Pro Tip: on route 11 engineer bernie has 3 magnetons which give 2 special attack evs each. And on route 8 the twins have a clefairy and jigglypuff that both give 2 hp evs. keep running around and rematching them with vs seeker. And you can have a pokemon with exp share that will also gain evs
PRO TIPS, thank you this is some good info for the comments section!
@@nostalgicnighthawk Ya you're welcome. I've been looking around to see what I can find. There may be even better methods and I have not looked in the end game yet. There is also a guy on route 8 who has 3 muks I found which is 1 atck and 1 hp ev each
@@MemeJuiceVids nice! Yea there might be some juicy and efficient places to EV train however I havent checked all the trainers. Let me know if you find anything else! I could always do another follow up video with suggestions from you and others on training locations.
Dude, I’m on the same journey as you in FR and Emerald right now and I’m loving your videos. Keep up the great work bro.
awesome to hear! Keep it up as well!
Me too, such an awesomely timed video.
Man I appreciate these videos so much, I just started replaying Fire Red/Emerald so these have been cool to watch & pretty informative.
Sweet! Love to hear you are playing the games too
Can’t wait to see battle tower video!
will do some vids!
Loving the b-roll man! Really enjoyable video!
good video man, always cool to see people still play this games
thank you! Yes love these games
Anyone else feel that satisfaction knowing your team could rock up against the best of em’ at any moment?? 👀👀
Great video, awesome tips!!

Felt super Nostalgic with this videos

thanks! These games take me back!
Keep the vids comin 🔥
will do!
Apologizes, text error at 7:34. Its supposed to say Route 1 and have the EVs shown! Not sure how I didnt catch this.
Eyy another video by one of the most underrated Pokemon-related TH-camrs!
Awesome work dude, thank you for this guide.
thanks for your continuous support! Appreciate ya
Thanks bro !
It has to be the best guide on EV and IV! Can you teach us how to breed for 6IV and Egg Moves? I love the "style" of this video (the Analogue Pocket and the sticky notes).
I have a video on IV training too but to get 6 IVs requires INSANE luck. Even getting 4 IVs is quite difficult. Its just a probability thing assuming you have both parents with high IVs. Egg moves can be a video tho!
Edit: this is a great resource. It shows all the probabilities of an egg assuming your parent pokemon have perfect IVs as well. Towards the bottom of the page has the 5-6 IV pokemon egg chances. SUPER LOW
www.smogon.com/ingame/guides/breeding_guide_part3
@@nostalgicnighthawk Oh god! I love that this game is quite easy on the surface, but if you go deep it can be very challenging. Thanks for the resource! And you have a new subscriber 💪🏼
@@Unnamed456 Yes its a great game both chill but also challengin! Thanks!
In Gens 3 through 5, the chances of getting more than 3 perfect IVs just by hatching eggs are pretty low. Through breeding you can at least make it so that the offspring can get 3 IVs from the parents and if a 4th perfect IV shows up that means you were extremely lucky jeje
The only "reliable" way to obtain more than 3 perfect IVs is by RNG Manipulation which is a whole nother world but it can be done. I managed to get a Mudkip with a Relaxed nature and 31/20/31/31/31/19 IVs by RNG Manip. A lot of tries, but worth it at the end and I think I would've taken a lot more time trying via the "normal" method.
Pretty nice guide! I've been doing some EV training in Fire Red recently and it's pretty quick, some NPC trainers are also very useful since they can be battled with the vs Seeker constantly and some of them give EVs only in one stat, so they're great for some big and quick EV gains
Thanks! And yes that is another great way to get EVs. I decided to not go into detail in this vid just to save some time! Do you actually have a shiny chansey??
@@nostalgicnighthawk that's fair you gave some pretty good spots for wild encounters! Yes I do have a shiny Chansey, with a Bold nature and perfect IVs as well, of course obtained via rng manip, I'm not that lucky ahah. I do have a lot of legitimate competitive mons in Gen 3 and 4, all fully EV trained and at level 100
@@crikson96 Awesome!!
I just started playing emerald because the delta emulator launched officially on the iphone and I came across your videos. Though I am not playing on actual hardware, I'll make at least 1 perfect pokemon in that game. Love your content :)
awesome! You dont have to play on the actual hardware or anything. As long as you are enjoying the game!
you can get EZ-FLASH OMEGA Definitive Edition flash game and move the save file in it and use a gba advance it has battery and can trade and transfer pokemon to gen 4 like a real game
i play on my pc then move the save files because i want to use a controller
OMG I use to have posted notes with these exact same marking too when I was ev training haha
haah! its a great way to do it. Simple and effective!
im always happy to see another vid from you. So chill and great to watch before hopping on Emerald / FR myself. Keep it up!
try to set a chill vibe for everyone to relax to and grind some pokemon!
The fact that I can't get rid of EVs without trading to Emerald is a war crime
This is a pretty interesting video for EV training just the only problem is if you’re ev training multiple Pokémon. If you equip 5x exp share it would distribute the ev too the other Pokémon(however if you use the macho brace I have heard that the bonus ev doesn’t distribute tho I could be wrong).
You are correct with the exp share and the macho brace only works with the pokemon it is attached to.
Amazing vid! Also, and just adding to your topic of EV Training, just like finding a Shiny while so, you can as well find the infamous POKERUS which is a "virus" that "infects" your Pokemon and makes it gain 2x the amount of EVs. So, for example, defeating a Caterpie grants you 1 HP EV, if your Pokemon had POKERUS it would be 2 HP EVs and if it's holding the MACHO BRACE that would make it 4 HP EVs for a single Caterpie.
