    Natalie, just wanted to say thank you for all the great content you provide. I started TTC 3 months ago and have been pretty far down the internet rabbit hole in terms of optimizing fertility, since I’m almost 40 and worried it may be too late. I feel like a lot of the other TH-cam channels that focus on fertility only tell women what they want to hear, often because they’re trying to sell their own services or supplements or whatever. They make money off of providing false hope. You seem to be one of the few who is honest and actually based in science. Even when you say things that maybe I wish weren’t true, I appreciate it because I know I can trust you to provide factual information. Amazing work!

    Thank you so much for this video. I recently cut most meats out of my diet allowing for salmon once a week and chicken a few times a week. Otherwise I make red lentil tofu from scratch to reduce soy also and it's actually benefited me in other ways. Changing the diet in this way has actually meant I don't need caffeine and haven't drank it in 3 days now. I already haven't drunk for over 12 months and quit smoking end of last year. I work with older children in a childcare environment so am quite active playing sports with them often. I'm hoping it all helps me to conceive soon. I am mainly worried about my age that I am trying as I am now 35 so I am doing everything to help raise my chances.

    May we see a long term pregnancy preparation video? My partner and know we want to get pregnant in about a year but not right now. Are there anything we should change? anything we should start doing now? how long before trying should a woman start prenatles? For those on birth control is there a good time frame to consider when to stop? Should we consider our occupation or changing occupation? Just a few questions to through out there.

      You can start taking prenatal vitamins a year before trying to conceive. It’s recommended that women should take folic acid even if they are not trying to get pregnant. I learned a year ahead that I had a iron deficiency. If you go to your doctor you can get blood work done for iron deficiency and ovarian health (fertility levels)

    What advice would you give to women living in the tropics, the Caribbean? Most of our foods and lifestyle is different from those in North America. PCOS, infertility, ovarian cyst, blocked tubes and others reproductive disorders are not talked about and is a stigma for most women who do not have a child. Infertile treatments such as IUI and IVF are very very very expensive. My question, could you do a video or videos that could help us outside of north America. Thanks

      Have you tested your hormone levels? Maybe progesterone is low? If it is then you could conceive but it wont stick because estrogen can be over powering your progesterone in your luteal phase. I was told if you heat up plastic bowls or plastic water bottles it can effect progesterone.

We have been trying to conceive ever since, had all the usual tests etc nothing wrong with either of us. So why cant I get pregnant?? , I'm very worried because I'm pushing 40 and I dont think its ever going to happen. In the UK, youre entitled to 1 free round of IVF. This isnt an option for me because I already had a baby. What are my options if any? and congratulations to all you momma's out there who managed to get pregnant. its eating me up inside, I'm desperate for another baby

    How many people follow these recommendations, and still get pregnant? What about those women who consume alcohol on a regular basis and give birth to one baby after another? It seems that there's something else that indeed influences your chances of getting pregnant...maybe it's just wanting it too much, and getting stuck on the idea? Just maybe:)

    I think it's really a bummer how every online doctor tells you to "talk to your doctor" as if that is a possibility or even that your doctor cares about supplements or has any knowledge about it. Not to mention your doctor has no reason to ever tell you to take a supplement since it makes them liable and they'd have to learn about supplements. Fertility IVF doctors frankly have a financial disincentive to helping patients who will just come back for another round, sorry, but not all are upstanding. I wish more were, but between SART scamming and dismissing older patients and giving bad protocols to people over and over again... it's clear some really do not care about us. We HAVE to go to the internet to get info about these supplements because my doctor for example doesn't recommend anything other than a prenatal. Sorry after 9 rounds of IVF at 3 clinics and listening to the other patients my age (44) going through hell, hearing "talk to your doctor" just makes me want to cry.

    • @brittanytavares
      @brittanytavares 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The reason why online doctors say speak to your doctor about supplements is because 1. Most supplements especially in the US aren’t regulated .many supps can contain ingredients that aren’t listed on the label that can be dangerous. 2. Some supplements have contradictions to medications . So you have to be careful when supplementing and taking certain medications. It’s a liability for online docs not to say “speak to your doctor first” because if they recommend something without knowing your specific situation and something happens, it’s now a liability. It’s a standard disclaimer.

    My sister eats dessert everyday and anything she wants. She eats lots of burgers, meat. Fat etc. And she has 4 healthy kids. BUT she does eat vegetables. If someone has low iron deficiency then steak, beef is the best thing to raise iron. On the other hand, I eat a healthy diet of low carbs, fruits, vegetables, I cutt out sugars, etc. and I have fertility issues and no kids. Go figure.

I have been sexually inactive from 2.5 years as my husband lives abroad.
    What do you think might be the reason for such severely low amh? 🤔 I have no family history of infertility neither any disease or something

    HI!! I spot 2 days before the actual "flow" then 2 days after my period actually ends. This is throwing me off completely. Does anyone else on here have or have had this happen to them? I'm going to schedule an apt soon and get an ultrasound. Thx in advance

      I like folate - some people can't break down folic acid.

    Thank you so much for all these precious informations! Could you tell us how much folic acid should be taken daily? It is sold mostly in two diferent doses...Is 400 enough, or do we need 1000? Is the amount the same for the TTC period and actual pregnancy? Thank you so much! 🥰

    I'm really surprised by the lower meat part of the fertility diet! I'm vegetarian, but I thought that fish and meat were important during pregnancy because of the nutrients needed for development. I've read a lot of books written in the past 3 years by nutritionists and doctors where adding meat and fish is recommended during pregnancy. Could someone clarify this? Thank you!!

    • @NatalieCrawfordMD

    Interested in your thoughts on MTHFR and aspirin and supplements.

    • @alisalaska1786
      @alisalaska1786 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mthfr has been debunked as a cause for miscarriages. Just take folate instead of folic acid and you’re fine. A baby aspirin can help prevent clots once pregnant but majority of people it’s unnecessary so don’t take unless your doctor advises.
