  • Is Michael Pearl correct concerning his view of salvation? Does the believer have to show evidence in his life as some proof of true conversion?
!!! This is not an attack on the man, but we have the desire to defend against his false message !!! ‪@thedoormichaelpearl‬

      Great question here's what I think .
We are to root out the works of the flesh which hinder our spiritual man hence the phrasing flesh and spirit together.
      John 6:63
[63]It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
So it's not about perfecting the flesh, as Jesus says the flesh profits nothing, but how we use our flesh maybe in the fear of God.
      Galatians 5:19-21
[19]Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
[20]Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
[21]Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
There's the list of the works of the flesh which we're supposed to cleanse ourselves from which would hinder our spiritual man from living his best life.
As it further states in Galatians they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh as another on this comment has pointed out.
So I don't know if I got it right but there's my best answer to your question which was a very good question.
      God bless. ❤

The bible says no murderer can inherit the kingdom of God in 1 John 3:15.

    • @jaythesilverwolf777
      @jaythesilverwolf777 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@Ben_Robertson Look at the verse close. If you hate a brother or sister or anyone you are a murderer at heart. It's not talking about physical murder. Just like also how Jesus said if you look at someone with lust you are a adulterer at heart. And let's be honest we do that all the time. A lot of people do say it's only a sin if you act on it. Well the Lord says otherwise. I'm assuming your position is you can't be a murderer even though God's word says you are at heart if you hate. Nothing else matters? What about other sins we do and commit every day? Jesus Paid for those but not murder? Did the Lord say it is finished? Did he do the full perfect finished work? If there was any sin greater the Lord failed but he didn't and cannot fail. However! If someone is in a position for salvation they believe put their faith and trust in Christ. They are saved no matter what because that's the only requirement. I do hope and pray that the person will not continue to do physical murder. Even though the person salvation is paid for and secured sealed until the day of redemption. They're still going to be life consequences. It will be a very rough life may experience loss of blessings rewards in heaven and may experience an early physical death. But! Never loss of salvation. Why or how? Because the Lord paid it in full. We can also look at Jeffrey Dahmer I believe he's in heaven today. Why? Because he believed. Even though he was a horrible evil man but the Lord still gave him Grace and still paid for his sins all of them. And you know what? We are no better than anyone else. Every single one of us are sinners and deserve hell. But praise the Lord who came down here and offer himself as a sacrifice to pay the full payment of our sins and so we can be reconciled and have everlasting life. Now that is love and good news my friend and praise the Lord that we don't have to be perfect the Lord has already taken care of that.

@@jaythesilverwolf777 you are blind. It says he who hates his brother is a murderer and no murderer inherits eternal life. It's clearly saying murderers in general cannot inherit eternal life and hate is a form of murder.

    • @jaythesilverwolf777
      @jaythesilverwolf777 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@Ben_Robertson Did you not see what I said? I did not say real adulterers. I said and the Lord said within your heart when you lust for someone you are a adulterer even if physical was not involved. Yes if you hate you are a murderer at heart even if physical was not involved. And like I said we all do it man we hate people or don't like people and we lust for people. Like I said you and I are no better or anybody else and I know you do it I do it too I don't like it but I do it that's our flesh. And all have sinned and will continue to sin. Believers and non-believers. But the good news for the believer our Salvation is secured and nothing can forfeit it.
So tell me what are you saying? What is it that we have to do to be saved be forgiven of all sin again (ALL) not some all! And have eternal life? Is it within ourselves can we work for it? Or is there only one way?

Well I am very conflicted here. I have been watching Mike Pearl for quite some time now. I have found Him to be Biblically correct. While We sure are not saved by works. The Bible makes it VERY ! plain that if people continue a wicked lifestyle of lying ,fornicating, looking with lust, hate of murder. A person who still dose such things. Will not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven I firmly believe that Jesus died for my sins, and that He rose again. I am still battling addiction to porn, cigarettes and pot. The question I had to ask myself is… do I trust Him enough to run to Him in my pain? Or am I running to something else to “take the edge off”. Still addicted to cigarettes at the moment and it’s ok. One thing at a time I guess. Make no mistake, when I decided to cry to Him (literally) in that moment, it was one of the hardest things I’ve done. I begged for His supernatural peace in that moment. It broke me but in a good way. It’s not works brother. It’s a question of whether or not we believe He will pick up the pieces. The struggle is REAL and I’m praying for you. You can do this!

