I love the battle of the eagle and lions with solo Byleth. In story it's supposed to be a chance for the students to show what their made of. And then there is teacher kicking everyone's ass on her own.
The real irony about the beast chapter is Jeralt DOESN’T die. He takes too much damage and retreats (prolly believing in you to succeed where he is unable to) and therefore is unable to be murdered by Kronya as the plot demands...
It might seem cruel, but FE protagonist status doesn't come for free. If the dad toll isn't paid, Byleth will become a mere mortal and die in one of their many near death experiences, so yes, Jeralt has to die
Next part is just going to be a 20 minute guide on how to beat Reunion at Dawn solo & a mental breakdown in the final chapter (AKA Miracle on Garreg Street). For real though, just making to the time-skip on Maddening with only Byleth is a hell of an accomplishment in of itself.
The fact he wasn't talking about equipping the right skills to defeat reuinion at dawn during this map makes me worried. The map's a lot easier if he just lets his party die, but his self imposed rule says they can't see combat, which means you need to just kamikaze Byleth into all the enemies turn 1 and enemy phase the entire army.

Otherwise, Wo Dao and Sword Prowess to attempt at dodge tanking then finishing off the archers in the next few turns. Edit: Here's clearly running one or both of these in the final Part 1 Chapter.
@@benblem147 if by Clash you mean the Path of Radiance chapter, then my good sir, I am two chapters away from it in my current run. So far, I've gotten incredibly luck with everyone except my mages. Mist even has A rank swords, 13 Strength and defense, and 24 speed as a level 14 Valkyrie. I can't wait to get the Runesword and have 41 Magic Attack.
I remember when this video randomly popped up in my recommended during summer 2020, and I watched it and thought it was interesting, and this was before I had ever played fire emblem. Then I decided to try the game, and before I knew it I had 400+ hours on the game and had finished every route and beat the game on maddening. So thanks Mekkah for introducing me to this masterpiece of a game

Im sure you are doing it on purpose already but the best combo i've found in this game seems to be flying A+ sniper with close counter since you can get the +30 evasion on waiting add the evasion ring and you can counter from any range no matter how often you get attacked in one turn allowing you to sweep pretty much all non special charachters and monsters in the game even on maddening.
Nice Job on the solo so far. I'm currently doing a Golden Deer Maddening Ignatz solo with no dlc and all paras so I respect others who do similar things

Fun tip: During Miklan's beast fight, if you at least have Curved Shot, you can just stay near the stairs and just fight him from there instead of getting in range of him.
A quick word regarding monsters and bow users: when a monster attacks at 1 range, they get countered by bow users (even without close counter) since some parts of them are still at 2 range, that's why they don't really care about the distance.

I will say though... while Peg Knight was obviously invaluable to you in the early game, I wonder if it’s possible to do this as male Byleth, if just so you can become War Master for the overpowered perfected skill (which helps gauntlets a lot and also makes worrying about speed late game unnecessary). Idk... surely no one is mad enough to do this whole process after seeing how long it took Mekkah... right??

