so so true, various key things helped me to get pregnant, I defied all odds was told I was never supossed to have any children with stage 3 endo and the damage it had done to my body, but I got my miracle daughter, she is 13 now. I am truly blessed sending love to all those on a fertility journey xx

I subbed after hearing you are pushing Plant Based. I was diagnosed 28 years ago with PCOS when it was Super New, and my Gyno was up on the latest info.. I did the low carb thing with weights for 10 years, lost weight, hair stopped falling out, facial hair remained, but my period was black. I switched eventually over time to Plant based, and my period at 48 is beautiful, and if I start eating meat regular, my hair pulls out again and I get huge PMS! Great channel, thanks!

If I don’t get pregnant this month I’m doing everything I possibly can so my body is healthy and fertile. As well as getting my s/o vitamins and trying to get him to eat a little healthier. I just want to be pregnant more than anything. Especially after having an ectopic pregnancy I need to make sure my body is beyond healthy.

I think over all people are forgetting that if we do not eat a well-balanced or well-rounded diet then there is a high chance we are not getting all the essential nutrients we need. For instance, Vit. D is very important in fertility, right? Well, whole dairy sources and grass-fed beef (or products like butter or milk) are great sources for that. Honestly, I am striving to balance my diet out more and increase more veggies but avoid cutting out too much meat because I know it serves a purpose. The real question is how much is too much, I think.

I have PCOS. I was lacto vegetarian for 35 years. And mostly plant based as an adult. Lots of vegan friends etc. I had a child in my early 20’s but my PCOS progressed and became very severe. My mental health deteriorated. I have recently included some chicken and fish. Which is taboo and against my religion but I haven’t felt this good in my life. At first it caused euphoria even. I am just giving it a go, it’s really tough, I love lots of fruits and vegetables but I feel like these isn’t much support for people like me coming from a plant based upbringing to make the opposite changes. It really can help paradoxically.

PCOS (i feel) is not helpful with plant-based diets. Hungry an hour later or 2. I will be mindful to eat more salmon and chicken now. I feel that bone-in ribeye does not inflame me. It seems to all be about what oils these meat products are being cooked/prepared in. No problems eating beef if I use coconut, avocado, or olive oil.

Just a note about soy: It's estrogenic. If you have endometriosis, soy is not good for endo. It could possibly cause it to run amok. I have endometriosis and soy always caused me stomach pain so I avoid it. I was still able to conceive naturally at 31 and 33. I'm now 43 and hoping to have one more baby soonish with a new husband.

Thank you so much for making fertility information more accessible to all of us. Thank you. I have a comment/question. Fertility doctors all agree that maternal age is, hands down, the main factor affecting embryo/egg quality. Stanford just released a very interesting twin study on nutrition. They compared a healthy vegan diet to a healthy omnivore diet (similar to a Mediterranean diet). After only 8 weeks, the vegans had decreased their biological age while the omnivores continued to age as usual (as measured by the size of the telomeres at the end of the DNA strands). Am I the only one thinking this is an incredible AMAZING finding?!!! If we can decrease our biological age in any way, would that not have an impact on the quality of our eggs? Eggs are cells in our bodies after all, maybe we can, to some extent of course, make our eggs behave like younger eggs by eating even healthier? I know this is all theoretical, but it sure made me feel empowered and gave me a lot of hope when I heard about this amazing, measured, result of decreased biological age after just 8 weeks eating this way. I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

And I started noticing clear ovulation! My husband and I are TTC our first baby after 7 years of marriage. I’m 38 and he’s 53. On our first month of trying, (January 2022) I got pregnant straight away! Unfortunately, I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks. But here we are on month 2 and TTC, again! Hope this helps someone especially if you have inflammation in your body. I’m also on Low Dose Naltrexone. If you’ve had previous miscarriages, I highly recommend you looking into this medication! I had a fully Vegan pregnancy and I now have a big healthy vegan 3yr old. Got pregnant on the first time and prior to veganism I had irregular periods and extremely painful periods and bloating. Initially went veggie then vegan for the ethics etc but my health took a 360 adopting a wholefood plant based diet never went back. Never let anyone tell you you can't be healthy when vegan and pregnant, cos you can! It's backed by science 🤓🧪🧫🌱

