I have a Viaticum almost exactly like this one that is on my "to do" list to restore. I picked it up at an antique store for less than $10, sadly none of the sacred vessels are with it. Great video, really helpful information and presentation for when I have a break in my schedule that I can fix up a project for myself. I especially appreciate the reverence you show when restoring these sacred objects and artworks. I'm currently restoring a 120 year old corpus from a prairie cemetery and this work really is a labor of love.

@@BrushworksStatueRestoration I watched that! Stellar work. My Jesus is in a bad way, missing toes and fingers, poorly done repair work done in years past, and oh He is so badly weathered. I've nearly completed the structural repairs on His arms and have rebuilt His missing digits, and filled in and smoothed the worst of the weathering. He will then be painted a pearl white and put back into service watching over the cemetery where one of my sisters, my grandparents, and many of my aunts, uncles, and cousins are laid to rest. My own parish is keeping me busy with restoration work! 😃 Peter and Paul are next, I'm told!

They're pretty much out of use after Vatican II, though the Sacrament of the Sick is still very common.
