Brough Built its very clear that your an artist! That’s actually what stood out to me the most. I’ve seen many people build replicas of their dream cars, but what separates you is your artistic attention to detail. What a great achievement, and what determination and persistence it so clearly required. One question: is there any risk that the steering column UJ could bind? The angle with the rack looks extreme.
Thank you for the compliment! It was quite a battle to make the u Joints work. I had very little space so I needed to get the angle as tight as possible without a risk of it binding (this took more than one tries). Also I noted that by offsetting the two U joints by 90degrees they canceled eash others "bind" out.

great work, some elements came out better than in my replica. This is one of the most difficult cars to build. I wish you success and I look forward to other films. Regards, I wonder if you were inspired by my solutions I built the prototype 6 years later, 5 years of corrections and introducing new solutions, only now it is 16 years from the beginning, my version is driving well.
Thank you!! Yes your work has inspired me for a long time. I have watched your progress from the beginning even before it was on TH-cam. You haven't posted in quite a while? I'm curious what you are busy with currently? Keep well
@@BroughBuilt thank you for the kind words, I'm glad I was an inspiration. now I'm finishing the version on the M70 engine just like you, but with 1 turbine, the same transmission as your DQS audi 6 gears. this copy took me 5 years although in the meantime I built this red one with a v8 on a turbine. In a few days I will throw a video on YT. What was the reason that you built after 18 years? 1 knowledge? , 2 money? 3 time? How many pss did you get on these 2 turbines? you have a video with the parameters I will watch. I found your channel today and I see a lot of movies, but I didn't manage to watch them. Of course I watch.
Cool! I can't wait for your video to come out! I really want to see how the car came out. The main reason it took me so long to finish the car was a lack of knowledge and skills. There was a time when I thought I had taken on too big of a task and just left it standing for some time. I have an adjustable boost controller on the turbos but the highest I've set them was on dyno at 8psi and it had no problems. Usually I run 6psi
Haha! I like it! But I'd be lying to just casually say I whipped it up🤣. Even now when I look at the video I can't imagine having taken on such a mammoth task😱
Damn dude, this build is WILD. There was so many skills in use to make this project happen. Absolutely amazing. Hats off to you and those involved! What a herculean task but you killed it! How many hours of hands on work do you think this took? Time frame was a 3 year process but how many man hours do you estimate?
My god, you are truely astounding human being, when I see that finished result looking down the side of the car and see the doors aligning with the body work, I'm just out of my mind blown away as to how you could do so many different disciplines to such a high level!
Thank you! I am in the process of making the car road legal. Last two things I have to do is install a windshield wiper (even though I hope to never have to use it) as well as a park brake. Where I live you are allowed to use Lexan.
Looks like a kit car still, the proportions are off, the rake of the front window and the arch of the roof. The way the rear quarter meets the hatch, all completely off. Reminds me of the Fiero Ferraris.
the amount of dedication....knowledge...detail....and hard work....that has gone into this build....is ASTRONOMICAL....and the result of all that "passion" shows when your build simply outclass and outshine every other car at the car meets. You deserve that attention. McLaren guys should take note.
literally blown away by the effort alone, the finished car is so unique, "I made my own McLaren F1LM" sounds far far more rewarding then "I own a McLaren F1LM"... simply because it is better, you've done an outstanding job sir!!! Superbly well done! now enjoy! :D
The f1 is one of the best designs ever. It hasn't aged a single day, it looks so exotic yet elegant and agile. They would have been lucky to have you in the development, this is spectacular. You must be a happy man. How many techniques have you learned? you can manufacture almost everything!
I agree. The design is absolutely amazing. I enjoy looking at it more than driving it. I took on every manufacturing challenge this build required (making many mistakes and watching endless"how to" videos😁). But the area I had least experience in was doing the upholstery. And honestly it was my most favourite part of the build!
Given what an absolute legend Gordon Murray is and how he started his entire career like this, it would probably be worthwhile reaching out to him. I'd be amazed if he wasn't willing to help you get it a little closer to the real thing with at least all the suspension geometry settings and some tips. He may even come for a ride out with you in her......that'd be great to see. Ferrari issue cease and desist notice, Gordon Murray goes for a spin and gives the man tips 💪🏼😂
One could argue this is more logical, because it lacks the bad ideas in the original F1. 1) it might be using tires that don't require a special min. group order, 2) it's not dependent on one goofy laptop, 3) it doesn't have a flex bladder that requires the engine to be pulled every five years, 4) trans and engine parts will be easier to get in the future. Another video shows the frunk hatch gap -- OMG this guy must be a perfectionist. The gaps are tight!
Saw the greatest supercar to ever be built back in Need for Speed: 2 and instantly fell in love with it. Amazing job, gave me chills just looking at it.
well this is just incredible, it would have been too easy to build the kit around an mr2 or such like but no! you build an F1 LM from the ground up, a true master of the craft
Honestly this just left me speechless. The amount of work and the attention to detail that was put into the making of this car are absolutely ASTONISHING! The only thing i think i should point out is that the rear end is just a tiny bit too tall, but otherwise this build is totally perfect!
