Plus, the excavations had been going on for a long time, for at least 10 years. It’s plausible that Mipha was chosen by Ruta very quickly and given her healing powers a bit before link came and visited for the first time when he was 6.
According to the king's diary, the divine beasts were discovered after Zelda was born, but before the queen died, which was when Zelda was 6. Mipha's diary says that they discovered Vah Ruta after she met Link when he was 4. So yeah, she was healing Link around 2 years BEFORE they discovered Vah Ruta. But she also commented that "it must have been [Link's] first time seeing healing magic", suggesting that healing magic was not unheard of among Zora. So she likely wasn't the only one who could do it.
@@jerotoro2021 Maybe magic is tied to the gods in that case? In the Tarry Town quest, you're told that the Zora are the most spiritual people around and are the most likely to have a priest. Sure enough, you find one. I wonder if that's another reason they chose to build their home with luminous stone, which are linked to spirits? (bit of a tangent)
Revali developed and eventually perfected his Revali's Gale on his own through training, before he even got to see his divine beast, as we see during the cutscene when Zelda goes to request he become a champion. Mipha has been able to heal ever since she was a child according to her conversation with Link atop Vah Ruta. Daruk is shown using Daruk's protection before he gets to see the divine beast, during the scene when Zelda requests that he become a champion, and his proficiency with it as well as their dialogue implies that it's an ability he's always had. And Urbosa is a badass. She definitely knew how to use Urbosa Fury all along and you'll never convince me otherwise
The only problem with the theory regarding this is the activation time. So lets alter it a bit since signs of ganon were clear this means that hes coming the game states ganon was sealed 10000 years ago so what if they activated because the sheikah tech detected movement of malice . . . or conversely theyre genetic and its merely coincidence that they unlucked it also knowing about the divine beast has nothing to do with being chosen i mean until link is wielded the master sword he had no idea he was the hero but he was the hero the whole time. Personally i believe that their genetic this is what would make the most since as they trained these abilities on there own it makes no since for them to claim it as they own if it just showed up one day. . .
Didn't Revali actually train himself to make Revali's Gale according to Champion's Ballad? (Where it's also shown that he named his ability like that by himself (and after himself because he's a narcissist))
Revali trained the ability into an updraft that could be ridden safely, the first gust he makes in that cutscene is too powerful and he thrown out of it.
No we see him using the gale. If someone actually developed it then how? No one can create updrafts from nowhere. Likely he attained this greater power like the rest of the champions did. They were a gift from the goddess Hylia!
@@MJ-vr8gg exactly we also see how the divine beast already had there powers before defeating the champion. Also they put the divine beast symbol because you simply remember them when you think of the divine beast.
One issue is that in the case of Revali's gale, Revali says "I have made an art of creating an updraft that allows me to soar". This implies that he trained himself to make it work, and the DLC cutscene shows that. He also says that it's "A masterpiece of aerial technics, even among the Rito". This implies that the ability was something that was well known about, but simply something that only the elite and well-trained flyers could be able to use properly. I doubt it would be talked about like that if it was something simply made by the Sheikah. Or on the other hand, maybe Revali is just being Revali and trying to act like he earned the ability though hard work and not destiny like Link. I think you would come to that conclusion knowing your feelings on Revali.
I think he definitely trained for it, but he could have also trained to hone this ability that he was gifted with. Let’s face it, it’s quite supernatural lol
@@BanditGames In the cutscene, Revali tells Link that very few can master the art alluding to that other Ritos maybe able to use it if they train hard enough like Revali. This also means that somehow Revali knew this skill was able to be learned in order to train. Revali also most likely named it after himself since no one at the time had mastered it, which still brings up the point of where did he learn that he was even capable of doing this. Then comes Yunobo, who I doubt trained in order to be able to use his skill. But that could be explained by him accidentally activating it as a defense mechanism sort of like when the moblins attacked him.
