This was THE best video I have seen in months! Maybe even more than that. This was so perfect it couldn't have been scripted any better. The pile of misfortune in the end had me gripping my chair and laughing in the end. Great moments. Thank you.
As soon as I saw that Blackhawk coming in, I literally started speaking out loud "Jeeeesuuusss Fuck, this is not going to end well." Before I even finished that sentence, the entire mission went to shit. And after that, it was just more and more shitty each second. Goddamn. Love it.
Awesome. I get to live my PTSD all over again :) (I was the lone infantry survivor in the compound.) Made my peace the moment I called Broken Arrow. Everything after that was bonus. Insanely fun bonus.
+MrRakky There is a Broken Arrow that refers to nukes (a nuclear accident that does NOT risk nuclear war) and as you did I thought that was what he meant for a brief moment. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_military_nuclear_incident_terminology#Broken_Arrow
In 23:15, you can all appreciate how Freddy, the Man of Iron, stands upon the ruins of a building torn apart by an RPG, as he fires wildly after surviving an explosion
20:00 Dyslexci- "We have a dense and strong position. I feel confident in this." Crew- "OH SHIT OH THAT WAS AN RPG WTF???" Dyslexci- "See? Where doing fine." I love ShackTac
This has to be one of the best short(ish) vids that you've come out with. Even if you tried to script this it would fall short, this is raw, funny, and surprising in all the right places, and it's the fact that it's just unfolding without a script that makes it so damn good. Loved this, going in my faves. Thankyou.
It's interesting, watching Dslyecxi's command missions as opposed to the other shacktack squad / platoon leaders, how everybody has a different command style. Dslyecxi, in particular, maneuvers his fireteams like chess pieces, and it's really fun to contrast with, say, Kevb0.
If I had to sit down and think about it, I'm not sure I could decide whether I like Dslyecxi's or Kevb0's command styles better. Simple fact is, they both make for fantastic videos.
Wow, that was a great autorotation at the end. (The littlebird not the blackhawk) I'd thought ARMA cursed him with that second RPG and that he was going to just nudge one of those tree's and explode. He will never escape the PTSD however.
MAN, these was the best 32 minutes I expended in weeks. What a battle!! These errors can actually happen in real life... the heat of the moment! A lot of good lessons can be extracted from this video. Well, I think a medal for those guys in the last littlebird and the last guy (who are they?) it's a must!! And a lot of landings in confined spaces for the blackhawks, because God knows it's not an easy thing to do. Thanks, D. That's quality entertainment!
holy fuck that was intense! I felt bad for the guy to call in and survive a broken arrow attack just to be killed at the last minute as he gets on the little bird that carried him out, kinda wished his copilot would've watched the rear and that he and the pilot and the guy all flew out safely. man I love arma moments like this
Actually felt a pang of sadness at the "Broken Arrow, Broken Arrow" point. Had a hint of hope as the chopper came in to get him until I saw all the enemy free roaming all around though. Great vid.
man shit got kinda real at the end there, like apocalypse now/full metal jacket real. "...anyone on this net..." you know you're forever alone when you're sending that call out.
Well honestly.. that wasn't the best LZ. They could've gone north to the other compound since the South-East seemed to be the main attacking force. Besides that, awesome video!
That was very very good. You could hear in the radio traffic the intensity the players had. when the Blackhawk blew up, it was like watching a movie. I was like...YES they are gonna make it then....fuck, they're fucked. happened quit a lot in the last three minutes
Just someone making a mistake in a situation where mistakes cost a lot of lives. They're not a bad pilot, but they made bad decisions to lead to that outcome.
Well, as it was said. Arma physics are a bless for pilots sometimes. You gotta love when you scratch a surfice in 200m speed and you instantly explode. Or when you land "too hard", you explode. Yea, it's a bless :)
You know what would be cool? If someone made a map editor mod where you could import any topographical location on Google Earth into an Arma map foundation... then you could add smaller terrain details and objects as needed...
