I'm trying not to lose hope in this journey as I am nearing 38 in March 2025. Thank you for discussing diet. Your videos are so insightful and I am so grateful to have come across your channel.
I'm sorry for your loss. I've had a few mc before. The best advice I can give is to get checked out, lose weight, eat well, and don't think about it. It will only stress you out.

@bethanyelaine9949 Thank you. It took me a long time to emotionally get over my mcs. Be kind to yourself. And I believe you can achieve your weight loss goal. 💪
I subbed after hearing you are pushing Plant Based. I was diagnosed 28 years ago with PCOS when it was Super New, and my Gyno was up on the latest info.. I did the low carb thing with weights for 10 years, lost weight, hair stopped falling out, facial hair remained, but my period was black. I switched eventually over time to Plant based, and my period at 48 is beautiful, and if I start eating meat regular, my hair pulls out again and I get huge PMS! Great channel, thanks!
Quite often see unhealthy looking, often smoking, overweight undernourished people/couples with loads of children and seemingly no problem with fertility.. Many often low income families or those on some monetry support ... What if the stress of working is the issue?
Thank you so much for making fertility information more accessible to all of us. Thank you. I have a comment/question. Fertility doctors all agree that maternal age is, hands down, the main factor affecting embryo/egg quality. Stanford just released a very interesting twin study on nutrition. They compared a healthy vegan diet to a healthy omnivore diet (similar to a Mediterranean diet). After only 8 weeks, the vegans had decreased their biological age while the omnivores continued to age as usual (as measured by the size of the telomeres at the end of the DNA strands). Am I the only one thinking this is an incredible AMAZING finding?!!! If we can decrease our biological age in any way, would that not have an impact on the quality of our eggs? Eggs are cells in our bodies after all, maybe we can, to some extent of course, make our eggs behave like younger eggs by eating even healthier? I know this is all theoretical, but it sure made me feel empowered and gave me a lot of hope when I heard about this amazing, measured, result of decreased biological age after just 8 weeks eating this way. I would love to hear your thoughts on this.
Awesome video! Thank you so much Dr. Crawford. This is the most incredible information I have ever received on fertility. I have seen a few in recent years. You were able to cover so many topics and answered most of my questions in one video. I really appreciate it.
I had a high school sweetheart/fiancé that I lived with from age 21-27. IObviously a very fertile time.. however never got preggo even though I’m only 125lbs, plant based & exercise. I got preggo when I increased my milk intake. I drank at least 8oz full fat milk either alone & cereal. Hope this helps someone.
I think over all people are forgetting that if we do not eat a well-balanced or well-rounded diet then there is a high chance we are not getting all the essential nutrients we need. For instance, Vit. D is very important in fertility, right? Well, whole dairy sources and grass-fed beef (or products like butter or milk) are great sources for that. Honestly, I am striving to balance my diet out more and increase more veggies but avoid cutting out too much meat because I know it serves a purpose. The real question is how much is too much, I think.
I was vegan for 5 years before I got pregnant. I had the easiest pregnancy ever, legit zero complications/negative symptoms. My son was 90th percentile! I think eating so healthy made me feel great during my pregnancy.
"There's nothing shocking in here" applies to a lot of things in life. Personal finance, spend less than you earn. Weight loss, eat less calories than you expend. Pregnancy lifestyle, what's good for the body is good for the egg.

I’m on a low-histamine diet after my Mast Cell Activation Syndrome diagnosis. I noticed that when I went on this diet, not only did my allergies drastically improve but so did my cycles! And I started noticing clear ovulation! My husband and I are TTC our first baby after 7 years of marriage. I’m 38 and he’s 53. On our first month of trying, (January 2022) I got pregnant straight away! Unfortunately, I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks. But here we are on month 2 and TTC, again! Taking advice from people who have that same condition and still are suffering from it seems a bit crazy. Nothing that they have tried has cured them but they are willing to share their failure. Forget about everything you have learned from the liars who took money from the plant and sugar producers and go to a meat based diet. It will be painful at first because you have to kick out the gut bacteria that's responsible for all the inflammation and PCOS. Your gut, skin and joints will thank you within a few months. Thank-you so much for your life-changing content Dr. Crawford! I was wondering how much protein a plant-based PCOS woman should eat/day for optimal fertility?
I agree great info, but some parts of the video almost sounds like you were in rewind mode literally, just really difficult to understand what you were saying at some points during the video
I’ve always wanted a baby, a child, to be a parent, to experience nurturing a persons growth and having a family that laughs and plays and has real talks and takes vacations and has healthy boundaries and good jobs and values and doggies and some kind of Christmas party where everyone and anyone we can get our hands on comes and we just blow the house down for Jesus (I’m Wiccan but you know). Anyway, I’m 30 and I’m thinking back on my life and I wonder If I’ve always been infertile and I am so worried now