@@BanditGames Except for one other detail. Look at the cutscene again. He creates this ability (or discovers it within himself if you prefer) before he was even a champion. Thus he had no contact with Va Medoh prior to to this that has been shown.
two things: 1. i completely agree with you. i had the same thought process as you. 2. Ravioli isn't really a masochist, just someone who wants to be better than everyone else.
doctors heal without magical ability. She was just patching him up in the normal manner before she acquired her grace... also.. Ravioli is Ravioli.. he's egotistical so it's dubious that he would ever credit anybody besides himself.
@@ezmyrelda "patching him up in the normal manner" if i remember correctly, link (when he came for the first time) was only covered in bruises and bruises can't be healed by normal ways (bandages, ointments, etc.) and we see in the 2nd DLC a memory of Ravioli training to use it. now, dont go and say "its because he gained it was was training to control it." no, it was stated that the most highly trained rito in the past have been able to use it, if my memory serves me right. so the theory doesn't work for mipha or raviloli
@@ezmyrelda No, she clearly said that she healed him whenever he was reckless as a child, and there was blue light coming from her hand in the memory, so she was definitely using her healing powers, not any traditional methods.
@@sethfeldpausch4337 The blue light in the memory was the Mipha's Grace, yes, but that doesn't guarantee it was used in the past. Also I have no clue where on earth people are somehow hearing him suggest in the slightest that the powered were granted after they became champions, in fact in the video he was quite clear to say that it would be the opposite, that they were gifted the powers sometime prior to becoming champions, and it was because of these powers that they were then even sought out to become the champions, no where does he state a timeframe, and we know little about how long it was after the Divine Beasts were excavated and them finding champions to pilot them. From what I can gather years, as Zelda apparently was experimenting and researching some of the Sheika tech as a kid for at least what seems like a few years. And likely the tech had been excavated at least some while before that, putting the supposed event that could have granted the abilities (the digging up of the Divine Beasts awakening them from slumber) well before any scenes we see with the champions.
If we go off the "descendants or other people related genetically to the champions" theory in terms of Yunobo having the ability, would Sidon also be a potential holder in the future? Same with Riju, if they were trained properly?
Well idk about the healing factor but in AOC, Mipha can control water and Sidon can do the same. So I’m just guessing this is just an ability that comes naturally to Zora royalty. Riju can control lightning wearing the Thunder Helm but she’s not related to Urbosa so...yeah idk about her. 🤷🏾♂️
Idk about sidon. He is just mipha's brother and not always your sibling gets the same power as you. Riju, idk if she is a relative since idk if urbosa ever had children
Sidon isn't Mipha's descendent, he's her brother. I mean, I have a genetic disorder that my brother doesn't have, and I just say that Mipha's power was a mutation. A good one though.
@@marckid93 Riju is implied to come from the same family as Urbosa as both of them are Gerudo chiefs and are linked to the thunder helm. So its possible Riju is a descendant of a relation of Urbosa like a sister, aunt or cousin.
Holy crap i just realized botw is a dnd campaign with a ranger, a barbarian, a cleric, 2 fighters, and a sorcerer that experienced a tpk. Edit: so there are some people who are confused about what I mean. A TPK in Dungeons and Drangons means total party kill. In no particular order, the characters are: Zelda- Sorcerer Urbosa- Fighter Link- fighter Revali- Ranger Daruk- Barbarian Mipha- Cleric
From what I understood, Revali was the only one to develop his abilities all by himself, which explains his distaste for people who are simply just... chosen. The others were implied to have merely inherited or been given them.
I think it’s great there are still folks out there daily thinking about their favorite video games. I stopped doing that years ago. I dunno, it feels really nice. 🤗
The idea used to be that Links ability was the Flurry Rush/Bullet Time, but everyone can do that in AoC so.... either way he doesn't really need one, the Master Sword serves as an ability itself
@@ezmyrelda Agreed, I can't think of anything that fits Revali's character more than to be given some mysterious blessing and pass it off as innate ability, the fact he was chosen for such a blessing would also have likely increased his already large ego.
The theory about the Champion's corpses remembered me a fanart amazing that I saw once on Instagram. The art depicted the blights merged with the champion's remains. Very creep and amazing.