I am. I moved a few months ago for a new job and as a result I've been in a better place, which leads to me feeling more comfortable taking higher-responsibility leadership roles in session.
wow wtf...... everyone getting ready to get the fuck out of doge when heli went boom! insane defense from all team members. one of your best we need more surprise. lol
After this, I wouldn't be too surprised if the next big Co-Op Mission they did used boats or APC's instead. Or y'know, Dodge-em Cars with the way the pilots seem to be flying. (Not that I could do any better. I crash enough without being shot at, or trying to land in a tight space.) Jokes asides this was an amazing video, the move to rescue the downed pilots was incredible and the pull back seemed text-book. Then with all the rpgs flying over the place I wasn't surprised that the building took a hit. The image of the one person still stood atop immediately returning fire was unexpected though. When I saw the Pilot coming in even I could tell it was gonna crash. As Dslyexci said, it was a bad call. But they happen to the best of us. Everything that happened afterwards was pure gold. I'm surprised the remaining three didn't make a run for one of the nearby technicals, for all that they had to lose they could have driven out of the AO and got a LZ at a safer spot. I'd love to have been back at the drop-off point with Alpha and Bravo when the news came in. Especially with then the Broken-Arrow and then Reaper being hit twice. "...we're still doing all right! *BANG* I take that back." Just so many amazing moments in this video. Thank you for sharing Dslyexci.
I wasn't alone. I had Reaper to keep me company. And a whole lotta new friends, who, admittedly, weren't very pleased with the damage I'd done to their houses. I don't think I'll get back the damage deposit on those.
This was THE best video I have seen in months! Maybe even more than that. This was so perfect it couldn't have been scripted any better.
The pile of misfortune in the end had me gripping my chair and laughing in the end.
Great moments. Thank you.
It actually felt intense.. Can't get this kind of footage anywhere else. #OnlyInArma
I was rooting so hard for the last guy in the compound. Great content!
I thought Broken Arrow involved a nuke of some sorts :P
Great ending!
In gaming terms it means I/we been overrun drop everything you got on our location. The official military use has evolved into various meanings.
And now we know. And as the saying goes, knowing is half the battle, or something on the lines!
It's hard to pull a proper broken arrow when we only had 3 remaining rockets.
Freddy just didn't give a flying fuck.
To paraphrase Battlefield 3, "Motherfucker that was a RPG and I'm still breathin!"
Actually he said "Motherfucker that was a T-90 and I'm still breathin! I'm more than ok, I'm fucking awesome."
20:00
Dyslexci- "We have a dense and strong position. I feel confident in this."
Crew- "OH SHIT OH THAT WAS AN RPG WTF???"
Dyslexci- "See? Where doing fine."
I love ShackTac
Then everything went to shit "Feeling Confident in this" didn't work out so well... very good content
God fucking damnit. That was brutal.
"This is phantom 2, I got Reaper." was brilliant though. :D
"Lets just go. Lets just leave. I'm done. I wanna go home now."
That killed me
The most incredible comedy of helicopter errors I've ever seen in ArmA! :D
Well I'd say give the pilot a medal for getting the highest friendly kills in the mission
This has to be one of the best short(ish) vids that you've come out with. Even if you tried to script this it would fall short, this is raw, funny, and surprising in all the right places, and it's the fact that it's just unfolding without a script that makes it so damn good. Maybe one of those butterfly grenades blew the chopper up.
Underrated comment of the year everyone
what's awesome though a grenade with a scope and a silencer way more better than a butterfly grenade
Goddamn, this is the mission that just keeps giving
The cinematic camera panning is spot-on!

The scream when the major plot development happened was horrifying, Scared the crap out of me.
at what time in the video? cause the plot just developed and developed and developed till it was a raging monster of drama
Not gonna lie, I screamed "Noooo" when the helicopter exploded...
i had quite the giggle when it happened
Such an epic ending. Couldn't of scripted it. Looked amazing.
the ending has to be my favorite part. "lift lift" oh wait...yeah "how about walking" yeah i wanna go home
That scream when the heli explodes :O
Wow, that was a great autorotation at the end. (The littlebird not the blackhawk)
I'd thought ARMA cursed him with that second RPG and that he was going to just nudge one of those tree's and explode. He will never escape the PTSD however.
