This is AMAZING! As a “proper quilter,” I would say YOU are amazingly good at this! Actually what you’ve done is MUCH more difficult and challenging than making a complete quilt!
If you patchwork again to make it easier you should chain stitch you’re pieces. When you sew one together instead of cutting the threads then putting the next one through just put one after another it comes out like a long chain then just snip the threads in between them. Amazing coat ❤️❤️

This is so elegant! I'm also making one but only out of scraps so it's not going to be as carefully planned and the colours are all over the place but I feel like quilted jackets are just so fun and interesting!

I absolutely love the final piece. I’ve been meaning to make a quilt for our bedroom for such a long time, I bought fabric and a quilting foot for my machine almost a year ago. You’ve given me the motivation to get started!

@BalletPink- Please don't let anyone discourage you from picking up a new hobby! I really admire people who have talent for creativity & use it. It enhances life when you see your accomplishments. If you purchase a sewing machine, you can use it for sewing all kinds of useful household items such as pot holders, dish towels, table runners, curtains, etc. etc. Even your own clothes. It's never a waste of time. Go for it if you'd like to.

Also, you may want to research spray basting. It may not be as accurate but so much faster than hand basting the layers together.
