bible says those who don't are basically damned?

When you believe in Christ, you receive a new birth (born again), but you still have your old sinful birth too (flesh). The old birth hates God. He will die.
The new birth abides in Christ continually, and he loves God. This is why the choice is up to us whether we walk in the Spirit or walk in the flesh.
Therefore, can the believer choose to hate God and still end up in heaven? Yes, but only his new nature will go to heaven. The old birth will die, and we will receive new bodies in heaven. 1 Cor. 15:50-54

    Ezekiel 18:21-32 ESV
[21] “But if a wicked person turns away from all his sins that he has committed and keeps all my statutes and does what is just and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. [22] None of the transgressions that he has committed shall be remembered against him; for the righteousness that he has done he shall live. [23] Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord God, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live? [24] But when a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice and does the same abominations that the wicked person does, shall he live? None of the righteous deeds that he has done shall be remembered; for the treachery of which he is guilty and the sin he has committed, for them he shall die. [25] “Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ Hear now, O house of Israel: Is my way not just? Is it not your ways that are not just? [26] When a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice, he shall die for it; for the injustice that he has done he shall die. [27] Again, when a wicked person turns away from the wickedness he has committed and does what is just and right, he shall save his life. [28] Because he considered and turned away from all the transgressions that he had committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die. [29] Yet the house of Israel says, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ O house of Israel, are my ways not just? Is it not your ways that are not just? [30] “Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, declares the Lord God. Repent and turn from all your transgressions, lest iniquity be your ruin. [31] Cast away from you all the transgressions that you have committed, and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why will you die, O house of Israel? [32] For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord God; so turn, and live.”

OSAS or as you put it "Eternal Life" is conditional.
It is like a warranty. You are protected as long as you do not violate the conditions of the warranty. Or in this case you have eternal life as long as you don't violate the condition. And that condition is you must maintain your faith.
You are saved by faith you must maintain it. All arguments in favor of "eternal life" have the implication of being on the condition of maintaining your faith. Several verses come to mind.

The difference between the Israelites in the OT and believers in the NT, is the OT Israelites were not sealed with the Holy Spirit. And because the Sprite of Christ is in us, we do not willfully or rejoice to commit sin as they did. Do we still sin? Yes we do….because Paul talks about the “Body of death” we carry in Romans 7:24. He is speaking to Roman believers and they understood what he meant when he said that. For the crime of murder, the Romans would tie the dead corpse to the murderer ( their victim) and they would live out the rest of their sentence that way as the dead flesh from the body would rot into the person carried it until they died. We will continue to sin, not willingly, because of our dead flesh. Which is why John said if anyone sins, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

James 2:19 has a context that is very important.
The demons know they cannot be saved, and they know their destiny. They “tremble” because they know the power of Christ. The point of that verse is not salvific, but it is to point to the fact that the demons are busy in light of their coming judgment (2:12-14)
Believers are saved because they believed in Christ for the full payment of their sins. Nothing more, nothing less.
      - Trent

    • @JamesClark-le7hu
      @JamesClark-le7hu 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@BibleLine you see I think it’s a bit more simple than that. It seems like James is clearly trying to teach us about what living faith looks like. These demons believe intellectually; they believe the correct facts about God. But that clearly is not enough for salvation. What living faith, or saving faith, looks like is a faith that produces works.
James saying that works are necessary in an indicative sense is not the same thing as someone saying that works are necessary in an initiative sense. These works indicate that we are saved, but the works do not initiate our salvation. They especially indicate that we are saved to other men, because they cannot see our hearts. But it also provides assurance to believers because they can see the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives.
I guess I just don’t see the danger of affirming this. Seems pretty simple and straightforward.

Jesus didn’t come to save demons, he came to save us. That’s really the simplest answer. They believe because they know he is real and fear Him but they don’t “believe” on Him for their salvation and eternal life.