The ending sentence is interesting "And keep in mind, that most magic is just technology, that hasn't been explained yet." Never thought of breath of the wilds magic as unexplained technology ... more like unexplained technology to access magic. Technology is an attemped to utilise natural phenomena to ones benefits and magic is one of these phenomenon. So why should everything be created beforhand? Sure the old technology is quite advanced but the laws by which this is created shouldn't have changed, right? So it could be done again. I think the abilities of the four champions are born by desire, like classic magic comes from. It seems to me that most things in breath of the wild have to do with desire of the people and what they want. Daruk desired protection, Revali wants to stand at the top, Mipha wanted to help these she loves and Urbosa wants to strik down all her foes, regardless of where they stand and Zelda also unlocks her ability with desire. If you think about it, even malice is some form of desire. The triforce itself is described as something that fulfills any wish of these that touch it. Anyway, especially in Revalis case, his dairy depicts it as him creating the ability not just learning how to use it. Some more things. It's not like the abilities are named after the ones who "created" them but after the ones who gave them to link personally. Also a bit lackluster but the smybols of the abilitie orbs are porbably tied to game design so you as the player see where you got it. Especially when you mention the transfer. The orbs don't show any symbol like the ones of the monks. Of course any champion could be created by some sort of long forgotten process that would spread some predisposition inside the races and then construct machines so they react to a certain level of this exact abillity. Not to mention, reincarnation, souls and that the world of Zelda is contructed by sentient beings and so should follow some sort of tendency. The Question is how much free will do concede to the inhabitants of this world? And btw :) what about Links ability to focus really hard/stop time for himself? I believe even even daruk mentioned it in his journal "The little guy is also incredibly strong! He said sometimes when he focuses, it feels like time slows down." NintendoBlackCrisis mentioned it once before in an video th-cam.com/video/G8dcEcd88So/w-d-xo.html
The divine beasts are powered by the spirit/soul energy of the pilot's so it makes sense if there was some connection to their powers as well as the divine beasts. Masked bandit you are my favorite! Keep up the good work.
@@BanditGames Your incredible knowledge of this franchise makes you the most perfect Zelda theorist! I 100% enjoy you, NintendoBlackCrises, Zeltik, Monster Maze, Hyrule Gamer, Commonwealth Realm, and HMK. You guys are literally the best of the best. My friend, pls keep up the amazing work and I'd love to see another duo theory :D
Revali is the best Champion! He is skilled and praised, and while he is proud in public, as well as the refusal to allow someone to be better, yet he feels unworthy and he is constantly pushing himself harder, trying to prove himself. Also, the spirit orbs are not shiekah tech, but just a shred of someone's spirit to be housed in someone else's body. The powers are simply the shred of the respective champion's spirit that includes their power. Also, the icon having the divine beast is just an artistic choice because they are symbols to the player that they have beat that divine beast, similar to the icons on the loading screen. It also fits better with the art style of the tapestry, which the player (or at least I) associates with the great calamity. I do agree with your blight theory, in fact, I saw that theory almost a year ago from a small TH-cam asking how the champions were defeated as each of their respective powers would have almost ensured that at least one survived, and the answer they came to was that, when Ganon sent malice to the beasts, it enveloped the champions (and Daruk's protection didn't save him as malice attacks aren't effected by that) then took control of their bodies in the same way it controls the cursed skulls to take control of the divine beasts.
My problem with this theory is Mipha's diary as she was healing people long before Ruta was unearthed who has been living many years so this could disprove your theory but there are no dates to solidify anything.
