I was also born with a closed tube neural defect. My obgyn told me she doesn’t believe that I have PCOS just a hormone imbalance and want me to go for further testing again to see if I have PCOS but then stopped taking patients after five so I wasn’t able to ever get into that program. She also told me that I don’t have to worry about having a closed tube neural defect because all I have to do is just take folic acid and I won’t pass it to my child. We’ve been trying to get pregnant for seven months now and nothing has worked. I started using the inito fertility monitor and I apparently didn’t even ovulate last month according to this monitor. I’ve been switching out my lifestyle and the things that I use and nothing seems to be working so I’m at a loss for words. I called my OB/GYN to make a follow up visit but they told me that everything I was doing was fine just to keep trying that it might take me a year. Seven months in I figured you know I would’ve been pregnant by now. When should I go see a fertility specialist?
I went months before my obgyn was willing to write the referral. But I used my own money bc insurance wouldn't cover without the referral. Best $ I ever spent. Good afternoon Dr. Crawford. My OBGYN has told me not to have sex every day because it lowers our chances. He believes that having sex every other day is the answer. However, my peak came today, the day after my husband and I did it. He told us to hold on until tomorrow because of the sperm count. My question is, how much will that affect our chances? Should we not do it after all? Or could we do it today and again tomorrow to compensate for the count? Thank you so much for your time and help.
Thanks for the info! I find it interesting that you wonder if methylated folate is as effective as folic acid, because a large portion of the population have MTHFR mutations that don’t allow their bodies to really access folic acid, meaning the methylated version would work better for those people. Curious what your thoughts are on that?
I came here to say this exact thing. As one of those people, it can be disheartening to hear that I just need to take folic acid when it gives me terrible symptoms. 😢
I'm not sure if anyone has commented on this yet. But for people like me folic acid is toxic. I am homozygous for the MTHFR mutation and can only process about 20% of the folic acid I consume (into methylated folate). It is imperative I only take supplements with methylated folate because of this. Not sure if you were aware of the mutation. But that's why more expensive prenatals are starting to use methylated folate instead of folic acid, because there's a not insubstantial portion of the population that cannot process folic acid. Even heterozygous carriers only process around 60-70%
I just discovered this week that I have a mthfr I had two miscarriages last year 2022. Does any one have any advice on things I should be doing to prepare my body for pregnancy. I was told that I need to take baby aspirin and to take methylfolate prenatal.
"Bleeding through your clothes" - I mean everyone would bleed if they do not choose the proper pad/cup/tampon. I'm just curious, what kind of tip is that?😅
She means you ARE choosing a proper pad, cup, tampon and still leaking/bleeding through in less than 1-2 hours after putting on the protection. If you've never experienced excessively heavy bleeding like that - be happy.