It is difficult to judge a person if he truly believes in the Lord Jesus or not, usually, we look at his fruit or lifestyle but only God knows his heart so if he believes in the Lord Jesus who redeemed his sin he is save and a person indwelt by the Holy Spirit or Spirit of Christ and speak with the help of God's Spirit will not say that Christ is cursed but if he is a true believer and this is the case, the Holy Spirit will convicts him.

Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

Here's a few of the most clear verses are 2 Cor 10: 3-6; 1 Peter 4: 1-2; 2 Peter 1: 10; 1 John 3: 6, 3: 9, 5: 18;

The scriptures that may SEEM to teach sin is inevitable have good explanations. For example, Romans 3 is likely referring to earthly fleshly men but believers are heavenly and born of Gd. What about trusting in Js crucifixion and resurrection? If you've read the abundance of scripture then you'd know that Gd doesn't "forgive" anyone the same way humans forgive. He's the Truth itself and the arbiter and substrate of all reality. He can't just pretend believers are innocent so he recreates the believer as a second separate individual. The old man bears all the guilt while the new man is completely innocent. If anyone is born of Gd then it's impossible for them to sin so if they should sin then they've abandoned their new man and re-become their old man who isn't sealed nor saved.

And that in Genesis 1 that satan created the serpent race. He says that God didn't make man until Genesis 2 so the serpent race was made first. He used to teach way differently, but now his teachings have become something else. He never really says how to get saved. The only thing he says is that we have to be turned up. If you don't understand the Bible there's no point on preaching cuz now you're getting it to deception yes you have to have faith and believe course everybody knows that what follows faith and belief is obedience you're going to want to do the will of God you're going to love him and you're going to follow his commands but you can only do these things once you believe and have faith these things will follow !!! And if you don't have the desire to do these things and you don't want to it's because you don't have the faith means you do not have the desire to do the Lord asks from you which means without the faith and believe you're not saved!!! this is not rocket science

Now let's do some grade 1 math you need to believe in him to be saved so if you do not love him and you do not obey him and you do not keep his commands this means you don't love him which means you're not saved!!! Holy cow dude! John 14:23 say "Jesus replied, 'Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching." So, you're saying someone can believe in Jesus and not love him? That's exactly what James is talking about when he says, "Even the demons believe---and shudder." Do you think Satan believes in Jesus? If what Jesus says here in John 14 is true, then the opposite also applies. If you DO NOT love Him then the Father and He WILL NOT come into them and make a home in them. If you hate Jesus and are not obedient, He is not in you (John 15, 1 John 2:4-5, 1 John 3:6-10). Such people do not abide in God and He does not abide in Him. (Side note: PLEASE stop using the KJV. It's not a better translation. In fact, it's weaker than the ESV
You also just totally distort your reference to 1 John 3:9. Yes, it says, “No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God.” But, did you even consider what comes right before and after that line?
“8 The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work…10This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.”
So, the one who does what is sinful is of the devil. They don’t belong to God. One who belongs to God cannot continue in those sins (or go to them later in life). This is really simple stuff. It’s not hard to understand what John is saying here.
Your butchering of scripture is so bad it makes me think you’re intentionally deceiving.
(Side note: PLEASE stop using the KJV. It's not a better translation. In fact, it's weaker than the ESV or NASB--it uses less manuscript copies and ones that are much older, rather than the earliest. Having the Word put in 16th century English is just unnecessarily difficult. That Hebrews passage is almost unintelligible in the KJV. Why do it?)

I don’t get it. You said 1 Cor 13 clearly teaches that the gifts ceased. Then you read some verses that show that love is the highest virtue and then stopped and the show was over. You proved nothing that says the gifts would fall away in the early Church.
Plus you said charismatics “worship” signs. This is a lie and slander. I was in a very balanced charismatic church in the 80’s for 7 years. Nobody worshipped signs. The pastor said often that the evidence of being filled with the Spirit was not tongues but a changed life. A fruit filled life.
Also- in answering the question about a believer going into satanic worship you read from Hebrews 10- but said nothing about the many passages throughout the New Testament about spots and blemishes who feast with us. Goats who grow up with the sheep or weeds that grow up with the fruit I think it was- that we should not attempt to weed out because we might pull up the fruit - but let God do that at the end of the age. I believe in eternal security as well - but don’t you believe there’re such a thing as a false convert? Someone who says all the right words but their faith is not genuine or authentic?

