There are three characters that can't be recruited with just B rank, Ferdinand, Caspar and Leonie all have their B support locked for later in the game, past the point where you can recruit them.
@@CyclonSilver I started with GD so I can't confirm but a friend that went BE had her at faded B telling them that they had to wait to develop the bond and ultimately the skip happened before they could activate it. I suppose it's possible they just missed the activation window.

Make enough money where buying gifts isnt too bad. Though can get pricey for multiple. Granted I've never tried tea time so idk how they compare. I so far havent had much trouble getting to B though. Granted I'm more focusing on professor leveling while exploring. Buy gifts once a month, eat with them and sing. And they should be good within a month at least
Recruiting hilda on a BE run is rough, wish I knew about the save rerolling since you can't just flat ask her to join while exploring and instead rely only on her randomly showing up during the week. Still didn't kill her though when i faced claude just went through nadar's convenient step up of ships.

@@Infinite_exhilaration I'm so happy I picked Black Eagles on my first play through. Really didn't see that one coming and made that entire betrayal and final fight all the more impactful. I thought because of the Three Houses set up this might be the first Fire Emblem game in history where the Empire wasn't war mongering land stealers. Oh well. Is her final confrontation actually different if you weren't Black Eagles?
If you have a B support, you can also just talk to them during exploring. Take note though, if you start the recruitment conversation and say no for whatever reason, you lose your ONE chance for the day to recruit them.
Yup. From what I've been told safest bet is B support plus D rank in the skill they prefer. Doesnt always matter though. I've had one student come into class to join after I had their weapon skill at D. 2 I invited without their weapon skill and also agreed. Then one with their weapon and they accepted. So idk if it is just luck. But the weapon skill has helped, but wasnt always needed.
Sadly that doesn't work for hilda when you are BE, she doesn't have the recruit option over gift giving or lost items but does gain tea time at C support. Just gotta save scum (just learned that from the video) after you get her support high and hope she shows up.
I agree, it helped me to get almost all units I was interested for my 1st playthrough (I still have to recruit one more and I'm working for it, I believe I will succeed before reaching the story mission of chapter 11, currently on chapter 9), I was interested in Hilda but... my current playthrough plan won't allow me to get her because story reasons (yeah, going for the secret Black Eagles division), well, that will be for the normal Black Eagles run and the other two routes.
I'm playing the Black Eagles, and I refused to allow myself fight her and Mercedes, because I'm aiming for the secret route and (at this point it shouldn't be a suprise) that way I can save myself the grieve of killing them, plus, I like both of them.
I'm finsh with my GD route today and I join the Black Eagels right now and in the Golden deer route I didn't see Annette in the 5 year time skip did I miss any mission or I did kill Annette but didn't realize if it was her Lol
Annette is a true darling. I'm playing BL route and she's one of my favorites. I definitely won't be able to to overlook recruiting her during a different playthrough!
Since i finished Blue Lions first and now have to play the other houses, i told myself that i HAD to recruit Ashe every time. No way around it, the boy gotta stay with me. I must protect the precious child.
@@briannguyen6248 pretty much, i planted flowers every exploration and paid the highest cultivation each time. You can use what ever gift you want but i had so many flowers from planting so i used those. Keep in mind i think certain characters are locked cause i didnt get all of them. Not that i really tried

My first playthrough, I only recruited the cream of the crop. From there, only the cream of the cream joined me in battle. I’m happy with my team and I feel a sense of accomplishment knowing I built these guys from the ground up like a true teacher. My babies are all grown up and ready to destroy people. *Sniff*
I recruited like 5 students before the timeskip. Bernadetta and ashe made it into the team and Felix/mercedece and somebody just because I could get them. (I think all of the church guys/girls I dont count cuz you have literelly just do the story and talk to them if you want them)

