Because they don't have reach. Trying to move up market while having a small presence in US doesn't help their marketing or sales. Mazda got half the dealers in the US compared to Toyota, Honda and Nissan. Even Subaru, Hyundai, and Kia have more dealers. That doesn't mean that they don't make good cars. They are just niche compared to other non-luxury automakers.
Honestly this is a great car. Gives people an option to experience a lot of what makes a luxury car great without having to spend a load of money, and this will definitely be cheaper to maintain in the long run. Definitely one of my favourite cars for this price category.
I'd say its more on the "sportier" side since you get a lot of road feel with the car. When I went from my 2012 Camry to my 21 3 I definitely felt way more of the road which is appreciated.
I have a 3 hatchback NA. I can’t complain, it’s a great car for the price and segment. When you get into turbo territory tho it does get a little hard to justify the cost.

Hey Miles! Loved this video especially from a proud Mazda owner of 1 year 🤣. Your videos definitely inspired me to get my own little Mazda. I wanted to comment about the manual shifting on the car. I can agree it does shift automatically so it beats the purpose. If you ever give it a go again, I recommend messing around with it more. I realized this gearbox it pretty advanced and takes finesse so the system will recognize your in control and let you push it to that 6250 RPM. This car is no BMW or Lexus but man can it do a lot on it own 😁
Thanks for such awesome review, just everything we need. As mentioned before in the comments, good to see the sedan version finally of mazda 3, I'm a bit tired of those hatchback across the youtube xD Thinking of getting this car next year, really cool!
Trying to clear the bots out 💪 I think I loved my Blackwing so much because it was the best of both: V8 muscle with sports car driving dynamics. Choosing between the two is hard!
It did at one point. My 2016 had an independent multi-link rear suspension layout. I think starting in 2020 they Mazda started to use the torsion beam rear suspension.
11:53 I have a 21 Mazda 3 GT N/A 2.5 Automatic trans. It only auto upshifts in manual mode only if you hit the throttle switch at the very 100% throttle. Otherwise, it wont shift up. Not sure if this changes on the 24' models
Have a 21 3 turbo hatch. It's near luxury, but I feel the most need-to-improve area of this generation of Mazda 3 is the chassis/structural rigidity. After 3 years, there are so many creaks and rattles when the pavement is not perfect. The cacophony of those sounds diminishes any "premium" or "luxury" notions Mazda has been pushing towards to. That aside, couple other more practical ones Mazda needs to address in the next generation of Mazda 3: need an independent rear suspension and a hybrid. When a Prius Prime is only 7 HP shy of the turbo on 87 octane gas and gets around 50 MPG with an independent rear suspension, it means this Mazda 3 is getting way too long in the years.
Miles, I know it’s completely unrelated to this video but I just realized that you never did a walkthrough of the Panamera without commentary vid where you show off all of the materials of a car. Can you please consider making one if you come across a 971 or 971.2 Panamera with full leather everywhere? I know there are some that can have the door sills, steering column, side dashboard, and steering base all covered in leather. Do the normal ones come with leather in the lower door parts as well? A full video would be great!
Generally good effort, I think the 2018 Buick Verano Turbo is the closest car to compare this too, albeit the Mazda interior is much nicer. If it is anything like my 2016-6 a set of some really good tires would be transformative, upgrading to Michelin Pilots improved the dynamics and ride comfort markedly in my 6 Touring. If I were in the market for a compact class non luxury branded sedan it would be between this and new Civic Hybrid. I am not sure if we will get a next gen 3 though as its sales are pretty miniscule compared to its SUV line up.
Not a bad car at all, but no cold seats, no rear ac, no power adjust for the passenger seat and no usb at the rear is absolutely UNNACEPTABLE ! For a brand that's trying to be " upscale " !

What are your mod choices? I think I'm getting a M3TAWD as the only other car that has what I want and is in a price range I'm willing to pay for is a 2018-2019 VW Golf R for $35-36k... and those have anywhere between 25k-47k miles. I don't know about their reliability. Japanese cars are very reliable. I was thinking of doing (a minimum of and in no set order) a piggyback tune and better tires (maybe wheels).
