Also btw, you can't convince me that anyone has actually paid only $7 for this switch console 😂 I mean as you can see in this video, clearly anyone can buy this switch, but the whole $7 thing seems too good to be true to me... let me know what you think

Comment below if you've gotten a switch from Temu for less than $300... ($7, free, $100, etc.). I've had a few people say they have... but with my Temu experiences, I have a hard time believing it 😂

They do have $7 but only at specific time for a limited amount.
People buy a $7 Switch tells everyone then those people try out the app bc someone they know personally got a something legit, even though they probably won’t be able to get it.
      It’s a marketing deal.

@@TheGrimStrideI don’t think anyone personally knows someone who got those crazy deals. I know someone who uses Temu but, they really just buy stuffed animals for their kid. I’m not surprised that they actually get what they want in those cases as they are also spending about $20-30 on them. Not under $20 for a $300+ console.

For 20 seconds I thought this dude (Jacob R) was gunna give us a legitimate review. It’s disgusting how he is sent legit JPN switches and he tells us that’s what we can get for $7 on Temu. Absolute BS.
I’m just shocked an influencer what take such an obvious lie and spew it to his followers.
FYI: any game console you buy off Temu will be a poorly constructed, laggy, knock off. You won’t get anything close to a legitimate switch.

He put "$7" in quotation marks in the title, which is a big hint that the $7 Switch was not $7. He also clearly states in the video how much he paid and is SUPER CLEAR about it. You people act like he should reveal the conclusion of his video in the title. He spent a ton of money to make this video, and isn't required to tell you what he paid in the title. The title needs the "$7 Switch" part, so people know what the video is about. That isn't misleading at all, if anything, he is far and away clearer than most TH-camrs would be. He is spending money so other people don't have to waste their time.

I was on the Temu band wagon, loved the products and cost. However, I returned a dress because it did not fit. They issued me a credit. Then, they debited my back account the cost of the dress. Stating they did not receive the dress. So far, we are even except I don't have the dress. Then they send me a confirmation of receiving the dress. So, now they have the dress, they have the original payment and a second payment they debited from my account. I have been texting back and forth and they continue to state I have the credit. I decided I was tired of arguing with them and would use my credit and chalk up the $68.55 as a learning lesson. I tried to use my credit and received a notice that my credit was not available. I am posting this on all the Temu haul videos I can find. If you buy from Temu - do not return anything! They are horrible and have now charged me twice for a dress that I do not have.

It's weird how Hong Kong get the correct plug while Singapore and Malaysia get the wrong plug on their Nintendo power adaptors (we get European instead of British plugs on ours) and have to use plug converters. Probably was a decision on the part of the local distributor.
For me here in Singapore, I was able to get a power adaptor with the correct plug from a grey market seller, and I believe the distributors expected us to use plug converters.

You can tell it's a Japanese console by the serial prefix. NA consoles only start with XAW, XKW, XTW & XJW. Any other serial is foreign and can't be repaired by NOA but can be replaced with a domestic model. Japanese consoles will always end with J like XAJ, XTJ, XKJ, & XJJ. Foreign models won't have any issues downloading NA software and the digital software region is based on your account not the console. I believe it's due to Nintendo coming out with a new version to keep up with handhelds like the Steam deck etc. They're made in China and Japan so there is probably a surplus of consoles left in their factories so knowing that gamers are going after the new they're selling them at a lower rate to make something off them opposed from letting them become even more obsolete to the point they wouldn't be able to give them away.

This is more about Temu than Nintendo. This is unrelated to the Steam Deck and Switch rivalry. The Oled isn’t really meant to compete since there no real significant upgrades to the hardware. I didn't go into the wifi issue very much because retention data shows that most people don't care about the technical stuff, so I'll explain here.
The 2.4GHz wifi issue I had was because I wasn't close enough to my router (which is a fault of the crappy network card in the switch - I was literally 20ft + 2 plaster walls away from my router, and in a spot where every other device I own has 0 issues).
The bigger issue is that the upper channels in the 5GHz wifi band are blocked by both the Japanese and Hong Kong switch consoles. This is because there is a portion of the 5GHz wifi band that works in the US, but is restricted in Japan. So, if you're in the US (like I am) and your router is automatically assigning your wifi channels, you will likely have issues connecting to 5GHz. You can avoid this issue if you tell your router to not use those upper 5GHz channels, but the fact is, most people don't know how or don't want to do that.
So while the switch is region free, your wifi experience will not be the same if you buy a Hong Kong or Japanese switch to use in the US.