In relation to Mipha, she had her powers, long before the Divine Beast were excavated. At some point Hylians came to Zora's domain along with a 4 year old Link. Mipha says in her diary that she healed Link's wounds with her magic. (For context, excevation for the Divine Beast started when Zelda was 7, since it is said that the fortune teller told the King that the Calamity was soon approaching and that the something would happen to the Queen). Mipha had her abilities long before Vah Ruta was found, she states that it was found before Link became the knight who welds the master sword (if this goes with my theory of time placement, this is after the Battle of Hyrule Field in AoC). She was asked to pilot Vah Ruta by Zelda sometime after that interaction with Link. Mipha's powers have been with her probably since birth and I think this is due to something found in the History of the Zora. Princess Ruto is a far descendent from the Royalty of the Zora, who's to say that she never had a kid, seeing as how Zora age less then Hylians and although it is implied she is 10 in the past and 17 in the future, it doesn't really match with what we know of the Zora in BoTW. From the quest: special delivery, what appears to be a Zora child is in a relationship with a Hylian man, but it is revealed that she is of age to be in a relationship. Perhaps every Champion is a descendent from a sage of long ago. We know that Darunia had a son that he named Link, and we don't know if Nabooru had any children. There are countless Sages who could have had passed on their divine powers, that later could've re-emerged in their descendents years later. As to the reason the Blight Ganons can use the Champion's powers is due to how they came to be. The Blights are a combination of malice, as well as Sheikah technology. After malice infected the Beasts, the Blights came into existence. Seeing as how the Champions and Divine Beast have some sort of connection, perhaps the Blights "download" data from the Divine as well as from the Champions. For instance Waterblight Ganon may have Mipha's spear, that's pretty much as far as the connection between them goes. When you get to the second stage of the battle, it causes the water level to rise using what appears to be magic. But throughout that second stage of the fight, it uses that same "magic" to create Sheikah ice blocks, much like the ones Link can make when using the Sheikah slate. Mipha hasn't been seen being able to make ice on her own, but Divine Beast Vah Ruta has. It is the whole gimmick before you even enter the Divine Beast. I believe that some of the Blights were able to copy the Champion's powers from data within the Divine Beast, while others were able to copy things the Divine Beast could do. We know that Vah Ruta can create ice and that Vah Naboris can create lighting, which is where those Blights get their abilities. We don't know if Vah Medoh can create winds and we don't know if Vah Rudania can create fire. I think that two of the Blights took things that the Champions can do (Fireblight and Windblight) while two others took things the Divine Beasts can do (Waterblight and Thunderblight)
Riju explained that only Gerudo chiefs can take full advantage of the thunder helm, and when Link uses it he's just inmune to thunder, but Riju can even extend the immunity by creating a forcefield. I think all Urbosa's lineage has the ability, it's just that it was stronger in Urbosa, or she just developed it more.
Here is a little tip In one of the dlc memories Daruke said that he was used his power to hide from dogs and Mipha said that she used to heal link as a child soo yea
I think the theory is pretty good! As a side note, I just wanna point out that it’s odd that the ghosts of the Champions appear whenever you use their abilities, plus each respective Champion’s voice announces when it is available again, regardless of where you are. This is noteworthy since you mentioned Daruk and Mipha talk as if they are unable to leave the Divine Beasts. I don’t really know what to make of that info, but I thought maybe it can get your wheels turning haha
You say this one was more speculation than theory but this video had way more actually compelling evidence than you usually have. You did a really good job with this one. Love your vids
Also, another thing to note would be the champions actually show up when you use their ability, so the ability might still be theirs, and merely borrowed. Maybe the divine beast AND link are the champion's tether now, because they can form around link, and the champions have the ability to affect the real world, whereas the king mentions how he is powerless in the real world. Also as an ending note, I saw ur video on the champions bodies and I noticed Revail saying, link defeated "him" instead of "it" or "that thing", like all the other champions do. I just thought that was interesting :)
Tuli is literally six and can do all kinds of champion stuff. in HW, she invents her dad's gale AGAIN. except it is called "Tuli's Tornado". how would that even work?
Theory: While these are only obtained in game through using the champion amibos, the divine beasts are actually controlled using the diving helms. They are bestowed to the champions after their selection. I still don’t know why Link can’t pilot the divine beasts after obtaining the helms though.
Its not just water blight who has a similar weapon to its cooresponding champion, fireblight has a big hunk of an ancient sword resembling his big hamma that i forgot the name of, thunder blight has a curved blade and shield and windblight dosen't have a physical weapon, it has cannons