His point was that love is more important than the gifts. The completed scripture is the more direct answer as to why we believe they ceased.
We do not have your similar experience, but we must go off of our own. Fruit is a sign of Spirit FILLED, but it is not the sign of the Spirit SEAL. You get sealed by the Spirit when you believe, but you are filled (yielded) with the Spirit when you obey. If you had a proper experience with sound doctrine in your charismatic church, then we have no issue. Sure, we won't broad brush that.
They are not a believer (convert if you desire) if they never believed in Christ. If there was a singular second of time in which they believed in Christ a Savior, then they have eternal security.

That was written to Hebrew believers who were going to go back to animal sacrifices after coming to believe in Christ as the ultimate and real sacrifice, not the former animal sacrifices which were a 'shadow' of things to come. The point was if they turned from Jesus sacrifice back to animal sacrifice their was no forgiveness of sin in animal sacrifices once they came to the knowledge of Christ. The earlier verses are talking about animal sacrifices.

    1. John 14:23 and Obedience:
//To believe in Jesus Christ is to accept His claims, specifically that He is the Son of God, the remission for sin, and to affirm that belief. Salvation is by believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, shed His blood to pay for our sin, was buried, and rose again. Service and obedience are separate matters for disciples.//
While it's true that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9), your interpretation creates an unnecessary dichotomy between faith and obedience. John 14:23 clearly connects love for Jesus with obedience to His commands. This isn't about earning salvation but about the transformative effect of genuine faith. As James 2:17 states, "faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead." True faith results in a desire to obey Christ, reflecting a heart changed by the Holy Spirit.
Obedience to Christ's commands is a natural outflow of genuine faith and love for Him. While salvation is by faith alone, a true believer will demonstrate their faith through their actions (James 2:18). John 14:23 emphasizes that obedience is evidence of our love for Christ, not a condition for salvation.
    2. Rejection of Christ and Consequences:
//This passage suggests a loss of reward or opportunities, severe discipline, or even being taken home prematurely. Despite such rejection, the new nature in believers remains sinless, as stated in 1 John 3:9, and they will still inherit eternal life.//
The notion that a true believer can completely turn to satanic worship and still be guaranteed salvation undermines the transformative power of regeneration. Hebrews 10:26-31 warns of the severe consequences for those who "deliberately keep on sinning after receiving the knowledge of the truth." This isn't just about losing rewards; it's about the peril of apostasy, indicating that such a person never truly belonged to Christ (1 John 2:19).
True believers are secure in Christ (John 10:28-29), but a complete and willful turn to satanic worship suggests a false conversion. The new nature in Christ leads to holiness (2 Corinthians 5:17), and persistent, unrepentant sin indicates a lack of genuine faith (1 John 3:6).
    3. Charismatic Movements and Spiritual Gifts:
//While denominations may differ, my primary affiliation is to the word of God. The cessation of spiritual gifts, as described in 1 Corinthians 13, highlights that love is paramount.//
1 Corinthians 13:8-10 does mention the ceasing of certain gifts, and it indicates that these gifts will cease "when the perfect comes." The "perfect" here is often understood to mean the completion of the New Testament canon. Once the full revelation of Scripture was available, the foundational gifts, such as prophecy and tongues, were no longer necessary. The focus shifts to love, which endures forever and is the ultimate expression of Christian maturity.
Spiritual gifts such as tongues and prophecy were foundational for the early church but ceased with the completion of the New Testament canon. The enduring principle is love, which remains the greatest and most essential gift (1 Corinthians 13:13). This view emphasizes the sufficiency of Scripture for guiding the church in all matters of faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
