There's is a small delay on some games, but I personally don't mind as long as I can play on a bigger screen, and you probably get used to it after a while. Overall, I'm really satisfied 👍

Latency (lag) is never acceptable with video games, at least not in my opinion, so if you are a frequent gamer I would never recommend a cheap capture card. This video is still very informative just get a 1 or 200 dollar or higher capture card. In fact getting a 1080p 27" monitor at a pawn shop for $25 is your best bet if you dont plan on streaming your Nintendo games online. 👍

Thank you for the recommendation but I have 2 of them and has so much lag. If you want to play rpgs or something chill it is ok, but if is something like R-Type, Ikaruga, I do not recommend it at all.

Luck my laptop have a hdmi entry without needing those things, just plug the hdmi on it, boom, make sure to set 60hz or more, using HDR makes it better, nice video still knowing I knew to use hdmi on laptops.

This and other identical sticks create 720p = 60fps, 1080p = 30fps. 30 fps are sufficient for webcam and video telephony. In games, you have to try it out. The stick is great for 7.99 euros. If you really want 1080p 60 fps, you have to pay a lot more.

regardless, you still need the HDMI-USB Video Capture Card... the Laptop's HDMI is only for output and it can't receive Videos/Gameplays from external sources on its own... I mean... I've tried it as my laptop also has an HDMI Port and failed, so I went online and got myself the Capture Card... XD
Warning: when playing on the switch through steam the screen will go off due to inactivity as using obs as a screen for the switch, doesn't count as Obs being active, so your screen will go dark unless you have another method of playing switch on pc or have something in the bacgroudn running so that the screen won't go dark

because your HDMI port is an HDMI-output, whereas you need and HDMI-input to receive the data from the switch. thats what the capture card is for

In OBS you can set the imput for your audio to be the same input for your video, so yes.

This is totally possible but the input delay is absolutely awful cannot recommend unless you get a high end capture card!

Im pretty sure you can fix that by changing sleep in the settings and just putting on never turn off