Hello Dr. Crawford! 🤗❤️ Thank you for the channel, the informations you give are precious and I listen to you with great interest. I am 36 years old and I would like to have my second child. 3 weeks ago I had a laparoscopic op. for endometriosis, after which the diagnosis of diffuse adenomyosis was made too. My case of endometriosis was not very advanced but a very painful one, fortunately the ovaries and fallopian tubes are not involved. 11 years ago I gave birth by caesarean section and since then I have been dealing with stronger and heavier than before pains during menstruation and ovulation. 2 years ago I had a miscarriage at 9 week. What other vitamins are safe and I should supplement before pregnancy, and how long after this operation can we start trying to conceive? Thank you very much! ❤️
What prenatal do you recommend? Mine currently has 700mcg (total in 2 pills) of Folate (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolate acid (MTHF). I like it though because it has no biotin. Should I add folic acid in addition? Thank you!
Thank you Dr. Crawford. Your videos have been so helpful! Good afternoon Dr, I need some advice. I am 35 planning for another pregnancy. My first I had when I was 30. Im currently a bit concerned. I came off of DEPO in Jan of this year and in feb my period lasted for 3 weeks into March. April and May it was averaging 6 to 8 days, both months starting on the 1st. The 1st of June came an went and im still waiting. Could this still be my body regulating coming off DEPO or should I be concerned?Do I need to get a PAP smear done?
Hi Dr. Crawford. I love your videos! Recently though, it seems that you're uploading repeated topics. Don't you already have a video exactly like this? Your last video about pregnancy tests and some other recent ones about cycle tracking and period management I also thought were all topics you had already covered in other videos. Is this intentional? Or maybe I've watched too many of your videos 😅Not trying to attack, just a genuinely curious fan wanting to learn about more topics.
hi!! omg these are still some of the highest asked questions - so just covering in different ways to see if they can reach the people who are searching this and not finding the other videos. I have videos coming up about IVF, birth control, and nutrition - and always love topic requests if you have them so help me out and send my way! appreciate you!! XO
@@NatalieCrawfordMD Thanks for your reply! That's so interesting and makes a lot of sense! It's true you have to go down the Natalie Crawford, MD rabbit hole to get to some of these videos lol! I've always wanted a video on Cervical Stenosis since the only info I'm able to find on it is either from very dense medical journals or very brief articles. I feel like I have this super rare condition that no one can tell me anything about. I was dilated twice to fix it so I should be good moving forward. I've also always wondered when it's safe to get pregnant after a hysteroscopy because I miscarried after getting pregnant 2 weeks following a hysteroscopy and I'm stuck on this idea that I got pregnant too quickly and baby didn't implant well (embryo tested genetically normal). I asked my Dr and he said it's possible the first ovulation after after surgery could be, and I quote, "wonky." And when I asked to clarify what that meant he was unable to give me an answer smh. You explain things so thoroughly I really wish you were my Dr.
I really know you trying to teach women how to be pregnant and I know I'm a woman too I'm 22 years old and I'm think I'm too young to be pregnant I really want to get pregnant❤❤❤❤😢😢😮😂
Honestly, I don't see why any woman would want to get pregnant. Pregnancy puts a lot of strain on a woman's body, and it is very dangerous, and it has a lot of risks, and a pregnancy lasts 9 months. Also, childbirth is very painful. And also, raising children is very hard. Personally, I think being childfree would be a lot better than having children. It's been proven that single childfree women are happier. Studies prove single, childless, women are the HAPPIEST demographic. Women are the happiest when single and focused on themselves.
The only reason why we are in this world is to reproduce unless you can't children grow in no time when ur old/ pass away you want ur family to put u in ur grave and pray for you
It makes me thankful to know there are female doctors like you helping other women become pregnant. You’re such a role model!

where are you located Dr Natalie?
Austin, TX!
Thank you
Hi Dr. First of all want to say thank you for your content. I feel more educated about my body. I was taking oral contraceptives for 2 years and I stopped it on May 2022 and after that my periods quit regular since this may I track it with app. According it it supposed to be on May 21 but still nothing ( Today 26) I did pregnancy test but it is not positive yet 🥲 Hope I couldn't get pregnant this time♥️♥️♥️
Im still breastfeeding but I have regular periods (30 day cycle) and I’m using ovulation tests to optimize my knowledge of my cycle. We are TTC baby number two, will breastfeeding affect how long it will take? Im also nervous I have a short luteal phase
it can contribute to luteal phase issues, keep trying but if not having success may need to consider stopping BF
Hi can u help me please I have pcod and I can’t am trying and I feel like something is wrong with me I give up can u plz help
Hi doctor I have one doubt my last period date is dec3 and the app show my ovulation date is 18 dec is it correct because u said cycle days subtract 14 is the ovulation my cycle length is 29 days so the ovulation date shows 17 dec so confused which one is correct
I just got my IUD removed in June 2022 - since then I have had now 7 periods come and go - none started when they should have - basically irregular right? Thinking of calling my OB because I know I ovulate but the periods thing Is getting me What do you think?
I’m 27 never been pregnant hope to have my own family soon.
Message doctor for help to get pregnant

Honestly, I don't see why any woman would want to get pregnant. Pregnancy puts a lot of strain on a woman's body, and it is very dangerous, and it has a lot of risks, and a pregnancy lasts 9 months. Also, childbirth is very painful. And also, raising children is very hard.
Personally, I think being childfree would be a lot better than having children. It's been proven that single childfree women are happier. Studies prove single, childless, women are the HAPPIEST demographic. Women are the happiest when single and focused on themselves.
The only reason why we are in this world is to reproduce unless you can't children grow in no time when ur old/ pass away you want ur family to put u in ur grave and pray for you
❤😊
Mm
Good info, but your hand movements are very distracting.
Not criticizing you but I feel like it would be nice if you looked at the camera more when you’re talking
What your number
