    • @viktorbryce951
      @viktorbryce951 5 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      Well Mazda it's a start. You've brought back AWD. Now just bring up the HP & Torque alongside a manual option for the enthusiast. Or better yet toss in a Turbo or Supercharger and that 2.5L engine. Stop being so conservative and cheap for once. Is it so wrong to splurge? This is a great step forward but your just not there. It's not the remarkable MS6 of the day but your coming closer to that mile stone. For once I'd just like to be blown out of the water instead of seeing these conservative choices year after year after year.

      The front 50% looks good. The rest of the car looks like an unfinished final paper you submit to your professor. That C pillar/rear quarter panel is ugly as f*ck. The rear looks like a smaller Chevy Traverse. Now you can’t unsee that. I hope they update the mazda 6 with this infotainment and with AWD.

I really appreciate the small details that you guys pointed out like the fact that when the vehicle is moving, the middle portion of the light bulbs will be also on (not just the halos), I agree that the halos alone that light up will be better, what was Mazda thinking. Making the halos alone that light up will differentiate the highest trim between the rest, aesthetic wise. @@joshuawalker7038I am actually currently driving the 6 we leased at the same time. I would still rather have my 3 back, but some circumstances led to me having to get rid of it. Our lease is up for the 6 next month and I wish I could find a 3 used that isn’t crazily priced, but it seems like the manuals were hard to come by and demand a bit of a premium. (Let alone the market is still crazy even if it is starting to subside) It was a great car, still wish they’d put the manual in the turbo 3. I’ve driven it with the auto and it’s fine, but a stick in that would really make it a more true hot hatch.

      @@joshuawalker7038 I guess I didn’t really talk about what I liked/disliked. I’ll do some bullet points.
      -Pros: styling, interior quality, Bose stereo sounded great, good steering, great shifter/clutch, pretty quiet inside, I had some fun backroad drives in it for sure (maybe not quite as fun as my prior mini Cooper s but still fun)reliable-was bulletproof while I had it
      -Cons: backseat is relatively cramped, trunk/hatch isn’t crazy big (always had to fold the back seats for my golf clubs), isn’t amazing in the snow might be tires but awd versions I’ve driven were much better, decent blind spot in the c pillars on both sides. Get around it with good safety tech and rear view camera. Gas mpg was ok for a small naturally aspirated hatch around 27mpg. Maybe I drove it too spirited too often. Hah.
      At the end of the day like my first comment. I’d definitely get one again and would recommend to someone looking for a well styled, fun, almost luxury, reliable hatch.

    I was at a Mazda dealer last week. They actually let me test drive a base model Mazda 3, and it was great! We also drove a mid-trim cx-5, and the base 3 really didn’t feel like a let down! Best driving and feeling cars for entry level price. I like Hyundai tech better, but you really remember the drive Mazdas can give you. My dad is still wowed away by luxury the interior feels

      The massive C-pillar isn't actually the problem when you look at how bulbous and high the rear hatch panel and bumper are compared to the rest of the car. If they made the rear more cohesive with the curvature of the roofline then the Mazda would be shaped like a bullet instead of a gaming mouse.

      The back looks higher than the front, I think mostly because the rear bumper sits so much higher than the sideskirts. And the front end is very sharp but the body lines looked melted down.

Although this car is for my wife I am a firm believer to always have a more power , everything is solved with a little extra power and driver experience.

    Hey great review, got mine in Dark Blue :D. About the wheel buttons, the best way to use them I found is just tilting the middle part of it upwards or downwards and if you need the function on the middle button just press it. At first I was also struggling with those buttons once I started tilting that middle part and got used to it works like a charm and I think that maybe that was the way it was intended to be used haha.
    About the backup camera and android auto, supposedly Android auto is theone that does not support widescreen since Apple car play does use the whole screen (which sucks since I use a Pixel 3) and the backup camera is like that because in EU I think they have a 360 camera but not here unfortunately =/.

  • @verycarey6144
    @verycarey6144 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Mazda3 owner here, at 12:39 you guys mentioned the buttons suck. Well the black buttons actually aren't buttons, they are apart of a switch you push up or down using the middle "silver part button" which is raised slightly to get your thumb under or on top to push up or down. It works perfectly when done right. All the other silver buttons at the bottom are normal buttons and work well.

    I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Mazdas after my '88 MX-6 back in the day. Love the little company doing great things. And while I will admit this isn't my favorite looking Mazda (the C-pillar to hatch area is a little meh and abrupt IMO), it still looks quite nice, and that interior is pretty sick considering its price point. Wish they would do more at the performance end of the spectrum, especially considering their great driving dynamics, but I still very much respect what they're doing with their brand.

    Presently the prettiest hatch in all the land, sedan is also really good ( mini-Mazda 6 with a dash of Mitsubishi Lancer thrown in ) but not the same eye-catching impact as hatch.
    C-Pillar gives the car it's fantastic stance, but also less vision. Loving the clutter-free design execution. FWD manual would be a great pick for the old-school types.
    Along with gloss piano finish, Info screen with tricky thick borders needs to go ASAP.
    Great Review guys and fantastic camera/extreme angles shots/drone.
    Non-related - I think next Impreza could adopt Legacy full vertical table info screen.

    Love the car, love the hatch more, because it reminds me of the original Mazda GLC, with a little bit of Alfa Brera thrown in. I think it has better proportions than the CX-5 and CX-3. Mazda seems to have decided that making cars designed around how much the owner enjoys it will sell more units. There’s just so much to like about them. They feel less appliance like than any competing manufacturer.
