  • Whether you call them hidden, forgotten, or poorly explained, I will share 5 features and 2 tips that will help you get more from your compact tractor's front end loader (FEL). Additionally I demonstrate the John Deere Hydraulic Quick Disconnect on the 220R Front End Loader. This is based on my 4 years of ownership... Things I read in the manual, learned from experience, or from others within the tractor community. I learn something new all the time on these tractors...
    I believe many of these are relevant to other compact tractors, not just John Deere, but I can't say for sure.

    The round support pipe near the bucket on the loader. It can easily be used if you need to take the bend out of a steel T fence post. Also you can use it to bend rebar if you are pouring concrete and need to make some of them bent. I use the bucket lock when I have something in the bucket and need to get off the tractor to fix something. It keeps the bucket from lowering due to hydraulic 'bleed off' after some time.

    Tip #9 - read the operating manuals. They describe the bucket level indicator, the hydraulic pressure relief before dismounting the seat and the bucket float position - which is the icon with the wavy line underneath on the SCV decal on the tractor. But a great video. Thank you.

    I've read that the 2 holes on the loader are ACTUALLY for shipping reasons. But can be used for the reasons you mentioned. Great videos! I have a 2014 2032R and LOVE IT! Now...waiting for my 5075E! WORSE THAN CHRISTMAS! Keep up the great work?

    And one more tip when you remove the loader try to keep it out of the sunlight. If you leave it in the direct sunlight it will build pressure in the hoses and you won't be able to reconnect.

      @HardyBrothersOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting one I’ve not heard that but I have had to relieve pressure to reconnect hydraulics before. Thanks for sharing.

    • @HardyBrothersOutdoors
      @HardyBrothersOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Brian, thanks for watching and commenting... I will say, while I like the quick release in 7 years I have only removed the loader like 3-4 times. I usually remove the bucket and forks and get on with whatever I'm doing. The extra front end weight helps and I don't find it to be in the way. For the price, there may be other enhancements or attachments I'd put first. If you plan to remove your loader often then it would be a good purchase... For me that is one more thing to find a level place to store it... also be aware that if the hydraulics have any leak down or sag or the legs sink into the ground it can be challenging to hook back up, that did happen to me once. There isn't much slack in the lines with this quick attach. Keep me posted if you go forward with it and let me know what you think! - Josh

    The holes could be used to mount a bar across to the other side like a stabilizer. Allow enough room to open the hood and use something like 1” schedule 40 pipe. That’s what I did on my Kubota to use as a handle plus install a clamp on rack for carrying a rifle or tools .

    • @HardyBrothersOutdoors
      @HardyBrothersOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The popular commercial product is beet juice, sold as Rimguard. I've heard that in the past people used washer fluid or antifreeze... there are two issues to keep in mind... corrosion of rims and freezing if you are in cold temps... You are also looking for bang for your buck in terms of weight/vol and apparently beet juice has a high weight/gallon. I've also heard that it can be a mess if you get a hole in your tire and it's also added expense if you have a flat and have to refill the tires. So far i've not yet pulled the trigger on having them filled but Jason's 4052R has filled tires.

    On the mystery holes on my small 4110 they line up with grease fittings . I figured thats what mine are for cause the only way to get to them is thru that hole at a certain height of the bucket

    Good video ! Lots of tips! Could you helpme on my problem? My Hydrolic system is fine, full and clean, only 139 hours, 2016 John Deere, my 3 point is fine, my front wheels turn fine , I have no QUICK CONNECTS !! Just pins to release my bucket.
    My bucket will not do anything ?? I was living in another state for 1 year, let my neighbor use my tractor. (I know he ran it off of my culvert also tryed lifting a very large mixer concrete mixer) ? I returned to use it and my bucket will not do anything? No leaks. And have checked everything possible ! Any ideas please ? Sherry

    • @HardyBrothersOutdoors
      @HardyBrothersOutdoors  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When you say it won’t do anything does the loader go up and down but the bucket doesn’t tilt? I’m wondering if you have a hydraulic line that isn’t attached. This wouldn’t make it leak but it would prevent the flow of fluid to the cylinders. Just a guess but would need to know more. Another option is to post up on the Green Tractor Talk forum there are lots of very knowledgeable people there.

    • @HardyBrothersOutdoors
      @HardyBrothersOutdoors  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey sorry but unfortunately I’m not sure about backhoes on the 1025R. I do know they are completely different frames and hookups for the one series vs gen 2 two series. Might be worth throwing some photos up on the John Deere 1025R group on Facebook or the Green Tractor Talk forum on the Internet. Lots of great help in both places.

    • @HardyBrothersOutdoors
      @HardyBrothersOutdoors  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey unfortunately I’m not sure I know which part you are talking about as there multiple grease fittings on the loader arms.

    • @Undertaking-Life
      @Undertaking-Life 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, that is the part I am talking about. If you notice each grease fitting can be rotated with the nut on the back-side of the loader behind each and every grease fitting on the loader. If you put a wrench on the nut and turn it you will notice the hydraulic cylinder moves up, backward, down, forward and then back to upper position again. It appears that rotating the bolt makes the hydraulic cylinder shorter, longer, up, or down.

    Iv straight put some work in on mine 36 hrs to 1078hrs front driveline came out in two wheel drive snap both the pinion and the transfer case side pinion off 9,800 two days before it was off warranty thankfully keep them both tight it wasn't two wheel drive going down the road and it came out I literally couldn't get my pinky inside of the yolk that's how small it is I have a Moto 4 80cc Yamaha that the rear shaft on we're in is bigger than the driveshaft on other than that those pins don't ever use the galvanized ones how to figure that out the hard way $4,000 later two new hydraulics two new paddles that little flap you and the bar goes across that's only $11 for the correct pins or about $2.49 for hardened ones not worth I live in the mountains feels like it's top heavy it's really not other than that just check every nut and bolt I drew a little lines of a paint pen because I got the thing literally there was so many things that were loose it was unbelievable even that hose clamps for the the diesel we're not slid on all the way correctly just stupid little things repeatedly only thing I did is I move the rear lights to the inside of the tractor kind of annoying if you're always using rear attachments but I'm in the bushes 24/7

    Have you ever heard that John Deere ? Inventor or ? Never intended to have any implements in the front of the tractor, so the Hydrolics for the front things had to modify an after market thing and put a Splitter in the rear end Hydrolic hose ??? Did you ever hear of this ?? Because last year I lost my use of the loader, my Brush Hog worked just fine ! So I took my 3032E with 130 hours into a service place to getnit repaired . That's what I was told. Sounds kind of CORNY TO ME?
    So could u let me know what you think ? Could this be really true ?? Thank you if you could please answer me ?? Sherry

    • @HardyBrothersOutdoors
      @HardyBrothersOutdoors  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      so what i think they are talking about is a 3rd function diverter. It's pretty common nowadays and on some tractors comes standard. This allows you to do things like open and close a grapple vs just roll and raise something like a bucket.