Solo runs are weirdly fun in this game. Did one for Leonie in Hard Mode. Great job on making an entertaining and informative video on Byleth in Maddening.
Right now I'm doing a maddening solo with Annette with fairly different rules. First of all I'm playing on Casual mode to just not worry about force deploys. First problem is that Annette straight up does not have enough firepower and bulk to live at the start, so I needed to allow other people to fight for mock battle and chapter 2, having to be satisfied with just having Annette finish enemies off. After that however, no one else needed to attack anymore, and given they were basically at base, it soon became impossible anyway. Thanks to grinding ranks through auxliary battles, Annette quickly stood up on her own, high prowess skills, access to every class for class bases and masteries, expanding my strategies a lot. For Chapter 5, I tried a lot of strategies, first pegasus knight, trying to rush it, but I wasn't quite strong enough. Later I tried armor, since it let me no damage everything except mages, some fighters and armors, and even got pretty close, but eventually the gambits and poison strikes got me. My winning strategy was archer, letting me pick off a ton of enemies through the wall to reduce their density, and kiting away people. Beast Miklan was a joke because I could just shoot him from out of range, I even used 4 range curved shot to break all his shields. I played Ch 6 as a cavalier instead of pegasus knight to have more mov, deal with archers easier and also because I had good enough speed to double people even with the speed penalty, Actually ended up completing it in exactly 25 turns, but I wasn't in that much danger. 7, gronder was actually fairly interesting, it was exactly then I reached level 20 for advanced classes, but then I realized I didn't have enough speed in wyvern rider to steal the evasion ring from Claude, I was 2 speed off, and I didn't have an early enough save to go back and try to fix it. I was about to give up on that thievery, when a friend from discord suggested Assassin, which has speed modifer higher than wyvern by exactly 2. I ended up going with that, and funnily enough it turned out to be a better strategy, swordfaire boosted my Levin+ sword, and stealth let me dance between the two armies, picking off enemies while they were fighting each other. Chapter 8 was fairly easy, I brought a chest key to get the def booster, and Lance of Ruin to kill DK again, and I even got some bulion for saving a few of the villagers. Chapter 9 actually made me want to die almost as much as Jeralt is trying, and I ended up cheating and healing him with Mercedes, I am actually floored you've managed to complete it without healing him, huge props for that. For the paralogues, most of them weren't that interesting, but I managed to actually do the Ashe/Catherine paralogue. I once again bended the rules a little, using some wacky things like retribution on green Catherine to kill the starting west mages, impregnable wall on ashe, and torching with other students but knowing when which enemies are moving and when reinforcements spawn (aka the time limit to kill the guys spawning them) makes it much easier and I think it's definitely possible with less cheating. Probably not without at least using torches on other people though. Another funky strategy was for rumored nuptials, since it's AM I first needed to actually level Ingrid up as an adjutant to get her to pegasus, but for Annette I actually went with Warrior instead. What I did was go right, then down, clearing the reinforcement spawning enemy, got Ingrid as close as possible, then let her reach the finish point with march ring and Stride Annette was carrying, bypassing the final reinforcements, not sure if march ring was necessary, but I preferred to stay on the safe side.
Congrats on 40k subs! I’ve seen a Byleth Solo New Game Maddening Run on Silver Snow (Hardest) before this and I expected the answer to stay the same. Byleth is very good (even without DLC) and can definitely Solo Maddening on Any route. The trouble spots are for the demonic beasts and the last Jeralt npc map. Timeskip can have some trouble spots, but with the right planning, it’s doable. Even on separate runs of Maddening, I don’t even progress past the prologue without byleth getting at least 1 Speed and some other stats. Good video and congrats again!
I know I'm a year late actually commenting, but I just barely finished a silver snow maddening run and I low key came to rewatch these two just for inspiration that it's possible lol (I also didn't use many BE units so the only way I was able to finish Hunting at Dawn without losing anyone (except Caspar rip) was watching you do it like 15 times). This also made me realize I can just not deploy every unit, so I made it through a lot of maps with just Ingrid and Petra, since I couldn't keep other people alive even if they were leveled. So anyway, moral of the story is my maddening mode run that I didn't even give myself hard challenges on was only successful bc of these videos lmao
Hey, I tried this with a friend. We managed to reach Part 2 but couldn't beat Battle before Dawn. But we did it with minimal strats. We just thought Byleth would be fine with that skill that gives you more avoid when you wait + a bow. We also failed to beat the map where Jeralt dies solo so we used some other chars for gambits. Also, congrats for 40k. You deserve it!
Even without an ‘official’ weapon triangle, it kind of applies since swords are fast, countering slow axes, which have no disadvantage to and therefore counter the precision of lances, which is effective against swords.
This is awesome, but also I thought I was going crazy hearing the FF 7 battle theme, as I just played Remake, and then OG, and then some more Remake, I've been talking about it with friends at work just this morning, and the guide is sitting on my desk. I was like 'something is wrong here' and I wasn't sure if it was me lol.
I'm the same with the weird pronunciation of Byleth, too. I always say " B-leth"/"bee-leth" (as in the buzz buzz bee or just the letter), even though I know that it's pronounced bye-leth. And I've called them that for so long that it's really hard to change my pronunciation of it. My bf finds the way I say it charming, at least- (Also, I love the video! You must have put so much time and effort into it...along with lots of sanity, because it looks like it really lives up to the "maddening" title.)

