I prefer round headlights over square. Strange to me that they made both round and square on this first release. I also like the 1958 as it has no roof rails or rack. The cloth is fine, but I would like softex seats as an option offered from Toyota factory. Where I’m lost on this one is the screen and the cheap looking interior plastics. Give us the same tech/screen across all models and soft touch panels.
The "Land Cruiser" trim is the top choice. To honor previous enthusiasts, they could have offered a simpler powertrain for the "Land Cruiser 1958" to appeal to those not interested in hybrid power.
The dealer's not marking it up 20k for "market adjustment fees"? The battery hump bothers me so much that I'll be replacing my old 4Runner with a new non-hybrid 4Runner rather than one of these Prado-Cruisers. It really screws with getting heavy things in and out of the rear cargo storage. The Hybrid adds significant complexity as well, and I don't feel the MPG benefit is worth those factors. Made in Japan at their premier factory is important, and I do expect these to be reliable, though I'd not buy one in the first couple of years.
These willl prove a ton of naysayers wrong the hybrid system isn’t that complex and allows for decent fuel milage as well as giving good power . A suv getting over 20 miles to gallon in stock form saves a ton of money long term on fuel while giving benefits of suv . They already have these floating around with 37 inch tires they say with zero trimming with westcott lift (so they say ) . I hope the sway bar disconnect is able to be optioned on this cheaper 1958 edition .anyone that off-roads knows that sway bar disconnect is a big plus for articulation . These will last just as the rav 4 and Prius hybrids with 300-400 k miles on them . Also ask about the warranty on the hybrid system

I like the seats. But, it does look like a base Work Grade fleet truck.👀
It feels like the mid trim level is the sweet spot for this. A few more off-road and interior items but still well south of the first edition.
The styling is nice but the engine is what sucks, Overseas markets get the V8 diesel.
Overseas version all get a 4 cylinder turbo diesel.
@@ro0ster648 yes, the 70 series used to get V8 diesel turbo but that's gone now too.
No. Wrong
That price is still insane!
Yeah high 40s would sit better with me.
@@UntamedMotors I just went and priced one out, only options I'd want are the skid plates. My local dealer wants over $62,000. That's almost twice what I paid for my diesel pickup truck!
I'm way outta touch with new car pricing. 🤑
@@JDR1971 yeah I hate that this is the new “normal”… 😔
@@UntamedMotors One last gripe, no manual transmission option.
It’s ridiculous what inflation has done, but this is the best option imo for off road capable suv that can be optioned to suit what you want. I just wish Toyota production would meet demand
Yes! Yes! I am 100% agreed, 'old school' style. loved it. Thanks
Great video really showcasing the truck. Thanks for getting under it multiple times in the rain! haha. Man, all Toyota cars are just too expensive across the board! Agree the differences between this and the first edition are not worth the price tag, with just additional things that will eventually break, but unfortunately neither is this worth the price tag! Crazyness.
Test drove one, thought it shifted weird. Wasnt sure if it was the transmission or turbo
Just too much cheap hard plastics on what was once a higher level of a SUV 4X4. This Land Cruiser has gone backwards, especially for the $$.
I like the new LC a lot and I wish they came without the hybrid system, so we could have bought it cheaper. I guess the new 4Runner will be a good alternative to the LC.
Great review with lots of common sense thoughts. I prefer the round headlights VS FE ones. I got a 2017 TRD pro in cement color. I’m thinking of getting this LC. I like the new engine and can’t see paying 70k for the 6th gen 4runner TRD pro.
Super skeptical about the I Force Max. I want to buy one I will wait until 2025 we need more owner reviews. Every review is at the dealer lot we need actual owner reviews with miles on the dash
So far TRD John has 10,000ish miles on a 2024 Tacoma that he lifted at Wescott Designs. He drove from Florida to Arizona and back. Without any problems other than having to some reprogramming some issue on the way to Arizona.
@@J.Young80810k isn’t enough miles, that’s still brand new
This is the exact vehicle I’m going to get. I like the simplicity, it capability, it build at the Tahara plant in Japan so you know it reliable
Hi untamed id still go with the dinosour 2024 4Runner TRD pro-In 5 years it will be very be a very sought after vehicle .
Love the cloth interior! I wish more Toyotas had that.
I would never pay more than 40k for this car. This is as basics as you can get.
I wish Toyota would stop force feeding us the hybrid engines. And why isn't there a 3rd row seating?
Eventually the butthurt will be replaced with the realization that Toyota engineers are smarter than most TH-cam commenter’s 😅
Check out the new builds that Westcott Designs did with these new Land Cruisers! They look like a totally different vehicle, really awesome.
Yeah. They put fat heavy tires to stress this 4cyl engine even more...smh...