well if they did, this 'switch' itself probably has malware on it. So it may work, but when you're putting in your credentials it may save it out (along with any attached credit card info) from which they could make their money back through that.
used laptops/computers are prob more of a concern for viruses/malware, bc those platforms are much more open, but if something like that did happen on switch, it would explain the very low cost. They have to be losing money making it, the question is, why would someone sell you a product that costs them more to make?
$ cost isn't the only factor, be wary, usually when something sounds too good to be true, it's bc there's some other factor in play. Like any of the 'free' social media sites, they aren't charging you, but they are selling your data and preferences to advert companies and the like, and that's where they get the money/value from

I own a Japanese Switch, quite practically because they were much cheaper in Japan. (And I'm not adding my holiday travel to the cost) In Europe you'll pay around €330 for one and they rarely go on sale due to the (presumably) low margins. In Japan However they are much more affordable, I looked around Akiba and with the conversion at the time + the tax-free shopping, I managed to get a new OLED for €175. That's a huge discount for this type of hardware. There were used ones available too for even less. If those types of prices can exist on the market, temu would certainly have the capital to purchase a grand volume of them for a bulk discount increasing margin enough to make it interesting in NA or the EU, allowing them to sell them at MSRP for regular margin, and then every once in a while for 7USD or 10EUR without making a loss on it. It's effective marketing for a sketchy company of it's kind, but obviously it's safest to remember that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Tbh my regular switch that I bought at best buy in 2019 gets that network error a lot and sometimes I can't connect it to wi-fi for hours/days at a time, I called Nintendo support for it but nothing really helped. Maybe some switches just don't connect to routers very good?

    • @jrob0021

The switch just has a crappy network card. The real issue I had is the fact that the non NA switches don’t have full 5GHz support

The plugs for Hong Kong is UK standard, like they are in Iraq, Iran and quite a lot of foreign places that adopted the new British safety plug which replaced the older and more dangerous round pin standard which was killing more people a year than smoking back in the day as no fuses, no shielded prongs, heavy draw plugs unprotected except by the main boards two or three slow burn fuse wires which did pop but usually after frying humans or starting major fires so in the sixties HM Government said enough and ordered a new ultra safe system. The adapters are likely for those in HK who want to travel to mainland China who are on a different socket.

Even game lots on eBay are good. 13 games for 125$ otd it came w hitters including totk all w Og cases. I never tried temu. What kind of deals can I expect from them? I’m sure they’ll have preloaded mig switch carts. Did you get the mig card and dumper?

All right, time for some Wi-Fi five knowledge. Wi-Fi5 channels go from 36 to 165. They are selectable within the router manually. Non-DFS channels work with all Wi-Fi 5 devices, whereas DFS channels may not always work with every device, and share bandwidth with weather and radar equipment, which has priority over your Wi-Fi signal. Roku and Amazon fire Stick are two devices that I have found that will not connect or stay connected to a DFS channel. But if you manually exclude DFS channels or hard set your router to a non-DFS channel, all the sudden your Roku or fire Stick work just fine. This is because the Wi-Fi chipset in the device is not fully Wi-Fi5 compliant. In the example in the video, I would recommend he set his Wi-Fi 5 GHz radio to a channel between 36 and 64, preferably 48 and see how that works. If you can observe interference from other APs, then shift the channel or the frequency until that interference is gone. If your neighbors leave there router and auto channel hop mode, you may experience intermittent interference.

I kind of been on the fence about putting my trust in Temu this video kind of helped me kind of make a decision honestly to me it's not worth the risk I rather go to a Walmart and buy a Switch lite there I have no interest in buying a Switch OLED temu sounds too good to be true when they first came out and as the saying goes if it's too good to be true it probably is

Not a single Switch come up on Temu for me but only those emulator consoles. If it was indeed only $7 it was definitely some sort of money laundry going on. Temu is basically like Amazon or eBay where people can sell their staff. I can imagine these consoles were stolen or something. No way there is nothing wrong with them for $7.

It's not a scam if they're really giving away 10 OLED Switches a day for $7 as that's all their advertising. Only problem would be being 1 of the 10 to actually get one. Personally, I wouldn't even try as it's hard enough to buy a console that has millions upfront, PS5, as that took me almost a year. I was lucky with my Switches as I managed to get 2 from Best Buy because they allowed you to buy one of each color. Just had to pay for everything upfront. I then gave one to my nieces as a present.