Could you please talk about PMDD and what to expect when pregnant if you have it ? I have been diagnosed for years and I just started trying to conceive and I have no idea what to expect. Thank you for the amazing helpful content ❤️
I have PCOS. I was lacto vegetarian for 35 years. And mostly plant based as an adult. Lots of vegan friends etc. I had a child in my early 20’s but my PCOS progressed and became very severe. My mental health deteriorated. I have recently included some chicken and fish. Which is taboo and against my religion but I haven’t felt this good in my life. At first it caused euphoria even. I am just giving it a go, it’s really tough, I love lots of fruits and vegetables but I feel like these isn’t much support for people like me coming from a plant based upbringing to make the opposite changes. It really can help paradoxically.
Mental illness is the first step in founding a religion it would appear. Eating nothing but plants will anchor that mental illness and keep the converts dumb and compliant.
Hi! I was taking a very low dose of Vit D and then had labs drawn and my level was 117. I don't think there is a pre-natal vitamin that does not contain Vit D. What do you recommend in this situation?
Hi Natalie me and partner are desperate to conceive, I’m currently 41 and partner is 44. We are due to do our 2nd round of ivf, I take a prenatal and vit D, partner takes zinc and vit D, are these ok jelly gummie form for him… are they just as effective as tablets. Please 🙏 help.
You cant go on size with fish, many keystone species look smaller than some "bottom of the food chain" fish. Know species-- most white fish are bottom feeders or else eat other bottom feeders (pollock, cod, halibut).
Thank you so much for this! I have a question about vitamin A as a vegan.. I am a 33 year old vegan TTC for 3 months... I was just reading that veganism could have a negative impact on fertility and fetal develop because of possible vitamin deficiencies. Most that were mentioned are covered by my prenatal which includes vitamin D and Iodine. I also take a B12 supplement. However, the study I was reading was stating that Vitamin A deficiencies could be very harmful and that the only real way to remedy them is to eat animal products as it is harmful to supplement vitamin A during pregnancy! Thoughts?? Thank you so much!!
Hi there! I currently take Ancestral Supplements - I interchange b/w their desiccated liver supplement and iron supplement with blood and desiccated organs. You mentioned red meat isn't ideal for fertility, so does this mean these supps should also be avoided?
Just a note about soy: It's estrogenic. If you have endometriosis, soy is not good for endo. It could possibly cause it to run amok. I have endometriosis and soy always caused me stomach pain so I avoid it. I was still able to conceive naturally at 31 and 33. I'm now 43 and hoping to have one more baby soonish with a new husband.
You know, I'm starting to wonder if there are studies that show a difference in overall or optimal health for people that ate with their actual ancestors ate. Not the caveman diet or paleo or whatever, but instead foods that our family thrived on. If they were healthy, that is. I have a hard time thinking that everyone does well on a plant-based diet. If you consider that there are some communities that eat almost only animal products and they are seemingly healthy. Does the gut microbiome have something to do with that? We know there is a genetic component to our microbiome and that it has a large role in breaking down and processing the foods we ingest. For instance, people who grew up eating rice for generations as a staple being told to stop eating rice and start eating sweet potatoes as a replacement may not process the potatoes as well as they processed the rice. IDK. There seems like there would be some merit to that.
Great video, thank you. Could you maybe talk about weight and pregnancy correlation. I lost a few kg actually involuntary due to increase in exercising. My doctor commented on me being underweight according to my BMI but my body fat still seems fine according to him. Sould I try to put on some kilos to improve my fertility? Or is the body fat ratio more important? Most sources I found online talk about being overweight and trying to conceive.
Dr. C Do you have advice please on ALA such as flaxseeds for Omega-3? …I learned some people process and absorb it better than others but other than it being possibly inefficient gains, does it do any harm for inflammation and fertility or help to have ALA seed oils? …your thoughts? :-)
@ it’s literally all I eat . Look up Dr. Anthony Chafee and Dr. Ken Berry. It’s a thing and it’s an amazing way to eat. I’m trying to get pregnant with my fourth and if I do I plan to eat this way during pregnancy
Golly gosh you speak quickly!! So if I were to make all of these changes today, how long would it be before l would have an improvement in my fertility?
I'm O+ as well Having RH positive blood type is Great thing you won't need a shot when you get pregnant. That's only for woman with RH Negative blood type. Blood type does not affect fertility it's just woman with RH Negative have to get a shot so their blood doesn't harm the baby.
Hi mam gone through misgarrage 6months back now again we are trying it is not happening...now am start intermittent fasting is it good or not please suggest
I agree with this. The estrogen disrupters and inflammatory substances she speaks of comes from bad quality red meat. Grass-fed red meat is very good for you