This is great for everybody except Ferdinand and Caspar, at least in Blue Lions route. Their B Supports are timeskip locked. I've recruited every other character.
I see this being more of a problem with Ferdinand tbh, because he requires Armor rank to join you. This rank especially is hard and pretty impractical to build, so you will need to try REALLY hard to recruit him. Because gauntlets are so good anyway (especially in earlygame where almost eveeything weighs you down like crazy), it should be less of a problem for Caspar. In fact, in my blind run he was the first one I recruited on to the BL house.
I believe having the amount of points needed for getting a B rank with Ferdinand is sufficient. It worked on my Blue Lions playthrough anyway, had to ask him though.
I found a method to level up all skills to maximum very fast, like armored from c to a+ in 15 minutes. Step 1, have an armored knight or unit with enough defense to be able to tank infinitely Step 2, have access to adjudants, and pair up the character you want to level a skill with with said tank. Adjudants gain the full benefit of combat, skill and even class experience. They gain experience in the skill you have equipped with the adjudant before starting the map, including riding (be a cav unit), faith (equip nosferatu) and the rest. Step 3, equip the tank with broken or rusted weapons, so it becomes difficult for it to kill a unit. Rusted weapons never break, and you get points for that weapon type regardless if you hit or miss. Step 4, skip enemy phase in options. This is what basically makes it insanely easy and not time consuming to do. Step 5, do a bandit map, most preferably ones without mages and with bushes, and draw as much fire to you as possible, then simply end the turn. The unit and the adjudant basically gain a handful of points per combat done in the enemy phase. If there are 4 bandits and 2 archers, you gain like 24 points in your skills per turn. And since a turn lasts like one second, you level up skills within minutes. I do not recommend doing this in normal playthrough as basically the point of the game is to use your head and plan skill development accordingly. This method completely removes this element. But im having fun building a fully s+ edelgard with all classes unlocked.
@@shawn1603 speaking of save scumming, if you level up and dont want the stats, just turn back time and not level up that unit until you start another map. The stat gains arent set in stone as with conquest :)
Except for the characters you can never recruit if you don't pick their path (Dimitri & Dedue being Blue Lions only, Edelgard & Hubert being Black Eagles only, and Claude being Golden Deer only). All other students can be recruited by any House (though it's very hard to recruit Hilda if you're with the Black Eagles). Also, some characters will turn on you or be impossible to recruit if you go Empire path (in my experience, those being Catherine, Rhea, Seteth, Flayn, & Cyril).
on my first play through of the game, I wasn't able to recruit ANY students because I did not know this. I figured out this method on my second playthrough by complete accident, and I felt like the game had lied to me.
You don't need to wait for the students to ask to join your class most of the time. If you want to proc the support in the monastery, you can just fast travel and it will load in. After that, you can just fast travel again to reload the map again and then you can try to attempt to recruit them. I recruited most other students this way, the only one I had to wait to ask me was Ingrid
Good video and guide. The only other tip I have is that another good cost-efficient way to get support points is by adding the student you want to recruit to your team with Mission Assistance, then assigning them as an adjutant to Byleth (or whoever else you want them to support with). They get support points with Byleth for every combat, and anytime Byleth gets support points with a student, the adjutant will get them as well. Keeps them safely off the field too.
+Chaz Aria LLC Or just wait for new game plus and use all your extra money to bribe them with gifits and I 100% agree with sticking to mainly your core party on your first run I only recommend geting 1 or 2 from the other houses as you will be needing a slightly larger party for late game maps and some of the paralougs and you should be able to earn one or two of your favorites from the other house's through gifts and natual progression. The game is designed sticking to your own house for your base playthrough and then lets you get more in NG+ via the renown system which will quickly have the other houses saying where did everyone go? Hell if you stick with swords which Sword of the Creator kinda encourages you to do the game basicly gives Felix to you and hes a great unit for any house in my opinon.
In my first run, I only recruited Lysithea and Annette. I had heard that the latter could learn Excalibur, and was eager to see the new animation. (It's alright, but I still prefer GBA animation) Lysithea, from the beginning was destined to be my S-support. Turns out that, with her 80+ damage from the Hades spell, I had good taste...
And as a side note to anyone watching this guide after being worried about the conspicuously empty slot on the battle deployment menu: don't be. In addition to this mechanic every route gives you a few units for free, and past a certain point Byleth's natural progression will let him recruit certain Knights/trainers without a struggle. Also when a Mission Assistance unit performs an action, they get affinity from Byleth anywhere on the map. This is particularly useful for unit who gain Faith while NPC, as they can heal everyone's papercuts from across the map and still get closer to recruitment.
Surprisingly, I'm already at 3 students left to recruit (being Lorenz, Sylvain, and Marianne) and at ch. 10, and it's my first playthrough! Can't believe I've done this good so far.
Lol I missed 6 students because I never gave them gifts because the game does not tell you that you dont even need weapon ranks and stats if you have B Support with them.
MathMahm while this is true, it makes it so that you don’t have to face them post-time skip. Also to recruit everyone the fastest, I started by constantly tutoring Byleth in the weapon/skill that got the most students (lances, reason, and bows are good examples) wile getting C-tank with everyone. Once I was down to only a few students left, I took the B-rank support option to recruit them.
I'm a Deers boy and am currently 35 hours in and only on chapter 10. There are too many sweet children I must adopt in this game. Ashe, Sylvain, Annette, Caspar, and Linhardt. I wish I knew you could bypass the stat requirements, would have saved me a lot of time grinding a bunch of skills I'm never going to use on my Swordmast Byleth.
Been in the mood to replay this game and have been binging content. I saw this video after my first play through and wanted to say thanks for the help all those years ago, when I finally did Silver Snow route I got everyone. This guide has been so memorable I could recall the information reliably, thanks for helping my past 360 hours and my future playthroughs of this game.

