I enjoy your videos so much....and I'm learning a lot from you. I've been doing some restoration work on my own garden statues of Our Lord, Our Lady, Saint Michael The Archangel, and Saint Francis. I haven't messed any of the work up yet, it's coming along, and I've enjoyed it so much! I'm also learning from you guys, especially about painting their faces and eyes...it's different in many ways from my usual painting on canvas...but your videos are teaching me so much. I'm making some exceptional fine detail brushes, too, from whiskers that my cats have shed...they have lots of spring and snap, and the tips are tiny, perfectly formed by nature, and wonderful for minute, perfect detail. Oh, I wish I could have made my living doing this work when I was young.....it gives me a deep sense of contentment to bring life back to my beloved statues....and I hope to build a new shrine for them when they're finished and ready to place again in my back yard. Your videos are truly wonderfully enjoyable, and are teaching me so very much. I am grateful! So glad I found your channel. I wish you joy. 😊

Amazing work again!! I loved the marble effect technique. I finally finished restoring an old nativity set of statues that I mentioned to you a few months ago. A video of the project is now up on my channel if you would like to see it. Well done again!
Thank you for the video. What was the original material of the Altar? Was is stone? I saw like that made of wood, but this one is not. And the marble was and imitation or a real one? The marble is beautiful.
Hello Sister! The entire altar is made of plaster!. There is some weave added to the original plaster (possibly horsehair or artificial fibre) for strength. It was sculpted over a metal pipe structure and was very heavy! But all of the “marble” is actually plaster with a faux marble painting technique. No actual marble.
Do you have any suggestions for sculpting and patching antique outside marble statues? The statues I'm working on are about 100 years old and at one time had been vandalized and arms and fingers are broken. They sit on a missionary site in Wisconsin. Thanks again for your help. Gail Smith
Thank you for this video. I have been trying to get info for years to help with local plaster Catholic statues that need so much attention. I have a BFA in ceramics so not totally ignorant but can't get any help. Even with emailing smaller restoration companies. Can you share the painting medium? Do you use restoration paints? Have you every used resin with solvent to both clean and stop peeling paint? Thank you. AMDG!