@@Clay_edits Hey! Yeah sure, so I eat a 90% wholefood plant based diet, I don't eat much processd or junky foods but obvs to be realistic I eat some like the rest of us! I eat loads of big colourful salads, stews, loads of Mexican style beans, leaf tacos with loads of avo, vegetables chili sause, tones of tofu and tempeh in meals, soups, vegan sushi, fruit salads, smoothies omg the list goes on! I cook from scratch most days but these days like 90% of restaurants have really nice vegan options too! And you can get sore bought vegan burgers etc if you want a naughty day or two! I don't drink my calories I drink water and if anything juice or smoothies never fizzy soda etc. I include some fermented foods like kimchi, sourkraught and kobucha for good gut health but that's cos I like it, if you don't it's no biggie if you eat a wide varied plant diet anyway. I'm now 18 weeks pregnant again but this time I had a misscarage prior and a few months longer to conceive, when I quit drinking alcohol i fell pregnant 6 weeks after I quit this time. I believe alcohol has a big impact on fertility too. But anyway, don't let anyone tell you your being unsafe being vegan and pregnant. My sons one of the tallest and biggest in his class and he's nearly 4 now and I'm on a 2nd pregnancy that's fully healthy so far vegan too. Tbh I know genes come into play and other factors, but plant based living is great! I'm 8years vegan won't turn back! Check out chrome food vegan youtubers and recipes to help if your thinking on it :), good luck! Xx

@@AlicePriceMusic thank you so much. This has really encouraged me. Sorry about your miscarriage. We hope this gets to full term. I’ve been vegan for 6 months now. Never felt this good. I’ve lost about 12 pounds. Used to be anemic but my hb shot up to 15. It was 7 in June. Tested after 2 months of eating variety of plant based foods and ooh… the doctors were surprised. I was also low on calcium and it shot above the normal range by 0.5.
I’ve been eating clay since childhood but didn’t know the problem was mineral deficiency. I stopped and yep! I saw my world change. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Great video, thank you. Could you maybe talk about weight and pregnancy correlation. I lost a few kg actually involuntary due to increase in exercising. My doctor commented on me being underweight according to my BMI but my body fat still seems fine according to him. Sould I try to put on some kilos to improve my fertility? Or is the body fat ratio more important?

You cant go on size with fish, many keystone species look smaller than some "bottom of the food chain" fish. Know species-- most white fish are bottom feeders or else eat other bottom feeders (pollock, cod, halibut).

Thank you so much for this! I have a question about vitamin A as a vegan..
I am a 33 year old vegan TTC for 3 months... I was just reading that veganism could have a negative impact on fertility and fetal develop because of possible vitamin deficiencies. Most that were mentioned are covered by my prenatal which includes vitamin D and Iodine. I also take a B12 supplement. However, the study I was reading was stating that Vitamin A deficiencies could be very harmful and that the only real way to remedy them is to eat animal products as it is harmful to supplement vitamin A during pregnancy! Thoughts?? Thank you so much!!

  • @shmyrahopkins5861

You know, I'm starting to wonder if there are studies that show a difference in overall or optimal health for people that ate with their actual ancestors ate. Not the caveman diet or paleo or whatever, but instead foods that our family thrived on. If they were healthy, that is. I have a hard time thinking that everyone does well on a plant-based diet. If you consider that there are some communities that eat almost only animal products and they are seemingly healthy. Does the gut microbiome have something to do with that? We know there is a genetic component to our microbiome and that it has a large role in breaking down and processing the foods we ingest. For instance, people who grew up eating rice for generations as a staple being told to stop eating rice and start eating sweet potatoes as a replacement may not process the potatoes as well as they processed the rice. IDK. There seems like there would be some merit to that.