Imagine how SOL he would have been if he didn't know how to fly.
That was brilliant! The butterfly grenade seemed like something in an art house movie.Great editing.Keep up the great work.
That went from pretty decent to FUBAR to Blackhawk down sniper scene pretty fast...wonderful!
" Like a glove" Ace Ventura Pilot detective
This is the best gameplay I ever seen, I love these deserts combat missions.
I'd say fire the pilot, but I think his boss was already pretty explosive on the matter, so...
All of that gunfire and chaos going on and it's a fucking butterfly that makes you hit the deck... Love it! :D

Did no-one really shout "WE HAVE A BLACKHAWK DOWN"? What a letdown. :(
reading LZ Pumpernickel on the map made my day. xD
Great video! Poor chopper pilot, probably sank right through the ground when that happened.
Love the new sounds btw!
*boom*
"We're goin' down, we're goin' down!"
"Negative, we're alright!"
*boom*
"Take that back..."
man shit got kinda real at the end there, like apocalypse now/full metal jacket real.
"...anyone on this net..." you know you're forever alone when you're sending that call out.
Now that was movie quality epic drama. Well done!
credit to reaper for trying to pull harrier out
Lol, "this is Phantom 2, I've got Reaper..." That sure seemed to go south in a hurry. Didn't see that coming...
That right there was better entertainment than most paid movies I've seen in the last few years. Definitely liked and subscribed.
Was it pilot error in the landing or a really well place RPG that killed everyone?
Pilot.
There was a lot of pilot error this session it seems
To be fair, that was a really stressful LZ.
Well honestly.. that wasn't the best LZ. They could've gone north to the other compound since the South-East seemed to be the main attacking force. Besides that, awesome video!
pilot should have been a little more careful
Welp, they both ate the explosion at the same time, so I'd say... the Ghostboots Curse lives on!!! :D **Happy dance**
what a clusterfuck that last 8-10 min was, lol. It was exciting as hell. Great vid Dslyexi, great vid.
That was very very good. You could hear in the radio traffic the intensity the players had. when the Blackhawk blew up, it was like watching a movie. I was like...YES they are gonna make it then....fuck, they're fucked. happened quit a lot in the last three minutes
Army's Lawn Dart
(US) UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter. Aptly named for its inability to stay in the air. Also Known as a "Crash Hawk"
Oh god that scream was incredibly realistic for such a situation O___O
Things could not have gone worse. Great vid! Was there a new blackhawk pilot or was ShacTac just having a bad day?
Just someone making a mistake in a situation where mistakes cost a lot of lives. They're not a bad pilot, but they made bad decisions to lead to that outcome.
sounds about right
Bad decision making often makes for a very entertaining video.
I laughed my behind off tbh. I kept playing it over and over. The NOOOO!! is what did it for me.
Jesus, what happened? Did an RPG hit last second or something?
No, the pilot clipped a building on the way down.
Ah. Gotta love Arma physics.
I'm guessing the rotors tapped the building just right and....boom.
welcome to the looooovely world of arma...
Well, as it was said. Arma physics are a bless for pilots sometimes. You gotta love when you scratch a surfice in 200m speed and you instantly explode. Or when you land "too hard", you explode.
Yea, it's a bless :)
After re watching that heli explosion, I keep thinking that a RPG hit it. That just looked SO amazing as if it was out of some kind of movie.
No, it hit the wall. I would like to think an RPG hit it, but it was more than likely the wall.
+Footlong Pack Knowing arma, it was
Best part of video: Butterfly grenade.
Edit: This whole video was amazing.
Curious as to what gun sound mods you guys may be using in this vid, it's one of the best ones I've heard to date
That's one ballsy-ass technical driver at 26:33.
that failed extract was amazing god this game can be impressive
You know what would be cool? If someone made a map editor mod where you could import any topographical location on Google Earth into an Arma map foundation... then you could add smaller terrain details and objects as needed...
That could be the best ending I've ever seen.
It seems like lately you're leading elements ingame more often. At least that's what I get from the videos you put out.