Yeah no im having fun with Hard Classic, for the mock battle which was all I was able to do, didn't expect Dimitri to have higher strength then Edelguard though. I hope I won't run into any "HOW 2 MAKE BERNEDETTA REPLACE FLAME EMPORER" videos or whatever spoiling a hidden thing, but stuff like "yeah thing we all already knew is thing" in title, I could care less. I'll probably go back and watch it next century.

Probably one of the better videos out there on Three Houses. Actually... this is the best kind of guide video: simple, concise and proper tips that others may have not mentioned or aware of. Also, I appreciate blue shirt Anakin being brought back to take out the trash, dude's like a spirit animal to the channel. You may not rack up the views like RamZaes or some other TH-camr due to a lack of a naturally seeded audience, but hopefully, this will get around once I share it. Keep going man, really loving the content even if I don't have the game... YET.

NG+ has been pretty chill. As long as you don't want to use Renown for other stuff you can just dump it on Professor Level for the high action points and everytime you finish quests use the renown to buy the supports you did on your first run or on skills. The action points help on the supports you haven't done or on training up certain skills that you can't buy with renown. All I have to focus on are the ones I didn't recruit on my first run and that's it. I super agree with you on the not recruiting everyone on the first run. The main cast of every house is likable as fuck and is enough for the run. At most I recommend you recruit people you're interested in or want for their usefulness in battle (i.e., Felix is a good dancer). Plus recruiting a lot of characters on your first run is likely gonna become an inconvenience. Edit: Also recruiting isn't totally bad. A lot of the recruits I got on my first run had really interesting supports with the house leader and the other students they could support. Paralogues are also a big plus (Leonie got such a good weapon out of one).

I recruited Ignatz at the last month and trained him to be a wyvern rider so he ended up marrying Petra. Brigid has a booming economy now. Didn't know about the skill requirements lowering so the few students I did recruit felt like they really believed in the cause. Also didn't know about Sylvain so he died like a dog to his best friend lmao