Check out the video where I take this puppy out for a spin!! th-cam.com/video/Kxcvv7FhVgA/w-d-xo.html

Usually I run 6psi
this equates to national treasure! Respect for this amazing work!
Hey what is that? Oh just something I whipped up in the garage, I call it number seven. 19 million 990 thousand less than a real one!
Haha! I like it! But I'd be lying to just casually say I whipped it up🤣. Even now when I look at the video I can't imagine having taken on such a mammoth task😱
@@BroughBuilt you should definitely do orders for people! Id definitely buy one
@@BroughBuilt do you sell them if you do how much do you charge
I don't sell them (yet) but I've had some requests so it's something I might consider.
@@parabellumalpha thanks dude. That's very kind to say!
I'm obsessed about this car.
Damn dude, this build is WILD. There was so many skills in use to make this project happen. Absolutely amazing. Hats off to you and those involved! What a herculean task but you killed it! How many hours of hands on work do you think this took? Time frame was a 3 year process but how many man hours do you estimate?
Hi there. Thanks for the nice words. It is hard to say how many hours it took. Let's just say it took every free minute I had😅
My god, you are truely astounding human being, when I see that finished result looking down the side of the car and see the doors aligning with the body work, I'm just out of my mind blown away as to how you could do so many different disciplines to such a high level!
Wow thanks man! I'm glad you notice the lines. I am very proud of it😁
Very cool, that is incredible! Amazing craftsmanship! I had a question about the lexan windshield and no wipers, is it road legal?
Thank you! I am in the process of making the car road legal. Last two things I have to do is install a windshield wiper (even though I hope to never have to use it) as well as a park brake. Where I live you are allowed to use Lexan.
I just wanted to how impressed I was with your McLaren F1 LM! My all time fantasy car. You did an unbelievable job. Keep it up.
Thanks for letting me know 👍👍
Looks like a kit car still, the proportions are off, the rake of the front window and the arch of the roof. The way the rear quarter meets the hatch, all completely off. Reminds me of the Fiero Ferraris.
your level of commitment and skill to this beautiful mix of art and machinery is unbelievable
the amount of dedication....knowledge...detail....and hard work....that has gone into this build....is ASTRONOMICAL....and the result of all that "passion" shows when your build simply outclass and outshine every other car at the car meets. You deserve that attention. McLaren guys should take note.
This has to be one of the most amazing youtube vidéo i have seen in my entire life. The capacity of the human brain never fails to deliver.
NGL I fast forward to engine choice and once I seen that you sourced a BMW V12 I went back and watched the whole thing. Bravo sir, Bravo 👏
Haha thanks man!
If the dream seams unattainable then build it. It’s probably more reliable than the original too. Fantastic job and thanks for posting!
this made my day... Mclaren F1 is that kinda of car you cannot ignore!
literally blown away by the effort alone, the finished car is so unique, "I made my own McLaren F1LM" sounds far far more rewarding then "I own a McLaren F1LM"... simply because it is better, you've done an outstanding job sir!!! Superbly well done! now enjoy! :D
Thank you very much!
the attention to detail is amazing. this is one of the most impressive things i’ve ever seen in my life. Great job sir
Getting that paint on must have felt so rewarding
Absolutely! Truely end of a chapter
@@BroughBuilt thank you for the answer, you got yourself a new sub!
You may not be a musician, but you are definitely a rock star!
Utterly gob smacked! That’s truly amazing. What’s more impressive is that you’ve done it with tools anyone can get their hands on.👌
Thank you Alex!
This is actually insane. The fact that you also managed to get a suitable engine in there too is honestly blowing my mind. Sub earned my friend
Still going strong I see, keep it up! 💪
Very much! Thank you!
Unbelievable the amount of work went into this! Congratulations on building your dream car! You really did it justice!
Saw the greatest supercar to ever be built back in Need for Speed: 2 and instantly fell in love with it. Amazing job, gave me chills just looking at it.
Thanks man! I also used to drool over the one in NFS 😁. Glad if you like it
One dedicated, clever, talented and motivated man
well this is just incredible, it would have been too easy to build the kit around an mr2 or such like but no! you build an F1 LM from the ground up, a true master of the craft
It looks legit!
got better panel allignment than an actual mclaren haha, incredible job here, amazing work.
Wow, I am impressed! Dude just demonstrated a master class in everything car... Mad respect!
This man is legend Gordon Murray would be proud ❤
You made the best car ever made with little resources a man can have even better
Well. That was a trip. I guess if you don’t have millions laying around, this is the way to do it. Good job.
Is it even real? How is this even possible... Hats off Sir...
Respect... Truly built not bought.
What a car.. The 3 years you investet really paid off man
This dude has alot of talent he did a fantastic job of making the McLaren f1 in his image
Honestly this just left me speechless. The amount of work and the attention to detail that was put into the making of this car are absolutely ASTONISHING!
The only thing i think i should point out is that the rear end is just a tiny bit too tall, but otherwise this build is totally perfect!
Thank you!! It is hard to explain but some dimension differences only became apparent after the car started to come together.