No Christian inherits the kingdom of heaven.
Every Christian believer is an adopted child in the kingdom of God. A part of the royal family and irrevocably so.
You could watch Mike Pearl's eight kingdom series to gain biblical insight into this.
Mike knows better and went off of the rails on this one.
Flesh cannot inherit the kingdom of God and corruption doesn't inherit incorruption.
You might struggle with sin until the day that you die and you're still saved.
The evidence is the fact that you are even bothered by it.
Some of the holier than thou preachers that preach damnable heresies could be saved and still be least among some wicked sinners even though they lead some folks to the Lord, simply because they perverted God's words.
He holds his words above his name.
Interesting fact if you follow Mike's channel, he was stricken with a very serious and near fatal blood infection shortly after he released this video.
Most of his doctrine is fairly sound but he has some questionable ones.
For instance, "if they went out from us, it was because they were not of us". He applies this scripture to believers who departed from the faith and says that they were never really saved. That isn't at all what Paul was talking about.
He was talking about ones who corrupt the gospel with works.

About 3 years ago, I listened to Michael Pearl talk about how Calvinist and Arminians were wrong. He basically said you have eternal security, but only if you keep believing.... He then went to 2 Timothy 2:12 and quoted "if we deny him, he also will deny us" and he said that is a pretty clear verse on how you will lose it. I was thinking in my head "how is he going to explain verse 13" because I knew verse 13....you know what he did? He didn't even read verse 13, which says, "If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself". He didn't ever bother to read the verse that would refute his position. That is why it is so important to know you Bible. There are so many "teachers" on youtube now and they are promoting all sorts of false doctrine. I always think of 2 Timothy 4:3... about how it easy to "heap to themselves teachers". With TH-cam, you can heap them all day long.

How do you deal with Gal 6:8?

    • @TommyB4Jesus
      @TommyB4Jesus 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@into-christ In the previous verse, Paul reinforced the universal principle that people reap what they sow in life. Job said something similar, "As I have seen, those who plow iniquity and sow trouble reap the same" (Job 4:8). The crops we get will be decided by the seed we put in the ground. In other words, natural cause and effect still applies, both to the Christian and to the unbeliever.
      But in two separate places...
One place is after we die, Spiritual Context.
Christians will be at the Judgment seat of Christ and unbelievers will be at the great white throne of Judgment, eternal punishment in hell.
The other is here, if we sow to the spirit we will live longer healthier lives and to the flesh destruction.
Christians can be handed over to satan for the destruction of the flesh so their spirit can be saved 1 Corinthians 5:5.
Paul now clarifies this principle of sowing and reaping, in the context of the Spirit of God. Paul has demonstrated in his letter that it is possible to "sow to the flesh," meaning to invest our lives in serving ourselves, through two different mistakes.
One mistake is that of legalism. The Judaizers were urging the Galatians to trust their flesh in the sense that they wanted them to hope that their attempts to follow the law of Moses would make them justified before God (Galatians 2:4).
Paul says to those who would trust their own effort in this way that what they will reap, instead, is corruption. That's because the product of our "flesh," our ability to do good in our own power with our bodies, is poisoned with sin. It can't grow the good crop of righteousness and eternal life. In other words we cannot work our way into heaven.
At the same time, some of the Galatian Christians were apparently "sowing to the flesh" by doing whatever felt good to their bodies. They were indulging in sin. The result would be the same for them as it was for the legalists: a harvest of corruption.
Eternal life is only available through the power of God's Spirit. Those who "sow to the Spirit" in that they are trusting Christ for salvation and receiving God's Spirit by faith in Jesus finished work and blood and righteousness will receive eternal life. Romans 3:21-26
Those that continue to live in the strength of God's Spirit may bear the fruit described in Galatians 5:22-23.
Those that don't are still saved but probably not fruitful Christians.

If you don't have the Gospel right, you got nothing. NOBODY builds their house before laying a SURE foundation. Jesus alone is the SURE foundation, and no other foundation can be laid. Any other foundation is building on sinking sand. it will never stand. If doctrine is used to create a gospel, you are building backwards. Doctrine must always be built on the Gospel.

One of the children was Lydia Schatz. Their “parents” ( 2 were adopted parents) used his book to influence them on how they should discipline their children… corporal punishment. Just devastating. Sadly, there are so many child sexual and physical abuse cases in extreme IFB churches. The focus on outwardly looking good to others but neglecting more important matters of the heart are very unhealthy.

I wouldn't say he's a frontloader and has a good Biblical understanding of repentance unto salvation affirming change of mind not turning from sin. However, as Jesse succinctly points out, his emphasis on a changed life after salvation and not committing certain sins is nothing but backloaded works. This gives no assurance to the struggling saint and produces an environment that becomes spiritually abusive with introspective performance evaluation and going back to receive Christ all over again to try and make one more assured with better performance outcomes next time around. That is not resting on the Finished Work and a trap many truly saved Christians can fall into stunting spiritual growth if not becoming paralysed altogether.