That's actually how I got my first recruit (Lysithea), she asked to join me within the first couple months. Then I focused on grabbing Leonie & Felix, followed shortly thereafter by Shamir.
Here is a quick tutorial on recruitment(particularly for Black eagles): Make everyone B support with tea, meals and gifts. (One prefered meal or 3 gifts for C support; then for B support, one meal, one tea and 4 targeted gifts is enough) and recruit them after seeing their cutscene. (run around until it appears after the support page shos the net rank) NOTE: if in support the letter changes from true to faded, there is a chat you must walk to. Leonie is like that and i believe the others are too (unconfirmed) by chapter 11 - pre-skip you can get Leonie. (well everyone, I got ignatz at chapter 9 and everyone else by chapter 11 cuz i was trying the grinding way. (see below) OR grind in the following way: faculty training: Faith until budding potential unlocked, Reason until you unlock one spell, riding, flying. class certification: Prioritize Byleth with basic: monk, soldier, mercenary. you will grind sword, axe, lance and spells (white and dark) until C Intermediary: armored knight, cavalier Grind: once a month, go into free battles and grind until you are in B level faith, axe and sword. C in everything else. Make sure you reclass to ensure the Armor, riding skills reach C. You should good with stats past level 16-17. Optimize: (black eagles): don't invest in brawl, hvy armor, flying. brawl is only for Caspar and you already have him. take Ingrid and Raphael eating (which they love) and get them to B support. sweet tea and sweet meals for Lysithea and Annette and you can avoid faith to B. focus on Authority, lance and riding when grinding. (lance and riding go together) and you can recruit everyone pretty early. Only question is what to do with sword B for felix. Axe C also if you take a certain route. Felix is the most predictable in Tea conversations or just bring him into the battles for the month. more than enough to raise a level. (beware, you cannot raise two levels at once. ) Teachers will join you after lvls or events. and f**** Cyril. I gave him 5 gifts and he isn't even lvl C. Go find your own lost items, little boy
When you finally get the Eastern/southern merchants, you can buy a lot of bait. Pick a fishing day (I had a lot of luck on the fistfuls(?) of fish) and try to get perfect catches. You can achieve a higher professor level quickly, enabling you to do more activities sooner rather than later. You can wait it out for a better catch or even a golden one but after 3-4, your bait will be eaten. And you do NOT need 5* bait to hook 5* fish. Save your cash and use the cheap bait. It gets the job done at no activity point cost :)
3H was more or less what I've wanted from FE in years. A tragic tale of war where there is no right path, resources are finite albeit plentiful, and it tries something new and it actually kinda works. My only real gripe is that a couple tweaks could have made it better. Just as battalions can be equipped, mounts should have been implemented much the same way with air and ground options for fliers. I mean they've got legs. Why must they always be flying? Anyone could use a mount but it would depend on their skill whether they're efficient with one. On that note, later classes should have been based around possessing greater qualities rather than "It's just this but now there's a horse".
@@crestflames492 I mean an option for flier mounts to run. They'd trade the flying weakness for only a mount weakness and have less movement. My idea came from the final boss of PoR. The dragon flies when moving but not during combat
I admit, it was rather irritating for me to look up the Master class options and realize that half of them were on horseback, which isn't an issue...until you realize you haven't raised lances or riding in any of your units because you weren't preparing for the future. And also I was pissed when I finally got Claude to a Bow Knight just before the time skip...then he comes back with an effing wyvern. I mean, yay, but also, boo, I wasted a master seal on that. But either way, a lot of the master class options just felt somewhat lackluster to me, or had awkward requirements that, as I stated before, if you weren't training in those specific stats, youd more or less need to abuse every little thing just trying to get them close enough to attempt a class change. It felt really unbalanced when you were raising your unit to be a warrior and then "oops the three axe wielding classes either require a horse, a wyvern, or brawling levels lol good luck grinding out lance and riding or flying just to advance to the last class"
@@blackwinggamer6676 That's not as bad, IMO, as me winding up wasting a Master Seal to make Byleth a Mortal Savant just before the battle that unlocks the Enlightened One class for Byleth. I was more than a little annoyed at that.... :P
Feeding gifts after a perfect tea time really boosted my support gains. That combined with some of these tips made it pretty easy to get all the students I could on my first run
I'm glad to know that mission assistance does actually help. i only did it one time and I didn't notice a difference in support - it is plausible that I wasn't paying attention - anyway, so I didn't do it again. I have my eye on three characters I want to recruit. Been working hard, but I see that I can streamline my attempts with your methods. Thanks!
I thought I would recruit a bunch of characters into the Blue Lions, but I just love all my characters too much to bench anyone. Only ended up getting Ignatz. Also needed space for OP Catherine and Shamir.
Grab Lysithea. She's an absolute monster. Plus, with her Crests (she's one of only two characters that I'm aware of who has *two* Crests), she has the ability to use both Catherine's sword & the Relic from Lorenz's Paralogue. Her Magic hits like a truck, she tends to gain enough Spd that she can double enemies rather easily, can gain a respectable Evasion rate for a Mage, she has a good Crit Rate, and she's downright adorable in some of her supports (like when she tries to "bribe" Felix with cake....only for him to point out to her that he doesn't like sweets), etc. My Lysithea can usually do a minimum of 51 damage with Miasma *without* a Crit....and Miasma is one of her *weakest* spells! Lysithea can pretty easily become one of the most OP units in the game. Even "The Immovable" (which had 4 full health bars!) was still taking a boatload of damage from her even on his final health bar which had him at almost 100 HP. Don't miss out on Lysithea, you'll regret it if you do, since I don't think you want her abilities being used *against* you after the time skip hits.
Well this is certainly very good to know! I mean I did Recruit Dorothea, Felix, and Bernadetta already using the stat method for my first run, but this is certainly an alternative method that I’ll definitely try to do on subsequent runs! Thanks so much Chaz!

