I have a 2019 Mazda 3 AWD Sedan with leather. I live in Canada we just had a foot of snow. Even with all seasons tyres the Mazda handles fine no problems or issues it’s not the best AWD, I think Subaru has that. My previous vehicle was an FJ cruiser, but with gas prices getting ridiculous up here it was time to downsize. Other cars I’ve owned have been Mazda MX-6 and RX-8. Subaru Tribeca( 09)
Also my wife has a Mazda CX-5 GT turbo both our current Mazdas have been great cars. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a Mazda to anyone. When we bought the CX-5 we test drove lots of cars including the Lexus NX yes it was a little more luxurious, but not $15k more than the Mazda. Leasing a 2023 cx-30 turbo and biggest complaint is horrible fuel economy. Like 14L/100km which is kind of a deal breaker. Drove a mazda 3 2022 for a year and fuel consumption was better but ride was bumpy due to low profile tires. However, cx-30 makes it up on lower insurance. Other than this, they are very stylish cars with semi luxury interiors and handle amazing. Love the HUD and 360 surround cameras with wide angle front and reverse views. No other cars in the same class have them. Cameras a must for cx-30 due to low visibility out the back.

Black leather, sunroof, heated seats, heads up display, big sporty tach with a digital speedometer and the factory Bose sound system is really good. This car is 10 years old and it still has no squeaks or rattles and the engine is still very strong. It's very quick driving around town and gets 35 mpg on the highway, still. This is a 10 year old car! This is the best Japanese compact car of all time in my opinion.

Hey Scotty. I’ve got a 2014 Mazda 3 hatchback that creeks and cracks in the front when I go over slight bumps or holes or even speed bums at a reasonable speed. What should I do? Also, thinking about trading it in for a CX-50 Meridian. What are your thoughts on that car? God bless you man! Having a lot of fun learning about cars..

I've loved my Mazdas, but the truth is that they're not built the same way Toyotas are built. I had a Miata and 3 Mazda 5 cars over the years, and my own 5 was the perfect car for when I had it (and needed it!) but after like 135K miles it was falling apart.

Is the cylinder deactivation reliable and fairly maintenance free

Not all models or years have that. I have a 2023 non turbo front wheel drive and it has neither start stop or cylinder deactivation. I’m going to look into whether it is on the AWD or the turbo. On the Mazda web site it is unclear.

F'n a Scotty. I'm 75 and I've had 8 Mazdas over the years. None have ever let me down. About half of them were stick shift. Currently have a CX 30 because easier to get in and out of. Wish I could get a manual transmission though.

2019 Mazda 3 g25 evolve sedan in manual 2.5L bought for 21k AUD from a dealer with 55k km on the odo. The car is very fun to drive and fuel efficient. The soul red is beautiful and have gotten compliments from random people about the car.

Good afternoon Scotty !…FWIW my vehicles are a 2014 Honda CRV, never in the snow with 35,000 miles, and a 2020 Tacoma with 6,000 miles I bought to haul my snowmobiles in the winter…did I choose well ? I live in NE Ohio.

Mazdas have had their little issues, water in headlights, spider web effect cracking of paint-my last one was barely 5 years old when the paint on the roof started spider webbing and cracking quality is not what it was years ago (my car was always garaged not parked outside when I wasnt driving). At that point I was into Toyotas and thought I'll give the mazda a try, looked up a forum for other Mazda owners here in AUS and many reported same issues including odd noises under the seat. That mazda 3 was the first and last Mazda I bought.

A week ago I traded in my 16' Kia Forte and purchased a '23 Mazda3 hatchback with a little over 17K miles on it in the, uh, "S" select trim I believe? Got it for $21.5K OTD and frankly have zero complaints with my choice. I'm averaging a little over 38MPG with my commuting to work. It's also the non turbo and just FWD, which I purposely avoided the turbo and all that for the reasons Scotty mentioned. It honestly looks and feels like a car that should be at a much higher price point. Overall I'm eager to see how this vehicle does in the years to come.