I agree with your rebuking of this guy's doctrine, but I must say I do not agree with your belief of loss of rewards and discipline. Our reward is Christ when we die. I mean, are you suggesting that some will have more rewards in heaven because they did more works? Like, some guy is going to be a janitor becausehe was an alcoholic, and another is royalty because he obeyed commands more? I'm not saying you said that, but I would like to clarify. Thank you.

    • @BibleLine
      @BibleLine  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

We’ve received this response a few times here and there, and I’m happy to respond. I realize off hand, it may seem like heaven will have envy of sorts. We know this is impossible as no sin will be there.
The rewards apparently do not translate to such a system in heaven. The illustration of the janitor, trash pickup, or some stinky job in heaven is also a bit fallacious (strong word, I know) because it assumes those things also happen in heaven. I know, it’s hyperbole, but we must be fair here.
Let me explain why we believe there is some sort of rewards for believers, and why we believe believers are also discipline for lack of service. Note: all of this has zero to do with any saving aspect of the believer into eternal life.
      Scriptures: 1 Cor. 3:10-16, James 2:12-14, 2 Cor. 5:10-11.
Evidently there is a judgment for believers, and that judgment is based upon the believer’s works. 1 Cor. 3 notes that the man “shall be saved yet do as by fire.” It appears that believer’s works shall be tested by “fire” to determine if they were profitable or unprofitable. Wood, hay and stubble would burn, but the precious materials like gold will obviously not burn up.
God rewards the believer with something (idk what) somehow if he does work that pleases the Lord.
James has much harsher warning towards hypocritical believers. You sit in your faith (you’re saved), but you aren’t working! Lazy Christianity is condemned - not to hell… - I refer to fleshly living (Romans 8:1).
God disciplines his children for living in sin. This is evident according to Hebrews 12. God does not do this in anger, nor is he doing some form of wrathful punishment like that which hangs over an unbeliever’s head. It’s a Father-child relationship. What Father would He be that doesn’t correct His children?
Idk if this is helps. I know some write off Hebrews, James, 1 John and etc… but I see that as error also. The writers address believing (sure, Jews primarily) members in the body of Christ.
      Thank you,
      - Trent

You are just so wrong about the warnings Paul speaks to the saved about not (living) according to the flesh, you died to sin, how can we (live in it) any longer. Paul's not saying it's impossible not to (live in) sin after we're saved(but you are.). No, Pauls gives them the ultimate warning of "you will not inherit the kingdom of God," if you live that way. It's in Ephesians, it's in 1 Corithiians, it's in Galatians. To (live in) sin is not the same as committing a sin. As faithful Christians we walk(live in) in the light as he is in the light. However, we still commit sin(and the blood of Jesus continally cleanseth us from all sin). "Living" in sin, is the opposite of walking in the light, it is the person who as Peter says has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his sins and he is likened to a pig that get's cleaned off(saved) and then returns to the mire. THe latter state being worse than the first. That's what the warnings are for. For Christians not to keep on sinning. These warnings by Paul are not adressed to unbleievers, they are adressed to the church.

So few seem to really get the gospel and the difference between salvation unto eternal life and the sanctification/growth or lack thereof in scripture. In the same section of Scripture synonyms for the unrighteous are used ie unjust(unjustified) and unbelievers which is the context of that chapter which follows chapter 3 that clearly says some believers will have zero rewards though they themselves will he saved.

Calvinists will even debate about the thief on the cross.
I was talking to a Calvinist and his argument was that the thief was saved but only because Jesus knew he couldn’t get down from the cross and sin again, if there was a chance he could get down he wouldn’t be saved.
Sometimes it’s just like, I give up talking to these lordshippers.
I went to a new church group who say no work’s required, went to see how they preached the gospel on the street and all they spoke about was their changed lives and what they don’t do anymore and then one did a sermon for a youth group and said repent of your sins, I looked over at lead pastors and he was nodding, I’m like oh no. Spoke to the young guy and explained what roys is and he said oh yeah it’s not of works. Later I find out he likes listening to Ray Discomfort. I passed on Ralph Yankee Arnold, Jesse & Ono Diamanté videos to him and found out later his head pastor told him not to watch anything I send him. They call themselves “the brethren”. Women have to wear head coverings in church, Sounds like a cult.
I went along one more time after I had a few discussions about not of works and a salvation is a free gift to the young guy, would nod his head like he’s in agreement but then he was preaching later to people on the street saying that they need to have relationship with Jesus. Like it’s in one ear out the other.

The Bible says it is His life that gives us life. Forgiveness of sin doesn't save you. Believing in the promise of eternal life is what saves you. Because you are forgiven, sin is no longer a barrier between you and God. But, unbelief in the promise of eternal life is the barrier.