@@Infinite_exhilaration I'm so happy I picked Black Eagles on my first play through. Really didn't see that one coming and made that entire betrayal and final fight all the more impactful. I thought because of the Three Houses set up this might be the first Fire Emblem game in history where the Empire wasn't war mongering land stealers. Oh well.

If you have a B support, you can also just talk to them during exploring. Take note though, if you start the recruitment conversation and say no for whatever reason, you lose your ONE chance for the day to recruit them.

Yup. From what I've been told safest bet is B support plus D rank in the skill they prefer. Doesnt always matter though.
I've had one student come into class to join after I had their weapon skill at D. 2 I invited without their weapon skill and also agreed. Then one with their weapon and they accepted. So idk if it is just luck. But the weapon skill has helped, but wasnt always needed.
Sadly that doesn't work for hilda when you are BE, she doesn't have the recruit option over gift giving or lost items but does gain tea time at C support. Just gotta save scum (just learned that from the video) after you get her support high and hope she shows up.

I agree, it helped me to get almost all units I was interested for my 1st playthrough (I still have to recruit one more and I'm working for it, I believe I will succeed before reaching the story mission of chapter 11, currently on chapter 9), I was interested in Hilda but... my current playthrough plan won't allow me to get her because story reasons (yeah, going for the secret Black Eagles division), well, that will be for the normal Black Eagles run and the other two routes.
The real question though is...can we recruit Gatekeeper? X3

I'm playing the Black Eagles, and I refused to allow myself fight her and Mercedes, because I'm aiming for the secret route and (at this point it shouldn't be a suprise) that way I can save myself the grieve of killing them, plus, I like both of them.
I'm finsh with my GD route today and I join the Black Eagels right now and in the Golden deer route I didn't see Annette in the 5 year time skip did I miss any mission or I did kill Annette but didn't realize if it was her Lol
Annette is a true darling. I'm playing BL route and she's one of my favorites. I definitely won't be able to to overlook recruiting her during a different playthrough!

You can use what ever gift you want but i had so many flowers from planting so i used those. Keep in mind i think certain characters are locked cause i didnt get all of them. Not that i really tried

My first playthrough, I only recruited the cream of the crop. From there, only the cream of the cream joined me in battle.
I’m happy with my team and I feel a sense of accomplishment knowing I built these guys from the ground up like a true teacher.

Bernadetta and ashe made it into the team and Felix/mercedece and somebody just because I could get them.

This is great for everybody except Ferdinand and Caspar, at least in Blue Lions route. Their B Supports are timeskip locked. I've recruited every other character.
I see this being more of a problem with Ferdinand tbh, because he requires Armor rank to join you. This rank especially is hard and pretty impractical to build, so you will need to try REALLY hard to recruit him.
Because gauntlets are so good anyway (especially in earlygame where almost eveeything weighs you down like crazy), it should be less of a problem for Caspar. In fact, in my blind run he was the first one I recruited on to the BL house.
I believe having the amount of points needed for getting a B rank with Ferdinand is sufficient. It worked on my Blue Lions playthrough anyway, had to ask him though.

I found a method to level up all skills to maximum very fast, like armored from c to a+ in 15 minutes.
Step 1, have an armored knight or unit with enough defense to be able to tank infinitely
Step 2, have access to adjudants, and pair up the character you want to level a skill with with said tank. Adjudants gain the full benefit of combat, skill and even class experience. They gain experience in the skill you have equipped with the adjudant before starting the map, including riding (be a cav unit), faith (equip nosferatu) and the rest.
Step 3, equip the tank with broken or rusted weapons, so it becomes difficult for it to kill a unit. Rusted weapons never break, and you get points for that weapon type regardless if you hit or miss.
Step 4, skip enemy phase in options. This is what basically makes it insanely easy and not time consuming to do.
Step 5, do a bandit map, most preferably ones without mages and with bushes, and draw as much fire to you as possible, then simply end the turn. The unit and the adjudant basically gain a handful of points per combat done in the enemy phase. If there are 4 bandits and 2 archers, you gain like 24 points in your skills per turn. And since a turn lasts like one second, you level up skills within minutes.
I do not recommend doing this in normal playthrough as basically the point of the game is to use your head and plan skill development accordingly. This method completely removes this element. But im having fun building a fully s+ edelgard with all classes unlocked.
Also, do the Sothis paralouge and loot the chest. You will find a Knowledge Gem, which doubles skill point gain when it is equipped.

