I hope to continue this for a long time into the future, as well as share the ride with viewers like you, as corny as that sounds!

This is one of the best missions I've played in Arma recently, so if you have the opportunity to watch all the way through, you'll have a good time. For those that don't have an hour to spare, I've put a table of contents up for this one - it just gets crazier as it goes on.

I've had this game since the very beginning. I have played it for some hours now, but it is so intimidating. So much to learn. That moment when Air came in to support Alpha 2 I was cheering a little. Then that holdout in the building. Finally you sacrifice yourself covering the retreat. This mission was INTENSE!
I've watched hundreds of hours of ShackTac videos, and I have to say, this one is a gem. The ending had my pulse racing.

I'm looking for an old shacktac video, a bunch of members playing an arma 2 version of murder mystery where people that are suspected murderers. get voted to an ai firing squad while the murderer kills people when the screen turns black for everyone except him. I'm not sure whether dslyecxi uploaded that...spent a hour looking...

Dslyecxi, have you ever thought about what you'd want your last Arma 2 mission to be? Someday(Not for a loooong time I imagine, and hope), you'll play your last Arma 2 mission. Either you'll be done with these sort of things, or simply fade to another platform. How would you like to finish?

That's one hell of a lucky Venom extract for Apha. Where it first landed - short of the crane by about 20m, it was completely exposed due NE. Miracle it didn't get RPG'd or mowed by MG fire.

When you were looking for holes in the compound walls near the beginning, I couldn't help but think how handy a wall scaling/climbing mod would be. Plausible? Or just another arma pipe dream that would not be practical/usable/possible?

It was improper diving technique as a result of not knowing the performance of the aircraft, which was covered in my most recent AOF.

Questions in general not pertaining to this video (haven't watched yet): Why do you guys never use burst fire mode of the M-16 in close contact?
Also, have you tried coop missions against squads and vehicles commanded by players? Let's say in a pool of 100 players, 10 get chosen to command AI squads and pilot/command a few vehicles. It wouldn't have the same cat and mouse intensity of adversarial, but it would be more dangerous without the need to flood the players in AI to make it challenging. Imagine the impact of a single well commanded squad or SPG-UAZ instead of them running/driving right into the players for a duck shooting session. Or MI-8s really droping troops in good positions instead of flying overhead to be shot down by AR fire
Final question: Is there any russian/soviet/opfor/indep heli/mission envelope that would be interesting for you to pilot close to the roles of the Littlebird? Maybe the Gazelle/Bell 47 that I've seen that has a few weapons on it? I also remember a Mi-2 for OFP that was very sweet.

So did you think your sacrifice at the end saved your team? Or do you think it was just bad luck for him deciding to unload a clip into the smoke ?
Drake Kidd I'm no Dslyecxi, but I will throw in a wild guess that he didn't expect to get RPGd there. Although it probably did help the team after all - the RPG and the MG fire that cut him down didn't shoot at the others for the time being.

Can I ask what exactly a "broken arrow" is in military terms (or at least in shaktac terms) because google on comes up with references to nuclear wars or disasters and I doubt those take place in your campaigns and I was wondering why these "broken arrows" seem to be saved rather than used all the time if they're improtant.

I really love playing Arma 2 but I can only run it on really low settings because I have a really bad laptop...how much do you think it would cost me for a decent enough computer to be able to play Arma 2/3?

Killjoy MSI Gaming laptops do a decent job, with that said I will need 50 super computers to run this game to its max potential.
Derek McLaughlin tell me about it. I'm using an MSI GS70 Stealth Pro. It runs it on High with some tweaking (thank Tyr for a cooling pad, otherwise this thing heats up like a bitch) at 60fps in SP and at whatever FPS it wants in MP. While I'm able to get decent-ish graphics while still putting out a tolerable framerate, I'm goddamn better be able to for $2000.
Honestly, however, you could easily build a similar rig on desktop for half that price. My initial point still stands - nothing can run it well xD
