  • Learn how to make your own quilted patch-work coat or jacket with my easy step by step cozy-coat pattern. Follow me on my journey of creating cool and minimalist DIY fashion for every season!
    Summer is coming to an end and I've been experimenting with contemporary patch working and quilting ideas to get into the right mood for fall and winter. In Thailand we are in the middle of the rainy season, which is the perfect time for crafting and sewing! The soothing sound of rain and cooler temperatures at night are perfect for sewing and crafting.
    This time I am making a patch-work quilt version of the cozy-coat with the V-neckline option and bias-tape finishes all around, whether you want to use my pattern or just learn and see how you could make your own coat, have a look !
    My videos tend to be long and detailed, I'm German after all hahah , this time I'm experimenting with a new style with me commenting again like I used to do last year.
    Tell me what you guys think!!
    The cozy-coat pattern is available in my Etsy shop

    I wonder if a walking foot would help. We use that in quilting once the layers are done with the batting. Great video! Love this.

    WONDERFUL!! I learned a great deal from your instruction and after watching a brazillion videos on how to construct a quilted jacket/coat, I now know how I will approach the construction of mine. I wish I could sew with you. Subscribed and liked! (also, bless you for taking care of your old pooch!)

    I’m going to buy this pattern! This video will be a great help because it’s going to be my first garment! Can I start with a large pre quilted piece (to trace the pattern onto) instead of quilting it after cutting out the pieces? Thanks!

    • @TobiasKonrath
      @TobiasKonrath  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hi! yes you can also use an existing quilt and turn it into a cozy coat! I wanted to do that too but I couldn‘t find anything nice to upcycle- so i ended up quilting from scratch! 🪡❤️🥰

    Is this a beginners friendly? Also can I just buy the quilted fabric without me doing it ?

    • @TobiasKonrath
      @TobiasKonrath  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Brenda, totally beginners friendly and you can also use quilted fabric or upcycle a vintage quilt!