That's about as broken as abusing rounding with bonus exp in PoR and save scumming for stats.
@@shawn1603 speaking of save scumming, if you level up and dont want the stats, just turn back time and not level up that unit until you start another map. The stat gains arent set in stone as with conquest :)

No. ....it's better!
Except for the characters you can never recruit if you don't pick their path (Dimitri & Dedue being Blue Lions only, Edelgard & Hubert being Black Eagles only, and Claude being Golden Deer only). All other students can be recruited by any House (though it's very hard to recruit Hilda if you're with the Black Eagles). Also, some characters will turn on you or be impossible to recruit if you go Empire path (in my experience, those being Catherine, Rhea, Seteth, Flayn, & Cyril).

I like the irony of it though, hence why recruiting Felix in CF and having him fight certain BL characters is so amazing and tragic for his character.

on my first play through of the game, I wasn't able to recruit ANY students because I did not know this. I figured out this method on my second playthrough by complete accident, and I felt like the game had lied to me.
But I feel that it made the memories of playing part 1 feel a lot more impactful when you have to face your old classmates later on.

Now, after the time-skip I feel like crap for failing to recruit everyone...
You don't need to wait for the students to ask to join your class most of the time. If you want to proc the support in the monastery, you can just fast travel and it will load in.
After that, you can just fast travel again to reload the map again and then you can try to attempt to recruit them. I recruited most other students this way, the only one I had to wait to ask me was Ingrid
Good video and guide. The only other tip I have is that another good cost-efficient way to get support points is by adding the student you want to recruit to your team with Mission Assistance, then assigning them as an adjutant to Byleth (or whoever else you want them to support with). They get support points with Byleth for every combat, and anytime Byleth gets support points with a student, the adjutant will get them as well. Keeps them safely off the field too.
+Chaz Aria LLC Or just wait for new game plus and use all your extra money to bribe them with gifits and I 100% agree with sticking to mainly your core party on your first run I only recommend geting 1 or 2 from the other houses as you will be needing a slightly larger party for late game maps and some of the paralougs and you should be able to earn one or two of your favorites from the other house's through gifts and natual progression. The game is designed sticking to your own house for your base playthrough and then lets you get more in NG+ via the renown system which will quickly have the other houses saying where did everyone go?
Hell if you stick with swords which Sword of the Creator kinda encourages you to do the game basicly gives Felix to you and hes a great unit for any house in my opinon.

In my first run, I only recruited Lysithea and Annette. I had heard that the latter could learn Excalibur, and was eager to see the new animation. (It's alright, but I still prefer GBA animation) Lysithea, from the beginning was destined to be my S-support. Turns out that, with her 80+ damage from the Hades spell, I had good taste...

And as a side note to anyone watching this guide after being worried about the conspicuously empty slot on the battle deployment menu: don't be. In addition to this mechanic every route gives you a few units for free, and past a certain point Byleth's natural progression will let him recruit certain Knights/trainers without a struggle.
Also when a Mission Assistance unit performs an action, they get affinity from Byleth anywhere on the map. This is particularly useful for unit who gain Faith while NPC, as they can heal everyone's papercuts from across the map and still get closer to recruitment.

Surprisingly, I'm already at 3 students left to recruit (being Lorenz, Sylvain, and Marianne) and at ch. 10, and it's my first playthrough! Can't believe I've done this good so far.
Lol I missed 6 students because I never gave them gifts because the game does not tell you that you dont even need weapon ranks and stats if you have B Support with them.

MathMahm while this is true, it makes it so that you don’t have to face them post-time skip. Also to recruit everyone the fastest, I started by constantly tutoring Byleth in the weapon/skill that got the most students (lances, reason, and bows are good examples) wile getting C-tank with everyone. Once I was down to only a few students left, I took the B-rank support option to recruit them.

