    Q: What server am I playing Arma games on, who are these people, and can you join?

    A: We do a mix of about 70% adversarial and 30% coop - both offer unique experiences and are a blast to play.

    A: I've been here from the start, with my Operation Flashpoint experience beginning with the demo's release in 2001. I went into the US Marine Corps shortly after (no relation!) and in 2004 I started playing OFP in multiplayer. 2006 saw me found ShackTac, which started in OFP and then transitioned through Arma 1, Arma 2, and finally, Arma 3. I hope to continue this for a long time into the future, as well as share the ride with viewers like you, as corny as that sounds!

    that moment when dslyexci opens up on something and you're all like "What do your eagle eyes see dslyexci". I swear that monitor of yours is godlike, because, to me at least, you're blasting away at what is essentially a pixel from like 800m away.

      +98765zach TH-cam does not represent ingame-quality. Ingame with a good resolution it's all pretty clear. And monitor-size helps. I'm playing on a 32" 1080p TV. Works like a charm.

      In some tank platoons, on occasion the tank whose gunner is the best in the platoon will receive one shell from each of the other three tanks. Makes some sense, right? ;)

      +Jim Redtalon - Much easier said than done. We could have blown through all our grenades in the first area before we'd even hit all the bunkers, assuming that we hadn't already needed to use some to repel attackers on the ridgeline.

    Great mission design! I don't think I've seen such a large-scale OP being handled this well before. May I ask who makes your missions?
    Of course that makes it a great video as well, just too bad you didn't get to work with the tanks clearing the town at the end ;)

    May I ask what the grey/black circle that showed up off and on throughout the match in your holo sight is? Never seen it before.

      +rdruzin - Probably the pointing mod I made for us. It points in the direction you're aiming and people very close to you can see it visualized.

    How are all the dynamic reactions handled during your missions ? Like reinforcement waves, vehicles comming in ? Is it all made by the mission maker with triggers and all or do you use zeus ?

      +Drekal95 Pretty sure they have a dedicated GM for coop missions. zx60 is the name I think. Last I heard they didn't use Zeus, but that was months ago when they were still doing coops in A2. I assume since they transitioned fully to A3 that their GM uses Zeus.

      +HeyItzMeDawg I know zx is usually the mission maker and he probably is Zeus most of the time because we can barely see him in missions. But the AI seems to behave incredibly well for Zeus AI. Either zx is incredibly good at microing arma AI or they are using some AI mod that works with Zeus.

      +killroy v2 It's really hard to maintain 60+FPS in Arma so it would be a pointless exercise (he did talk about it when the feature was first announced but that was in a video long forgotten)

    I just cant find those 2 story Sandbag-Bunkers ... they look like Arma 1 models or such. Can anyone help me out?

      Hey I know it's a late reply, but just in case you hadn't found out yet, those big 2 story bunkers are structures from the Community Upgrade Project, they are found in the 'empty' unit category. They are simply called 'depot'.

      +Dslyecxi: Regarding the pointing mod, I noticed that the marker fades in when you get within a scant few meters from the person who's pointing. If I would be permitted to give an opinion, I think it makes more sense for the circle to fade in at a greater distance, but have its size be relative to your distance. So, you could see a very faint circle at 10 or even 20 meters, but it would be much larger and indicate only a general direction; and the closer you move to the pointing person, the smaller and clearer it becomes.

      Only one the amount of players and enemy AI the server can handle. If the server could handle a 500v500 I'm sure it would be possible.
      Unsure of the count max for shacktac however, I know back in A2 they had 100+ missions but A2 is less intensive them A3

    I may be fucked up by wars I was in , but I feel very bad when I watch US or western troops , be decimated .EVEN IN A GAME .I never play any side against Blu . I know , I know ... can't help it !

      +plainlake - We never use designated marksmen, snipers, or magnified weapon optics.

      Shacktac very rearly uses optics if they do in the case of snipers they get a very small amount of ammunition. you cant get the tense action when you are staring into a x100000000000 magnification with thermals picking off the enemy 20 km away and not knowing where the shot came from. (i may have exaggerated a lot) a good video for you to watch is "what dyslexci thinks of snipers"

      +plainlake - The AI enemy generally does not have them either. It's intended to make for more interesting fights where you have closer-range combat happening. Arma doesn't do distant concealment very well, so magnified optics tend to be less interesting because they make it so much easier to take advantage of those issues.

      Adam Anderson - Arma 3 is a constraint, which is why we only rarely bring any new members in. Hopefully that will change in the future, but that's where we're at now. We get thousands of applicants each year - we accept a handful because of my goals on how big our community should be, as well as limitations like what Arma allows us to bring into a session.
