Hey Albert, another great video! A couple of things I noticed after the update is it doesn't look like I can have "Fly Mode" set to my arm switch (Channel: 5, SwA) and still arm my quad with the same switch. I have to have Fly Mode disabled in the Tx for arming to actually work. Also, it looks like the variable dial (VrA) no longer acts like a variable 3 way dial/switch, now its just a 2 way switch. I previously used to switch between my 3 saved rate profiles using the dial, so I'm hoping you know a way to configure it back. Haven't been able to figure it out so far. As always your advice is greatly appreciated.
Sorry, I guess that part of the video is confusing. You set the PWM value for each mode individually to whatever you want and how you have it set up in your flight controller. So for the "arm" mode, adjust the PWM value to whatever is in the range for "arm" in your flight controller and do the same for "disarm". To make it easy, set disarm to 1000 and arm to 2000 and make sure you match the correct ranges in the FC. Hope that helps.
Sweet thanks, that fixes the whole Fly Mode issue! I don't think there's really anything I can do about the variable dial becoming a 2 way switch unless they release another update.
Nice, I have been waiting 2 months to get my Evo. I just had HobbyKing send me a mode 1 instead of the mode 2 I ordered since they are finally in stock and I am going to just switch it over like you showed when I get. Thanks for the good videos!
Quick question, maybe you could give me an idea to solve this...so I had my brand new Evolution setup and working while waiting for a replacement esc in the mail. Running through cleanflight, and also working with a simulator. After replacing the esc and getting everything setup, now the Roll and Pitch channels are stuck at 2000 in the receiver tab of cleanflight. Quad doesn't respond properly either, it will arm and motors will spin, but other than that I have no control. I tried rebinding, I tried restoring the Turnigy to factory settings...nothing worked so far.
There is no files tab on Hobbyking. There is an upload files but not Files and no firmware. I've tried four different browsers on pc and android. Was this removed? How else can I update?
I would like a copy as well. Maybe upload to google drive and post a link? Otherwise, I am happy to send you a pm with my email so you can sent it to me.
The "flight mode" in the radio and the flight controller are independent and no information is passed between the two. The flight mode on the transmitter is just for show and quick reference to see what mode you put your switch in. Obviously you'll have to match the setup in the FC as they don't talk to each other. If they could, then the FC would send all the information to the transmitter with no setup needed.... just a fantasy right now.
I just set up my first micro but for some reason my turnigy evolution only responds to aux 2 and 3. The middle switch and wheel. Any advice on how to get the back switches working?

Yeah my Radiolink is giving me really bad stick gitter. It's really bad + or - 10 It used to move by 1 now it's like 20, does the turnigy evolution have any problems like that?
+Big will S. The connector itself is reverse polarity (positive and negative are swapped). This was the case when I checked with a multimeter. You should do the same just in case yours is different.
Quick question regarding the Telemetry. Is the signal inverted? I have a DYS F4 FC coming and as it only has 1 hardware inverter, and would like the Telemetry I need to know if I need to connect it to the inverted UART or it can be connected to any UART.

So, If I don't use PWM I should just ignore the flight mode completely?

So does rssi work with flysky? I haven't been able to find a definitive info.

Why would you need Fly Mode? Can't you set up all modes in Betaflight and be done with it like usual? That part is confusing. Thanks

But I have a issue with the right pad ( Its a Mode 2 ) when I use the joystick we can feel and ear a little "crack". Its not smooth like other radio.

download. plug in usb cable. run program. flash/update it.