You should turn from sin. Jesus clearly talked about it and so did the saints after him. Let’s be honest, none of us are above sin, nor are we able to be without it, but we should turn from it. We should. The problem with this is that alcoholism, murder, rape, homosexuality, and adultery become excuses then. “Oh, well I’ve got Christ. Let me just keep sinning.” When you sin, you repent to God. You never lose your salvation, but the basic principle of not displeasing God should make you want to do better.

They always take James's comments on the premise of belief in regards to salvation out of context bringing it into conflict with Paul. Thinking you're justified by works. Jesus has no context if belief + works was necessary because you'd literally witness no change aside from what Abraham himself had, save for the fact that he directly interacted with God.
So having said, James was and is always talking about how to be an effective disciple in discerning whether or not someone is saved for their sake. Thanks for the video Jesse. God can see the belief, you do not need to express it outwardly, but this will inevitably occur as you clearly believe without compulsion, (NOT IN EVERYTHING you do).
Ephesians 2:8 - establishes it is by grace you are saved -
Romans 4:5 - which says work isn't required for salvation -
Romans 11:6 - which defines grace as belief, and indicates with Ephesians 2:8 that faith is not a work -
James is talking about how to discern a believer from an unbeliever by examining their fruits, not having outwardly fruits CAN be a sign that you're unsaved, but James doesn't have the power to see a person's heart and intent, for even those who DO works may be unbelievers merely deceiving themselves with the law as if they are to obey it. Legalistic Pharisee. (Matthew 7:23) What makes you different between the Demons who believe? Jesus, and the faith that he died for you. Because there is no Savior for Demons.

Thats pride, and god wants nothing to do with it. People whom believe and people whom don't believe both work. Can you see their heart to verify which one is saved and which one isn't? This is james's point, hes talking to believers. They're already saved. This is about discipleship.

Context is important. The thing they were to remember is Christ’s resurrection.
The point isn’t that a person has to keep remembering that Christ died for them literally 100% of the time. We forget, and we forget easily. Every time we sin, we are denying Christ.
The point being made is that they are saved eternally IF Jesus rose. Read the next 15 verses. If Christ isn’t raised, we will not rise. We have no hope, and we are believing in vain (for no reason) if Jesus isn’t alive.

I am not sure how different I was at 8 when I first believed the Gospel than I was at 7 when I was a catholic because my family wa at that point. Preachers like Michael Pearl before swine love to set up believers for a lifetime of doubt and self reliance.

Awesome breakdown, Jesse! It makes me angry that he is putting fear into the hearts of those children. Men in that type of church enjoy being the "authority" and really making up their own rules by twisting Scripture. I would like to hear from his mouth how he is so pious and how he maintains a level of holiness that is pleasing to God. In my experience, people like that have the most skeletons in their closet.

The point is you will change. You are a new creature. If you truly believe in our Lord and Savior Jesus, our Christ, you will want to do our Fathers will and follow His teachings. You will do so because you love Him, fear Him, and respect Him. I didnt watch the full video, but I will show old Pearl some grace if he misspoke. Plenty of times he has preached the truth on this matter.

You need to substantiate the claim “if you truly believe in our Lord and Savior Jesus, our Christ, you will want to do our Fathers will…”
It is very possible for a saved individual to go sideways, apostasize and live a sinful life. Not preferred, and it is commanded against. Nonetheless, it is possible.
This is due to the believer’s fleshly sinful nature (Gal. 5:16-21).

@BibleLine In all due respect, Trent, how would anyone who truly knows our Lord be able to turn away unless the individual really didn't know Him in the first place? His sheep hear when He calls. I agree we are all weak and will fall short many times throughout our life, though I am not fully convinced it's possible that those who hear Him could ever truly turn away. Maybe that is nor what you meant, and if not, forgive me. If you just meant of our weaknesses, I agree.

Doesn't the New Testament imply that salvation is not a covenant between two parties but rather a "testament" that is only in affect after the death of the testator? My understanding is that it is more like a will declaring what the dead has left to their heirs. According to the Bible, whoever believes that Jesus paid for their sins, rose from the dead to give them eternal life, shall rule and reign with Him in eternity. This is the "will" that Jesus endorsed/sealed by His death and resurrection. It is not a covenant between two parties. The New Covenant is for the Jews during the millennium.

It began with the original covenant God made with Abraham. This is found in Genesis 15. It's an unconditional covenant, and all Abe had to do was believe it. We are found justified the same as Abe when we believe in Christ. Salvation has been the same since the very beginning.

Thank you for clearing up the “confusion”, of which God is not the author!!
Brother Isaiah recorded “the battle of the warrior is the blood soaked garment(shame) and the confused noise. I am getting more clear each and every day as to what He meant when recording these words.

What it comes down to is Michael Pearl walks by sight and not faith.