I'm a Deers boy and am currently 35 hours in and only on chapter 10. There are too many sweet children I must adopt in this game. Ashe, Sylvain, Annette, Caspar, and Linhardt. I wish I knew you could bypass the stat requirements, would have saved me a lot of time grinding a bunch of skills I'm never going to use on my Swordmast Byleth.
Been in the mood to replay this game and have been binging content. I saw this video after my first play through and wanted to say thanks for the help all those years ago, when I finally did Silver Snow route I got everyone. This guide has been so memorable I could recall the information reliably, thanks for helping my past 360 hours and my future playthroughs of this game.

Probably one of the better videos out there on Three Houses. Actually... this is the best kind of guide video: simple, concise and proper tips that others may have not mentioned or aware of. Also, I appreciate blue shirt Anakin being brought back to take out the trash, dude's like a spirit animal to the channel. You may not rack up the views like RamZaes or some other TH-camr due to a lack of a naturally seeded audience, but hopefully, this will get around once I share it. Keep going man, really loving the content even if I don't have the game... YET.

NG+ has been pretty chill.
As long as you don't want to use Renown for other stuff you can just dump it on Professor Level for the high action points and everytime you finish quests use the renown to buy the supports you did on your first run or on skills. The action points help on the supports you haven't done or on training up certain skills that you can't buy with renown.
All I have to focus on are the ones I didn't recruit on my first run and that's it.
I super agree with you on the not recruiting everyone on the first run. The main cast of every house is likable as fuck and is enough for the run. At most I recommend you recruit people you're interested in or want for their usefulness in battle (i.e., Felix is a good dancer). Plus recruiting a lot of characters on your first run is likely gonna become an inconvenience.

Also recruiting isn't totally bad. A lot of the recruits I got on my first run had really interesting supports with the house leader and the other students they could support. Paralogues are also a big plus (Leonie got such a good weapon out of one).

I recruited Ignatz at the last month and trained him to be a wyvern rider so he ended up marrying Petra. Brigid has a booming economy now. Didn't know about the skill requirements lowering so the few students I did recruit felt like they really believed in the cause.
Also didn't know about Sylvain so he died like a dog to his best friend lmao

That's actually how I got my first recruit (Lysithea), she asked to join me within the first couple months. Then I focused on grabbing Leonie & Felix, followed shortly thereafter by Shamir.

Also after you B support just fast travel then go back to the person and recruit them manually
Here is a quick tutorial on recruitment(particularly for Black eagles):
Make everyone B support with tea, meals and gifts. (One prefered meal or 3 gifts for C support; then for B support, one meal, one tea and 4 targeted gifts is enough) and recruit them after seeing their cutscene. (run around until it appears after the support page shos the net rank)
NOTE: if in support the letter changes from true to faded, there is a chat you must walk to. Leonie is like that and i believe the others are too (unconfirmed) by chapter 11 - pre-skip you can get Leonie. (well everyone, I got ignatz at chapter 9 and everyone else by chapter 11 cuz i was trying the grinding way. (see below)
OR grind in the following way:
faculty training: Faith until budding potential unlocked, Reason until you unlock one spell, riding, flying.
class certification: Prioritize Byleth with basic: monk, soldier, mercenary. you will grind sword, axe, lance and spells (white and dark) until C Intermediary: armored knight, cavalier
Grind: once a month, go into free battles and grind until you are in B level faith, axe and sword. C in everything else.
Make sure you reclass to ensure the Armor, riding skills reach C.
You should good with stats past level 16-17.
Optimize: (black eagles): don't invest in brawl, hvy armor, flying. brawl is only for Caspar and you already have him. take Ingrid and Raphael eating (which they love) and get them to B support. sweet tea and sweet meals for Lysithea and Annette and you can avoid faith to B. focus on Authority, lance and riding when grinding. (lance and riding go together) and you can recruit everyone pretty early.
Only question is what to do with sword B for felix. Axe C also if you take a certain route. Felix is the most predictable in Tea conversations or just bring him into the battles for the month. more than enough to raise a level. (beware, you cannot raise two levels at once. )
Teachers will join you after lvls or events. and f**** Cyril. I gave him 5 gifts and he isn't even lvl C. Go find your own lost items, little boy
Every time the mission assistance character attacks or heals they also gain support strength with Byleth even when across the map.

