Honestly, at these prices, I would just head straight to the Lexus dealer and get the GX. The Lexus dealership experience would be worth it over dealing with Joe Dick's Toyota alone.

If I didn’t have my 5th gen 4Runner, I would probably look at the off roady Land Cruiser just because I don’t like the interior of the new 4Runner. This Land cruiser prado looks way much better in person that in pictures or videos! is just beautiful; here in the Dominican Republic we have both the LC 300 which is the real Land Cruiser in all models and this one which is the Land Cruiser Prado, with the diesel engine same as Australia 24ml per gallon.
I’m loving the low beltline, the upright windshield and the boxy style…… soooo cool. That white 1958 looks like it came right out of Kosovo or Mogadishu….
I prefer this over the 4Runner. Don’t get me wrong, I think the new 4 runner is will be very successful but I like LC styling better, both exterior and interior. It’s a little more understated.

Toyota's really doing a great job with their recent design decisions. So glad they've moved away from the homogeneous CUV monstrosities of the past. The landcruiser looks like it should and seems to perform like it should.

Yeah and your Camry has 200 HP and 183 lbft. This has 326 HP and a whopping 465 lbft. More than enough powerful, and it’s still faster than your Camry lol

the LC250 is a GX550 with a whole LOT of stuff deleted/removed. GX550 is the closest to the flagship LC300... ie the real Landcruiser... you want that refinement of the GX550 for the genuine Landcruiser experience.

I'm looking for a large suv daily cruiser and have set my eyes on the 21' lx570 and 23'+ lx600 which I know you've driven and reviewed. Between the 2, would you say the lx600 is that much smoother, quieter, and nicer interior? I don't mind the price or mpg. Just space and drive comfort. Thanks!

I was still very impressed with the lx600 but it does jitter like you mentioned possibly due to the 22 inch tires. Speaking of which, I heard that 18 inch wheels with soft tires like Michelins make a huge difference in ride quality. Given that the lx570 has a smoother engine, if both the lx570 and lx600 were both luxurys and both on 18 inch wheels, would the lx570 still be the smoothest overall driving experience? Thanks!!

New 4Runner interior looks like a more thoughtful design with better ergonomics and it's supposed to be lower cost. Aside from the classic round vents on either side of the dash it's hard to prefer this.
While I absolutely LOVE the look of the new Land Cruiser, 4Runner, GX and many of the new Toyota / Lexus vehicles, I'm just not the least bit interested in buying one with a hybrid engine, or an electric engine, or with all the nanny "driver's safety" aids . . . Maybe it's just me? Maybe I'm just getting older?

my 2nd Gen Taco with the 4 liter and a nice exhaust system sounds similar when I'm in first gear off-roading and it's revved pretty high (mine's a manual so I sometimes just hold it in 1st gear instead of shifting up to 2nd when offroading in slow speed stuff). I wouldn't base you entire opinion on the engine's sound in this specific situation, and should base it more on a 0-60 run where it's running through the RPM range and a couple of gears.
All this for people to just drive it through city streets lmao. I don't think most of these will see their full potential but nice to see what it's capable of.

I wonder if the hybrid battery will save the turbos from blowing if people start throwing big tires on this. Im pretty sure a guy from CBI/tacomabeast was saying putting 35s on the tacoma with the 2.4 was forcing it to constantly be in boost. Maybe the hybrid battery will supply enough torque to not overheat the turbos.
@@JokerG16 not totally sure the guy was saying with the 35s being heavier driving highway speeds the turbo would be at max boost in 8th gear so it had a higher tendency to overheat. My guess is either a regear is still needed, a trans cooler or better airflow to the engine

If they put an under square truck version of 5.0 v8 in the is500, I’d not only buy it, I’d pay an extra 10k to get one because it wouldn’t sound like a sewing machine. It’s not about the power it’s about the sound, smoothness, and power delivery that really matters.
This is not a vehicle worth 70k. They are upselling the LC badge. 2024 LC is a mistake and odd man out. Personally, if my budget is 50k, I would get a 24 4runner and my 70k goes to 24 GX.
This LC ( Prado) is what the 4 Runner was supposed to be, and had been since 2003. Now the 4Runner goes downmarket with a Taco with a bed,, and what was supposed to be the 4R is now $15K more expensive.
its the same price as a base GX overtrail which makes it interesting. it comes down to which powertrain you want. the hybrid here has significantly better MPG but the GX probably has a smoother/luxurious powertrain.
This LandCruiser really grow on me especially with the blue colour . Overall it's really a solid SUV

The best version of Land Cruiser Prado that you guys are not getting in the US because of EPA is 2.8 turbo diesel - economical and powerful.
That diesel produces 201hp. It’s not “powerful” compared to this gas 326hp.

Get the GX550. This is not worth it.
If you have the money, GX550 is the obvious choice