I am. I moved a few months ago for a new job and as a result I've been in a better place, which leads to me feeling more comfortable taking higher-responsibility leadership roles in session.
Good to hear. :)
Oh and how's Eby?
"I'm shooting that one bullet (Shoots the one bullet) Done.." Best dude ever
Started out so badass, and then everything went to shit in a split second. Brilliant.
This. Was. Epic.
This was the best 32 minutes of my life in a very, very long time :''D
I jumped up when the Black Hawk Exploded was not expecting that
these videos are always the most baddass things in my subbox
that opening scene tho, so surreal
I saw the helo coming down and was like "there's no way those rotors are gonna fit-" BOOM LOL
They gonna make a movie out of it !
It's like you were cursed by the cruel sight of both Murphy and Finagle.
"Can we get a Blackhawk in here?"
"Depends on the pilot I guess, I could get a Blackhawk in here"
The real heartbreak
Holy crapo. Despite the losses, that was EPIC!
Was gripping my chair by the end of all this, holy shit in a hand basket.
wow wtf...... everyone getting ready to get the fuck out of doge when heli went boom! insane defense from all team members. one of your best we need more surprise. lol
When You take butteflies for grenades, now THAT is a PTSD :D
Well that was one hell of a ride.
By far the funniest shit you've made dyslexi
The situation sure turned FUBAR faster than a bat out of hell.
Just when you think things have gone to shit, it gets worse yet again
"I'm confident we can hold."
"THAT WAS A FUCKING RPG!"
"See? We are going to be fine :D"
hahaha these videos are really funny
Most amazing video you've done, in my opinion
Was this using the new lighting engine? It looked very good.
Do you guys have someone operating as Zeus when you do these missions? Adding EI, getting them to react more realistically etc?
"I've got Reaper"
why is it the character model sort of lifts it self slightly off the ground was you shoot?
I'm sure that you are not paranoid but that A1 has got it in for you D. Pretty and all but I'm not sure about that Sim. Best, Pete.
Incredible video. It was a real literal nail biter.
That was the most entertaining video I've seen from you in a while...so dramatic.
After this, I wouldn't be too surprised if the next big Co-Op Mission they did used boats or APC's instead. Or y'know, Dodge-em Cars with the way the pilots seem to be flying. (Not that I could do any better. I crash enough without being shot at, or trying to land in a tight space.)

Just so many amazing moments in this video. Thank you for sharing Dslyexci.
23:20 was anyone hit there? it looks like from what I can see that no one got hit(just walked it off).
So many things went catastrophically wrong. Oh man.
What was the deal with the heavy swaying of the chopper, it didn't look natural.
that tailstrke though, someone needs a few more practice flights.
i was thinking to myself isnt that landing a little bit too hasty and... boom
yup, i knew that gonna happend
Wow! That was some Blackhawk down shit going on right there!! haha
Great work all around charlie squad. Rescue and defense was on point. Shame about that pickup.
Dat camera pedal work do
pilots sure had quite a day... Murphy's law in full effect.
Poor Harrier, he was all alone out there.
I wasn't alone. I had Reaper to keep me company. And a whole lotta new friends, who, admittedly, weren't very pleased with the damage I'd done to their houses. I don't think I'll get back the damage deposit on those.
"We're still doing alright". *explosion* "I take that back".
This was a bad day for helicopter pilots.
As a professional Military Simulator gamer, I wanna ask you something what is the best PC War game?
I'm sure that the answer is Arma.
WOW what a mission!
you won't believe what happens when dslyecxi thinks it was too easy!
Epic ending, loved it.
Wow. Heli crashes can really screw up someone's day....
What happened to the blackhawk at the very end, when they just started walking? I dont own Arma so apologies if its some well-known bug.
He hit the ground too hard upon landing. The way that ArmA works is that if you do that your engine breaks...
Thanks for explaining!
That seems kind of odd, Bohemia should change that.
well that I presume is the way it has always been! TBH if they were going to fix that I would much rather them fix the bloody action menu first!
did they run out of fuel?