I was pretty lucky getting POKERUS. I was actually NATURE HUNTING DITTO jaja I was looking for a Bold Nature Ditto with a least 1 perfect IV and got scared when I went back to the Pokemon Center and the text was different from what it usually says... and checked my Pokemon and there it was, one of the Dittos had it.
I should have briefly mention POKERUS. I never got it in this gen but in my old diamond game i some how got it! WOW so lucky getting it in these games!
We want to see your battles in the battle tower!!
I just finished tyranitar so after that video is done I will can do some videos in the battle tower!
can you make the same videos for gen 4 pokemon games?
in the future i will! I am currently focusing on the gen 3 games but i REALLY wanna start playing gen 4 again. Those are so fun
Correct me if I'm wrong, at lv1 I will specifically grind (attack wild pokemon) that gives specific EV that I want (252 max EV per stat x2 +4 remaining total 510 or 508).
Upon accomplishing that I can just Grind EXP (attack randomly/ any) to reach lv100- since the max EV's reached (it won't change?)
TIA
Yes correct. Once u have filled in all the EVs for a pokemon, you just EXP grind. The EVs will not be influenced any further.
What is the device you play on? I'm really interested!
Analog pocket! I need to record a video doing a review soon
What's the device you're using to play the games? And are they cartridges or are they downloadable
This is the analog pocket. I am using cartridges however you can also upload emulators to an SD card and ply off that. IO have not done that so do not quote me on that! But I just use this device as a glorified game boy
@@nostalgicnighthawkthanks for the reply! ❤
So if i understand this correctly, you didnt use the shiny charmander/charizard that you got untill later in the game to EV train it?
Somewhat true. That charizard was not from this save file. I already had this fire red file and I soft resetted for charmander on my leaf green version. Then I traded it to this fire red file and did the training!
After I get the EV do i just grind Pokémon that don’t have ivs to level up or how does that work?
Leveling up after getting the IV
IVs are innate to the pokemon so once a pokemon is caught or hatched, those values are defined.
After EV training a pokemon completely, you are free to battle any pokemon, use rare candies, or put in the day care to level it up and it will not matter. After EV training you can basically do whatever and level up and it doesnt matter. Hope this helps! If not let me know
@@nostalgicnighthawk actually that makes sense if I’ve gotten all the possible IV’s I can get then the Pokémon I take out won’t yield anymore then it won’t matter what I do to level up, thank you.
How good is the analogue pocket
i say pretty great! I have been meaning to do a proper review of it soon
Can I ask you about something. I’m breeding Treecko then I got the first is outstanding sum of IVS 18/22/28/31/26/31 and another one I got impressive sum of IVS but I got 4 perfect IVS 5/19/31/31/31/31 so my question is which one I should use to play? Because the 4 perfect have suck of HP (HP is 268 for the first and 255 for the 4 perfect IVS at level 100)
Ps. I never use rng. You can teach me if you want😂. I play in delta IOS.
Wow 2 good ones! So a few things:
Did you already train the treecko to lvl 100? How do you know its stats at 100?
Which to train depends on what you want the Sceptile to do for the team. You probably want it to be a sweeper an attack stat and speed are most important. Both have max IVs in SpA and Speed (assuming how you wrote it (Hp/At/Def/SpA/SpD/Speed).
To me it does not reallly matter since they both are good. I would probably train the outstanding one because those are harder to get but also 4 IVs are hard to get too!
Thanks a lot. Yes I already train them all🤣.
@@mistera745 GOOD Stufff
I started over my Pokemon Fire Red and tried to get a perfect IV Charmander, and it is possible to get a perfect IV starter pokemon, but it's very time-consuming unless you're very lucky on a couple tries. I, too, was using the smogon breeding guide to check on the pokemon Perfect IV and, within a few, reset. I got really lucky, almost a perfect IV Charmander nature serious with HP 20, ATK 11, DEF 10, SPA 12, SPD 11, SPE 12. I'm about to EV training it's speed starting at level 6 at the very beginning of the game and I can't really tell how much Rattata I have to kill to be able reach the maximum 252 speed without the macho brace and vitamins. Can you please help how many Rattata do I have to kill to get the maximum 252 speed stats?
perfect iv starter is harrrrd! Gota kill 252 for max speed!
@@nostalgicnighthawk Thank you!
just wish i could access trades with the emulator im running,
i heard there is a way! however I do not know exactly how
@@nostalgicnighthawk depends, some old windows gba emulators could run it, but this new generation of emulators, in my case using delta, its not available yet, maybe they will release a patch with double emulation so we could trade in :v
@@rossonimusic hopefully they do. From what i have been hearing a lot of people want to be able to trade to either complete the pokedex or get Gengar and pokes! They should include a feature in the game for it
What is that book you got?
the OG nintendo power guides!
@@nostalgicnighthawk thank you so much! I just started playing firered and it will be a huge help!
@@aliyahkang hope you have fun playin!
Do pokemom obtain from cheating has same mechanics eg exp/ stat gain (as if it was obtain without cheating)
TIA
I am not 100% sure however I would say most likely yes.
whats ur method for getting 31 IVS? and how many perfect IVS do you often get with ur MOns? nice video !!
Waiting for the tyranitar video! ♥ and I was wondering how did you think ur EV spread for Tyra? i would like to know!!
hugs Bud
I have a whole video on it! I shoot for 3 IVs with at least 2 being in a stat I need. However if the pokemon has A LOT of total IVS, I have been selecting those. I will let you know the EV spread in the VIDEO comnig soon. Almost got TTAR to 100