How so? I've played the game, so spoil all you want. I think I missed that part tho? Was it because the Blights couldn't use the abilities because the Champions were still alive?
@@DarkBandicoot I think it’s because the blights still used the same powers. For example, the thunderblight still uses lightning in aoc. The way the blight fights is different from botw, but I think it’s because it’s a different game.
The issue with this is that the timeline for Mipha doesn’t make sense. If Link was healed when he was 4 but the divine beasts were discovered when Zelda was about 6. The only way that would work is if Link is 2 years younger than Zelda, which can’t be possible because he could go to Mt. Lanayru. Revali made his power, it wasn’t something he just HAD. The cutscenes and his diary basically throw it in your face.
Another interesting thing to note is that Age of Calamity confirmed that Riju is a direct descendent of Urbosa, but Riju doesn’t have Urbosa’s fury. She uses the power through the thunder helm. So perhaps in that case Urbosa’s fury is passed down through the Gerudo royal line, and the thunder helm.
Revali perfected the art on his own. He has trained so much not caring about his countless failures. He is a Rito of confidence, determination and sheer fucking will. I will not stand for him being called useless. His ability is very important and sometimes vital to the game. He's a narcissist because he knows he's good at what he does, and yes, he is.
6:00 I’ll have to disagree with that, because the champions are seen at the end of botw as spirits at the top of the castle, meaning that they can leave the divine beasts
Wait, if the champion spirits cannot step outside of the divine beast, why in thw last cutscene they are floating in hyrule castle with king rhoam? (Sorry for my bad grammar, im not english lol)
This makes so much sense, the figure in each hero's tunic is the thing that searches for a worthy warrior. Link's figure is the Master Sword, and for each champion is their Divine Beast. The beasts are like a master sword, so the abilities are also transfered to the next one in the cycle
Well in my point of view there is a problem with the theory because what mipha says that she used her healing powers when link was a kid and that was waaay before they knew of the divine Beasts exept that everything holds up very well
Mipha, Revali and Urbosa are shown to know them before they become pilots. But what if they were born with them because they were suposed to be pilots by destiný like Link is born to be the hero.
I just wanted to say that at first I was on the hate Revali boat, but now I respect him as he has a specific personality , wanting to be the best on top of link. I love how he still helps link, even if he is still considered second or third
“Most magic is just technology that hasn’t been explained yet” Uh... There is definitely divine intervention and magic at play for Zelda, the Master Sword, and the Great Fairies. Remember this is still a world that is sustained by the power of the Triforce that has sadly been almost completely forgotten by said world.
In the first cutscene with Mifa she reminds Link when he was a child he would always have scratches and bruises and she would always heal him with her powers, and how no matter how bad the wound she would always heal him and and at that time, when she was a child, she wasn’t connected with the divine beast Vah Ruta.
I think the gifts are tailored to the individual. Maybe a kinda destiny thing that lets them develop a unique power over time. Also remember that Mipha's grace isn't the same as her healing powers. Mipha's grace is used automatically upon what would be death, which is more akin to auto-life where her healing powers are more like cure (in Final Fantasy terms). afaik there are 4 "new" champions that help the champions fight in aoc, suggesting they are the successors. If you follow along the "destiny" idea, it pretty much explains it. However it doesn't explain the lack of powers in the others. Perhaps they needed more time to develop powers. *shrugs* just a theory tho. As a side mini-theory, perhaps after dark beast ganon was defeated, the disappearance of the champions spirits (theorized to be the divine beast's power source) caused the divine beast to stop working. Upon learning why ruto stopped, the shiekah tech was put into a dormant state until they better understand it, thus link and zelda go to the ruins under hyrule castle looking for answers.