Very interesting about pineapple. I thought pineapple is a big no no when you’re trying to be pregnant and during pregnancy. The bromelain in the core especially digests protein and disrupts uterine linings?
I’m not a doctor but I have done my research and folic acid is technically the synthetic form of Folate. Folate is the nature and best form we should all be taking especially if one has a gene in their genetic makeup that is hard to chelate and break down the synthetic Folic acid. I would encourage you to look up this information yourself 😊. Knowledge is power. Best wishes to you.
Hello dr Crawford, thank you for all the information you are sharing. Can you give us more information about man fertility and vegan diet. thank you! I am vegan for 4 years now and have idiopathic infertility. We are trying to get pregnant for 2 years now and I really started to think that maybe my diet is the problem, even though I eat a wole food vegan diet, with normal fat intake (mostly healthy fats) and take zinc, b12, D3, Foliate and Iron supplements. you really calmed me
what a shitty diet if you need supplements lmao. Malnutrition and toxic at its finest.
I had to vegan pregnancies at age 34 and 37. Normal deliveries, healthy beautiful babies. Your diet is fine!
Thank-you so much for your life-changing content Dr. Crawford! I was wondering how much protein a plant-based PCOS woman should eat/day for optimal fertility?

What if I always have a low feritin and iron levels, doctor told me to have more red meat and its not good for fertility😬
Beef lamb turkey and chicken is good also a egg in the morning.
organic blackstrap molasses has helped me with my iron levels a lot! 1 tbl spoon every morning. Does not taste that great but you will get used to it :)
Spirulina is the best and most absorbable protein and its plant based. It helps iron enormously 🤍

Hi friend! (I listen to you so much that I feel that you are one!) You mentioned that we should take at least 1000iu of Vit D. My gynae recommended 5000iu, do you think that's too much? Thank you!
If your doctor recommends more - then do more! Minimum 1000 for my patients (then some need more)

Cant we eat lots of betcarotene? Like carrots, sweet potato, broccoli to get vitamin A?
Wishing you all the best! I’m 36 and also desire to be pregnant. You’re comments gives me hope. Best wishes to you!❤
Just a question, how do carbohydrates have fatty acids?

You should go carnivore, preferably only beef, water, and salt. It helped me get pregnant with my last. I have three kids.
What do you mean only beef, water and salt? Like that’s all you eat ever? Or just for dinner?
@ it’s literally all I eat . Look up Dr. Anthony Chafee and Dr. Ken Berry. It’s a thing and it’s an amazing way to eat. I’m trying to get pregnant with my fourth and if I do I plan to eat this way during pregnancy

I'm O+ as well Having RH positive blood type is Great thing you won't need a shot when you get pregnant. That's only for woman with RH Negative blood type. Blood type does not affect fertility it's just woman with RH Negative have to get a shot so their blood doesn't harm the baby.

Very interesting about pineapple. I thought pineapple is a big no no when you’re trying to be pregnant and during pregnancy. The bromelain in the core especially digests protein and disrupts uterine linings?
I’ve learned so much just from watching your videos than I ever have with my actual OBGYN. My OBGYN does not care to help.
Am planing to get pregnant can I start to take the folic acid en what type of folic acid I should take? thank doc.
I read a research saying that due to difiency in b12 and soy consumption, spermatozoids are 3 time less effective. Reccomandations is to stop soy 3 months before TTC and take b12 supplement.
Have you talked about this in your podcast by any chances ?