Greetings and welcome. WELCOME TO CHOOSI'S HOUSE!
Ignatz is top tier taste. My first recruit. Not for stats, but just because I love him.
When you finally get the Eastern/southern merchants, you can buy a lot of bait. Pick a fishing day (I had a lot of luck on the fistfuls(?) of fish) and try to get perfect catches. You can achieve a higher professor level quickly, enabling you to do more activities sooner rather than later. You can wait it out for a better catch or even a golden one but after 3-4, your bait will be eaten. And you do NOT need 5* bait to hook 5* fish. Save your cash and use the cheap bait. It gets the job done at no activity point cost :)
3H was more or less what I've wanted from FE in years. A tragic tale of war where there is no right path, resources are finite albeit plentiful, and it tries something new and it actually kinda works. My only real gripe is that a couple tweaks could have made it better. Just as battalions can be equipped, mounts should have been implemented much the same way with air and ground options for fliers. I mean they've got legs. Why must they always be flying? Anyone could use a mount but it would depend on their skill whether they're efficient with one. On that note, later classes should have been based around possessing greater qualities rather than "It's just this but now there's a horse".

@@crestflames492 I mean an option for flier mounts to run. They'd trade the flying weakness for only a mount weakness and have less movement. My idea came from the final boss of PoR. The dragon flies when moving but not during combat

I admit, it was rather irritating for me to look up the Master class options and realize that half of them were on horseback, which isn't an issue...until you realize you haven't raised lances or riding in any of your units because you weren't preparing for the future. And also I was pissed when I finally got Claude to a Bow Knight just before the time skip...then he comes back with an effing wyvern. I mean, yay, but also, boo, I wasted a master seal on that. But either way, a lot of the master class options just felt somewhat lackluster to me, or had awkward requirements that, as I stated before, if you weren't training in those specific stats, youd more or less need to abuse every little thing just trying to get them close enough to attempt a class change. It felt really unbalanced when you were raising your unit to be a warrior and then "oops the three axe wielding classes either require a horse, a wyvern, or brawling levels lol good luck grinding out lance and riding or flying just to advance to the last class"
@@blackwinggamer6676 That's not as bad, IMO, as me winding up wasting a Master Seal to make Byleth a Mortal Savant just before the battle that unlocks the Enlightened One class for Byleth. I was more than a little annoyed at that.... :P
Feeding gifts after a perfect tea time really boosted my support gains. That combined with some of these tips made it pretty easy to get all the students I could on my first run
When I think about this feature it feels more funny that claude is alone like literally no teacher no singal student with him poor claude🤣

I'm glad to know that mission assistance does actually help. i only did it one time and I didn't notice a difference in support - it is plausible that I wasn't paying attention - anyway, so I didn't do it again. I have my eye on three characters I want to recruit. Been working hard, but I see that I can streamline my attempts with your methods. Thanks!
I thought I would recruit a bunch of characters into the Blue Lions, but I just love all my characters too much to bench anyone. Only ended up getting Ignatz. Also needed space for OP Catherine and Shamir.

Yes once I realized how powerful she is as a sniper and was A rank already? I was like shidddddddd lol
Grab Lysithea. She's an absolute monster. Plus, with her Crests (she's one of only two characters that I'm aware of who has *two* Crests), she has the ability to use both Catherine's sword & the Relic from Lorenz's Paralogue. Her Magic hits like a truck, she tends to gain enough Spd that she can double enemies rather easily, can gain a respectable Evasion rate for a Mage, she has a good Crit Rate, and she's downright adorable in some of her supports (like when she tries to "bribe" Felix with cake....only for him to point out to her that he doesn't like sweets), etc. My Lysithea can usually do a minimum of 51 damage with Miasma *without* a Crit....and Miasma is one of her *weakest* spells! Lysithea can pretty easily become one of the most OP units in the game. Even "The Immovable" (which had 4 full health bars!) was still taking a boatload of damage from her even on his final health bar which had him at almost 100 HP. Don't miss out on Lysithea, you'll regret it if you do, since I don't think you want her abilities being used *against* you after the time skip hits.

Well this is certainly very good to know!
I mean I did Recruit Dorothea, Felix, and Bernadetta already using the stat method for my first run, but this is certainly an alternative method that I’ll definitely try to do on subsequent runs!
