  • Greg Sereda of Bible Flock box teaches 5 steps for a persons to be saved.
    1. Admit you are a sinner
    2. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ
    3. Repent of your sins
    4. Confess your sins
    5. Make Jesus Lord of your life
Jesse praises the truth and exposes the error in this muddy gospel message.

I used to watch Bible Flock Box years ago, along with Living Waters, Todd Friel, etc... I would always have extremely heavy burdens and intrusive thoughts of going to Hell because I didn't "repent of my sins" enough. Once I understood the 'true' gospel (free grace), my burdens and worries were instantly lifted. I thank you (Bibleline/Pastor Jesse), Pastor Yankee, and Pastor Cucuzza. Thank you so much for teaching me (and many others) the true way! Please continue to lovingly rebuke these false teachers!

I've asked Jesus to forgive me after I've sinned, even though i know that he paid my sin debt in full when he died for me. I feel stupid for asking for forgiveness when he has already forgiven me. Now i know that I'm truly saved because there is nothing i can do at all, but what Jesus has done that saved me. I've been trying not to sin, but I'm not perfect, and i still fall short of the glory of God. Every day is a struggle because I'm in the flesh, but I'm trying to learn to be obedient.

@@user-hv1mm4io8e so when John the Baptist called people to repent, what were they repenting of or from exactly? If repent only means change of mind from not believing Jesus to believing in Him, then why wasn't their responses " John, I wasn't believing but now I am?! " We actually see the opposite taking place. They would say " Ive been sinning in this way...but now I'm not! " 2 Corinthians 7 says that a godly sorrow leads to repentance unto salvation. What were they sorry over? Their sin!

The thief had no results besides believing. Rahab was still a harlot. King Saul committed suicide. Paul said he is chief of sinners and all are in heaven because of thier belief.

I got a comment once from someone who was a calvanist and said the only reason Jesus saved the thief on the cross was because he couldn’t get down off the cross to commit anymore sins.
Just crazy how they can twist or read any ideas into scripture to suit their theology. I’m like well he could still have bad thoughts while up on the cross and curse out someone in his dying breath, do those sins not count and how would YOU know? What you gonna do about that?
The promise is simple and eternal, what an awesome God we have.

I take it that when Jesus said he came not to call the righteous but sinners t repentance that He is alluding to the idea expressed by Paul in Romans 3:10 that 'there is none righteous, no not one" which was earlier stated in Psalm 14. Seems to me that Jesus is saying He came to call all to repent, or change their minds about, turn to, place faith in, the only One who can save.

100%. Like where it talks about those who won’t inherit the kingdom because of this or that sin. The writer isn’t saying sinners won’t inherit the Kingdom. More so that our fleshly body will not inherit the kingdom, as we’re told, flesh and blood shall not enter into Heaven.

@@dough3821 your are incorrect friend- u r trying to explain it away bc u know salvation comes by believing only; however, water baptism is a command for believers- he is telling the Jews to repent (which is the the subject of the sentence) - the word “for” means because of or in view of - so He is telling them Repent(change your mind and be saved), get baptized (in the name of Jesus as commanded for a clear conscience not for salvation) for the remission of sin(get baptized because u repented (repentance caused the remission sins)- some people use the verse this way take a pill “for”(meaning to get a headache) but its really take a pill for (because of) your headache- so read it like this “repent, and be baptized(correctly in the name of Jesus) , and get baptized because your sins are remitted(just for repenting which is changing your mind to believe the Gospel). Repent is what gets u saved. baptism is what saved people do to show men, not God, that their sins are remitted- God wants men to identify with Him publicly because simply he wants to market Himself to the world- seeing a person get baptized will let others know what happened in his heart and others will follow

Great video. Thumbs up. One thing this also reminds me of is another video the same length as this one that I watched in Jan.2016, when Justin peters rightfully exposes the prosperity gospel preaches like the Osteens and the Copelands and all of them for over half of it. Then he spends a few minutes talking about how we are all sinners in need of a savior and our own works can't save us, all good. Then the final 2 & 1/2 minutes, he trots out the repent-of-your-sins/turn-from-sin to be saved. That, in my view, made him just as much of a false teacher as eh ones who he was calling out. Peters is just a different kind of false teacher, same kind as "Bible Flock Box" here. While I was watching that vid, I felt it was so good and accurate that I was considering sharing it on Facebook. Then the final 2.5 minutes of it, I'm like "nope forget it".

Thanks for this much-needed video. Excellent commentary. Salvation is simple (that is, not complex) but it's so simple that many reject it because it doesn't leave room for their own works to aid in their salvation or 'keep them saved'. (It is Jesus, the good Shepherd who keeps his sheep. John 6:39)
Jesus did it all. Any righteousness a human can claim can only be the righteousness of Jesus Christ imputed to us and nothing else. Salvation is Faith + nothing.
So many pastors start with a true statement, as was done by Bible Flock, then they begin to muddy it up by adding works. It's a poison of Roman Catholicism that still remains present in too many protestant congregations. To people who hear such preachers with their 'prayer of salvation', it's an obvious contradiction whenever they begin by saying, "All you have to do is believe," then they begin adding other things to the list. So much confusion in today's churchianity!