Right now I'm doing a maddening solo with Annette with fairly different rules. First of all I'm playing on Casual mode to just not worry about force deploys.
First problem is that Annette straight up does not have enough firepower and bulk to live at the start, so I needed to allow other people to fight for mock battle and chapter 2, having to be satisfied with just having Annette finish enemies off. After that however, no one else needed to attack anymore, and given they were basically at base, it soon became impossible anyway.
Thanks to grinding ranks through auxliary battles, Annette quickly stood up on her own, high prowess skills, access to every class for class bases and masteries, expanding my strategies a lot. For Chapter 5, I tried a lot of strategies, first pegasus knight, trying to rush it, but I wasn't quite strong enough. Later I tried armor, since it let me no damage everything except mages, some fighters and armors, and even got pretty close, but eventually the gambits and poison strikes got me. My winning strategy was archer, letting me pick off a ton of enemies through the wall to reduce their density, and kiting away people. Beast Miklan was a joke because I could just shoot him from out of range, I even used 4 range curved shot to break all his shields. I played Ch 6 as a cavalier instead of pegasus knight to have more mov, deal with archers easier and also because I had good enough speed to double people even with the speed penalty, Actually ended up completing it in exactly 25 turns, but I wasn't in that much danger. 7, gronder was actually fairly interesting, it was exactly then I reached level 20 for advanced classes, but then I realized I didn't have enough speed in wyvern rider to steal the evasion ring from Claude, I was 2 speed off, and I didn't have an early enough save to go back and try to fix it. I was about to give up on that thievery, when a friend from discord suggested Assassin, which has speed modifer higher than wyvern by exactly 2. I ended up going with that, and funnily enough it turned out to be a better strategy, swordfaire boosted my Levin+ sword, and stealth let me dance between the two armies, picking off enemies while they were fighting each other. Chapter 8 was fairly easy, I brought a chest key to get the def booster, and Lance of Ruin to kill DK again, and I even got some bulion for saving a few of the villagers. Chapter 9 actually made me want to die almost as much as Jeralt is trying, and I ended up cheating and healing him with Mercedes, I am actually floored you've managed to complete it without healing him, huge props for that.
For the paralogues, most of them weren't that interesting, but I managed to actually do the Ashe/Catherine paralogue. I once again bended the rules a little, using some wacky things like retribution on green Catherine to kill the starting west mages, impregnable wall on ashe, and torching with other students but knowing when which enemies are moving and when reinforcements spawn (aka the time limit to kill the guys spawning them) makes it much easier and I think it's definitely possible with less cheating. Probably not without at least using torches on other people though.
Another funky strategy was for rumored nuptials, since it's AM I first needed to actually level Ingrid up as an adjutant to get her to pegasus, but for Annette I actually went with Warrior instead. What I did was go right, then down, clearing the reinforcement spawning enemy, got Ingrid as close as possible, then let her reach the finish point with march ring and Stride Annette was carrying, bypassing the final reinforcements, not sure if march ring was necessary, but I preferred to stay on the safe side.

I’ve seen a Byleth Solo New Game Maddening Run on Silver Snow (Hardest) before this and I expected the answer to stay the same.
Byleth is very good (even without DLC) and can definitely Solo Maddening on Any route. The trouble spots are for the demonic beasts and the last Jeralt npc map. Timeskip can have some trouble spots, but with the right planning, it’s doable.
Even on separate runs of Maddening, I don’t even progress past the prologue without byleth getting at least 1 Speed and some other stats.

You can buy mini bows which have a range of 1 for player phase attack. Plus, once you forge it, it gains crit.

I know I'm a year late actually commenting, but I just barely finished a silver snow maddening run and I low key came to rewatch these two just for inspiration that it's possible lol (I also didn't use many BE units so the only way I was able to finish Hunting at Dawn without losing anyone (except Caspar rip) was watching you do it like 15 times). This also made me realize I can just not deploy every unit, so I made it through a lot of maps with just Ingrid and Petra, since I couldn't keep other people alive even if they were leveled. So anyway, moral of the story is my maddening mode run that I didn't even give myself hard challenges on was only successful bc of these videos lmao

Hey, I tried this with a friend. We managed to reach Part 2 but couldn't beat Battle before Dawn. But we did it with minimal strats. We just thought Byleth would be fine with that skill that gives you more avoid when you wait + a bow.
We also failed to beat the map where Jeralt dies solo so we used some other chars for gambits.
Also, congrats for 40k. You deserve it!
I'm not surprised you couldn't solo Battle Before Dawn, Byleth isn't even in FE7.

Even without an ‘official’ weapon triangle, it kind of applies since swords are fast, countering slow axes, which have no disadvantage to and therefore counter the precision of lances, which is effective against swords.

I'm the same with the weird pronunciation of Byleth, too. I always say " B-leth"/"bee-leth" (as in the buzz buzz bee or just the letter), even though I know that it's pronounced bye-leth. And I've called them that for so long that it's really hard to change my pronunciation of it. My bf finds the way I say it charming, at least-