Great video, as usual. As for why Yunobo can't control Daruk's divine beast, my thoughts are as follows 1. Daruk technically still has a link to it, even if only as a spirit. Perhaps the current champion of it has to relinquish control of it before someone else can take the reins? 2. Perhaps more than just mastering the required power is necessary? Yunobo is a coward when we first meet him, and after you beat that Divine Beast he seems to get a little more courageous and self-confident when you talk to him, iirc. Maybe that's a necessary component to piloting the beasts, strength of character? 3. He might not even know he could technically pilot it. Or if he does, whether he even wants to or considers himself worthy enough to try.
We know the powers themselves come from different sources, we see revali training himself to do revali's gale and it seems the first time he successfully did it without falling was when zelda came to recruit him, but this power is learnt unlike daruks protection, which is able to be passed down genetically which generally isn't how learnt skills work, this would also explain why riju doesn't have this power, the power itself is different, maybe learnt by urbosa during her youth? Though it would be great to see riju using urbosa's fury, loved the video btw!
Only one problem with this theory, Revali obtained revali's gale from intense training, it took him skill to get the abilities he didn't just get them from a divine beast
I think its a shikha tech that was given to the champions 10000 years ago and duplicated to some of the champions blood Line(if the champions genes were dominating than their partner's , then children would have the champions ability ).This also means that they had the champion ability before the earthing or excavation of the Devine beasts as in Mipha's memory she states that she would heal him as the same in Link's childhood meaning that she had the ability before the excavation of the Devine beasts. THANK YOU
If it was linked with the shiekah excavation, it wouldn't make sense that Mipha healed Link as a child, and Revali trained the ability himself. Daruk's is definitely some form of bloodline, and Urbosa is the one we have the least information on, aside from the helmet that calls upon Riju's ancestors that might also support Urbosa's ability being a bloodline as well. Interesting theory, but I don't think it holds up, sorry.
I agree with most of what you said, but in the DLC champions ballads, and the cutscene where Zelda asked revali to join the champions, he is practicing, not a power, he learned it
The reason the icons for the abilities shows the divine beasts is because of a gameplay connection, not a lore connection. The abilities are rewards for beating those dungeons, so they are marked as being connected to the dungeons. From what I remember of the story, Revali specifically states that he CREATED his ability through years of practice, rather than suddenly being bestowed a power. I think each power is unique not only in how it works, but how they were attained. I don't think there's any connection between them and the divine beasts. As for the spirit orb connection, well, it's right there in the name, spirit. That is a spiritual thing, not a technological thing. The monks have spent 10000 years meditating waiting for the hero, and grant him a portion of their own life force in the form of the spirit orbs, which in turn strengthen him. The champions as well offer a piece of their own souls to Link, in the form of their special abilities. In fact, Link doesn't even gain the abilities really. In each case whenever he uses one of them, the spirit of it's champion can be seen aiding him. So it makes more sense to say that a fragment of their own spirit resides inside of Link, and lends their power to him when he needs it.
7:25 good idea but there’s also the chance that they were named after the current champions because the original champions had different abilities, for example maybe the Ruta champion could control water. Maybe the divine beasts give them abilities based on personality.
Great theory! A lot of people seem to have ignored the end of the video where you mention the abilities may have been passed on by blood and had to be awoken.
You are forgetting that Revali clearly stated in his journal that he made the ability that he possesses. All you need to do for confirmation is look through his diary
Lorde. Just finished AoC. The story really kicked butt not gonna lie. Caught me completely. So many amazing cutscenes. So many hype moments. What an amazing game. This game is not a placeholder at ALL.
Honestly Revali's Gale is something that he had to work hard on to overcome the Rito's Reliance on natural Updrafts, and Teba is said to be working on recreating it and AoC does show he was successful, and the fact that both he has no real connection to Vah Medoh and Revali means the Gale may be an outlier
Revali had mentioned that the most powerful Rito warriors can control wind, so any of em could learn Revali’s Gale if well trained. Urbosa isn’t related to Riju so therefore no electric powers beyond her Thunder Helm. Other than that, the rest sound legit.
Which of the Champions' Powers can you ABSOLUTELY NOT live without?? For me it's 100% Revali's Gale... I realize how ironic that is.