I do understand the thought process of "You can't just believe, your belief if it is genuine will lead you to change your behavior."
Imagine you are inside a burning building and you don't realize it until you hear a knock on your upstairs wondow and see a firefighter. The fire fighter tells you to come with him and climb down the latter because there is a fire in your home. If you believe the fire fighter about the fire, surely you will take his hand and clinb down the latter qith him right? Where as if you don’t believe the fire fighter you might not leave your home.

    • @BibleLine
      @BibleLine  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

These illustrations fall flat because the firefighter and physical burning building is different than Jesus and a spiritual hell. Jesus saves you when you believe. You are no longer condemned when you believe the FACT that Jesus, the Son of God, died for all your sins.
Evidently God doesn’t need you to move a muscle because he did all the work. Evidently he is a powerful God capable of passing you from death to life solely on the basis of your belief.

Understanding that Jesus is Lord is a good thing because He is Lord. It's important to understand that Jesus is sinless. We can understand who Jesus is when we understand that He came from heaven. Jesus is Our Creator when we put our trust in Him we are putting our trust in God, for Jesus is God.
Jesus was God in the flesh. Only Jesus made a perfect atonement on the cross for our sins.

That is the Southern Baptist Faith and Message false gospel. Billy Graham taught the same thing. I have a copy of a page from a Lifeway Sunday school book titled “Leading Someone To The Greatest Decision Of All.” It’s as if this guy is reading from it. It’s the same steps with the prayer acknowledging the steps,
and making a commitment as part of supposed salvation. This is the Southern Baptist’s flavor of Gnosticism known as Calvinism. It’s very deceptive, as you see in this guy’s video, they give the gospel, and then add works you have to do to prove you have “saving faith.” Satan uses this to get new converts to believe that their works prove that their faith is genuine, rather than believing in Jesus Christ’s payment for all their sin. I grew up in that, and had no idea I was being deceived. I had no idea I was deceiving others. It’s an Antichrist “gospel.”

I do not agree with his interpretation of Mark 2:17. I think it's backwards but doesn't matter that much. They that are sick are the sinners and they need to believe to be whole. 👍 also Romans 10, I think the pasture needs to conflate that we don't need to confess with we inevitably confess when we are believers. If a person has faith in Jesus, then how can you not ever confess that he is your lord? Also will a believer ever do 1 more good work than he would've done if he hadn't believed? I think this is also the same inevitably! Doesn't mean all good works and always doing them but at least one will happen but probably much more than one. I would go as far to say the more fellowship you have then its likely the more good works will be in your life and blessings but works do not save you. 🙌

Are we sure that 1john1 is talking about continue fellowship with god because if it means that then we need to stay confessing to become righteous over and over.. correct me if I’m wrong but I use to think it meant that by peoples word but when I actually started to read it and think about it.. it sounds more like an invitation to believe like hey you can have fellowship with us but even better our fellowship is truly with the father and Jesus like an invitation to an unbeliever and if you walk in darkness and do not acknowledge your sin you do not know the truth and then it talks about his blood cleanses us for ALL of our sin( like it does when we believe) then he says if we have no sin we deceive ourselves I take it as him saying if you don’t acknowledge your sin and your need for a savior you are deceived and then he goes on to talk about but if you confess your sins he is faithful and just ti forgive us of all our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness ( like when we first believe) and then the last verse I take that as rejection of the Holy Spirit like saying no I don’t have sin I don’t need Jesus’s payment and then we call god a liar because we reject the conviction of the Holy Spirit and the truth is not in us ( not saved) I don’t know.. just a thought I’m not a scholar and I don’t know everything but I can’t see that chapter as fellowship.. I see it as an invitation for unbelievers to join us.. I just know from everything you guys and others have has so kindly taught me and from reading my Bible I know that Jesus made me righteous the moment I believed so am I unrighteous again if I don’t confess.. what if I miss some.. I know sometimes we push him aside because of sin but I just don’t know about the fellowship because even if we push him aside he is always there.. like what sins push us out of fellowship and how much of them? I hope this makes sense.. I know when I mess up and I feel guilty but he knows that and I know that but what about the ones I didn’t catch or notice? I know when I have been in a noticeable sin I still prayed and he still answered prayers he never left me even tho I knew I was wrong and felt guilty we both knew I did lol and eventually by his grace I got out of it and back on track but I was never out of fellowship..

its a false definition of repenting - repent means change your mind to believing from trusting self to trusting Christ alone- some falsely use the word repent to mean turn, turn from sin - or falsely stating repent means be sorry for sin or admit guilt or repent of sins(which is not in the Bible)- repent means change your mind just like God repented many times in the old testament

1Pe 2:24-25 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. (25) For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
Hmm - dying to sin and living to righteousness sounds like changed behavior to me.
    1 Pe 1:14-18 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: (15) But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; (16) Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. (17) And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: (18) Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
Wow it seems as if we are called to live holy lives.
Heb 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Wow it seems like living a holy life could be quite important.
Perhaps salvation is contained in the new covenant - sounds logical since this is what Jesus came to do - to do away with the old covenant and inaugurate the new one.
Covenants not only require entering into them, BUT ABIDING in them
Maybe that's why Jesus tells how vital it is to abide in Him (John 15).
    And John confirms this:
1Jn 3:6-10 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. (7) Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. (8) He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. (9) Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. (10) In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God .....