Didn’t Mipha comment that she healed Links injures when he was a kid, as in before the beasts were unearthed?
Doctors heal without magical powers.. She was a healer before she got the gift.. it was just magically enhanced.
Just another day in russia
I think that’s because he’s just headstrong and braggedy
Teba does mention that he is training himself into mastering the Gale ability
@@BanditGames Except for one other detail. Look at the cutscene again. He creates this ability (or discovers it within himself if you prefer) before he was even a champion. Thus he had no contact with Va Medoh prior to to this that has been shown.

@@ezmyrelda
No, she clearly said that she healed him whenever he was reckless as a child, and there was blue light coming from her hand in the memory, so she was definitely using her healing powers, not any traditional methods.

Mipha is actually my least favourite

I think it's a build up to botw 2 when no ancient technology is around
@@margaretowens9161 Nice theory. But then where did the champions go?
The ending sentence is interesting
"And keep in mind, that most magic is just technology, that hasn't been explained yet."
Never thought of breath of the wilds magic as unexplained technology ... more like unexplained technology to access magic.
He said sometimes when he focuses, it feels like time slows down." NintendoBlackCrisis
mentioned it once before in an video th-cam.com/video/G8dcEcd88So/w-d-xo.html

When you said Zeldas Falco I laughed so hard lmao so accurate.

Riju explained that only Gerudo chiefs can take full advantage of the thunder helm, and when Link uses it he's just inmune to thunder, but Riju can even extend the immunity by creating a forcefield. Sadly Mipha comments on healing link when they were young, most likely BEFORE they were excavated.

Mipha should’ve used mipha’s grace because she wouldn’t die lol.
I think she died twice
It is official that Zelda chose the pilots of the divine beasts BECAUSE of their unique abilities.

Mipha said that she would heal Link’s wounds when he was a child long before the tragedy.
Yes. The divine beasts were probably dug up then.
Theory: While these are only obtained in game through using the champion amibos, the divine beasts are actually controlled using the diving helms. They are bestowed to the champions after their selection. I still don’t know why Link can’t pilot the divine beasts after obtaining the helms though.

Age of Calamity absolutely disproves the blights getting their powers from the champions
The one problem with this theory is that: Revali had to train to get his ability
In age of calamity, in some of Riju's attacks, she uses urbosa's fury.
true
answer: m a g i c a n d p l o t
Another interesting thing to note is that Age of Calamity confirmed that Riju is a direct descendent of Urbosa, but Riju doesn’t have Urbosa’s fury. She uses the power through the thunder helm. So perhaps in that case Urbosa’s fury is passed down through the Gerudo royal line, and the thunder helm.
Can you do some Age of calamity theories.
Absolutely! The game’s still pretty fresh though, so I’m giving it a bit :)

This makes so much sense, the figure in each hero's tunic is the thing that searches for a worthy warrior. Link's figure is the Master Sword, and for each champion is their Divine Beast. The beasts are like a master sword, so the abilities are also transfered to the next one in the cycle
Ah yes, my favorite character - Zelda Falco
Well in my point of view there is a problem with the theory because what mipha says that she used her healing powers when link was a kid and that was waaay before they knew of the divine Beasts exept that everything holds up very well
I think that the abilities are magical genetic mutations only in them and their descendants and it reveals itself when they are a certain age
A theory I have is how did the sheikah know they were going to fail
Mipha, Revali and Urbosa are shown to know them before they become pilots. But what if they were born with them because they were suposed to be pilots by destiný like Link is born to be the hero.
I just wanted to say that at first I was on the hate Revali boat, but now I respect him as he has a specific personality , wanting to be the best on top of link. I love how he still helps link, even if he is still considered second or third
Thankfully the final trailer for Totk Shows that Riju has Urbosas fury
It's worth mentioning that the Champion's ability are based on Zelda 2's magic. In AOL you recibe "Jump, Shield, Thunder and Life" as magic abilities
Great video, as usual.
As for why Yunobo can't control Daruk's divine beast, my thoughts are as follows
THANK YOU
Honestly I just like the idea that they were born with it, too me it makes em so much more special, also ig Yunobo is just living proof
I agree with most of what you said, but in the DLC champions ballads, and the cutscene where Zelda asked revali to join the champions, he is practicing, not a power, he learned it
This is Zelda Vsauce and I love it.
The Ganon blights were the original champions. That’s why they can use the abilities.

What did you say?
I WILL fight you.
3:05 yet every single time there’s a guy that seals the darkness with the master sword...

I think the quote you were going for at the end there is "Every sufficiently advantanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" :> But yes
