- Princess Mipha of the Zora people from Breath of the Wild has always been one of my favorite Zelda characters of all time-- and when I was going back over her appearances in the game's memories, I noticed something that could have made a drastic impact to Hyrule and the world of Breath of the Wild as we know it. It's possible, but it's also possible that she would've tried that out as well so it's hard to say really. But maybe the way she unlocked it is the right way to do it
@@ibezach1604 I feel that her power really only could have been unlocked that way, when her spirit itself was calling to protect her knight. There just wouldn't have been enough urgency or drama at that very moment to inspire such a huge emotional swelling that triggered her powers, much like how Goku couldn't go Super Saiyan until his friend was actually killed in front of him.
Agreed. Her feelings were complicated and she couldn't have stepped into her role just from hearing about it. Especially not from her competing love interest, in front of all their friends.

If Zelda and Link hurried and immediately arrived at Ganon's doorstep, there's a chance the champions would be alive.. as the Blight Ganons would be called back to support Calamity in fighting Link.. just like in the game when you face Ganon without saving the divine beasts.

Ganon was not stupid. From a strategic standpoint it would be smarter to take care of the devine beasts first before caling them back.
In the present the blights had nothing else to do but in the past its the decision between having them help fight Link and Zelda while they get backed up by the devine beasts ore having the devine beasts taken out of the picture but in return having the blights not help in the fight with Link and Zelda. I think option 2 makes more sense especially becuse there is the posebillty of them joining the fight against Link and Zelda after they killed the champions.
@@sofaris576 maybe the blights would corrupt the beasts before going to fight link. this would mean that the champions would be left alive (hopefully) but it would leave them unable to work the things without reactivating the terminals. you know, prioritising threats and all that
@@sofaris576 Actually, if he did that first, calamity ganon wouldnt be able to wait to appear after the divine beasts, meaning link would still be able to fight ganon. Also the battle in aoc (before they were rescued) they do seem to have survived for long enough, Link and Zelda if together could likely defeat calamity ganon before all the champions would be defeated, especially daruk who likely held out for a while. By the time they would be done, they wouldnt easily fit in the chamber or whatever. However it is hard to know if it wouldve worked, but it would likely be bad for both ganon and Link/Zelda if the blights appeared during the fight

Compassion is the key that open the door to Zelda's powers. Her father accidentally taught her cruelty, the same cruelty she would pour out on an innocent Link. However, after Link saved Zelda from certain death, the darkness within her heart began to fade and love began to grow. But not fast enough. Not fast enough to save the kingdom. Not fast enough to save her friends. And almost not fast enough to save Link. Only when she was about to lose everything did Zelda fully reach out in compassion. And the door was opened.
I don't know if I would consider King Rhoam to be a cruel man. He was forced to make a very difficult decision to be a father and the King of Hyrule. He couldn't nurture Zelda forever, like how her mother did. Ganon was waking up, and time was running out.
She was supposed to fulfill her destiny and awaken her hidden powers to stop Calamity Ganon. Zelda would eventually learn to stop running from her fate and discover the power within her, as hard as it was for her to do. King Rhoam himself admits that he wishes things could be different and always seemed to have a conflicted tone in his voice whenever he confronted his daughter. The passing of his wife must have also been extremely hard on Rhoam too, and would make sure to do everything in his power to not lose Zelda too.
He was not cruel ingame. Harsher against zelda, perhaps... but not anywhere close to being a cruel person or doing a cruel action.
@@Kruegernator123 I wouldn't consider him cruel, but I would consider him a cold man and a terrible father. Just look Mipha and Zelda's upbringing. While she may not have had the entire "Save the world" destiny that Zelda does, that doesn't detract from her abilities. She is widely regarded as an exceptionally skilled warrior with a spear, is said to have had the easiest time piloting the divine beasts of *all* of the champions, and then there is her healing ability. The major difference between the two is their relationship with their fathers. Dorephan is an openly caring and supportive father who clearly thought highly of his daughter and her abilities, supporting her decision despite later regretting it due to her death.
Contrast that to Rhoam's entire demeanor towards Zelda, which is the exact opposite. He may not have been cruel, but what he was isn't any better. Incompetent due to his inability to consider other options, cold, and in general, just a terrible father.
"He couldn't nurture Zelda forever, like how her mother did. " Hard disagree. You don't need to be cold and a general ass to push someone in the right direction. If he had approached the situation from a more understanding and considerate position, rather than his position of "I'm right, you're wrong, stop playing with these toys and do as I say." I wager he would have had a far more positive result.
I would go as far as saying his entire approach to Zelda was the direct cause to why it took so long in the first place.

He was the one king in a long line that went back to at least 10,000 years ago that had to face an evil that, until the prophecy was given, was probably only talked about in myths and legends. He needed to amass an army of machines that were so technically advanced but so ancient that their secrets were lost and had to be rediscovered. He had to give orders to destroy cliff faces and parts of his kingdom to find the divine beasts. Most of all, he needed the princess and the knight told of in the prophecy. The knight he chose was loyal and determined and ready, having already found the Master Sword. But the princess, the real key to beating the calamity that rested on his shoulders as the king, his own daughter, was so engrossed in the discovery, the technical prowess of the ancient shiekah and, in his own eyes, so dismissive of her role, to unlock her dormant light powers, which every woman in her line possessed in some capacity. As a father, of course he felt the weight of his own personal failings with his daughter. On top of the stress of the entire kingdom and seeing Zelda as being ignorant of her role in it, he also knew that he was pushing her away from him, that he had no real advice to offer her. He knew her mother would have been more patient with her, say the right words, take the right actions in order to unlock Zelda's powers, but she was gone. This king, this widower and single parent, had the weight of the world on him. He deeply regretted his lack of compassion for Zelda's own perspective in all this. Deep down he knew she was trying her best, that something just wasn't clicking. He knew that without her, the progress on researching the shiekah slate, shrines, guardians and divine beasts would have been slower going, that she was still an asset to the preparation efforts. That regret is surely the reason his spirit lingered on. The only way he could make up for the emotional damage he had brought on his daughter, was to show Link the way. To guide him to the place where Ganon waited, to save Zelda. You could hear the bittersweet pride in his voice when telling Link that she had kept Ganon at bay for 100 years. And as a last thought, in defense of Rhoam, we know he listened to Zelda and respected her efforts to at least some capacity. When meeting him outside of the first shrine we enter in order to win his paraglider, he tells us a new use of the shiekah slate we've yet to try, making us able to warp to any shrine, tower or beast. When we ask him how he knows about the slate, he brushes it off as rumors he heard long ago. But he learned it from Zelda, his daughter. He listened to her excited ramblings about the slate and the technological advancement of the ancient shiekah. He loved his daughter. But he needed her to be ready. And she wasn't. And King Rhoam feared for his kingdom, for his people, for the other races of Hyrule, for his daughter, for himself and for the world.
Man I wish you would make Zelda videos. I’d watch someone explain what you’re talking about further, for sure. Somehow I missed much of these details.
People say love is the most powerful energy in the world. Zelda's love for Link helps her gain an explosive amount of power (though she doesn't realize that) Mipha's amazing healing powers are made stronger when she meditates on her love for Link. Love makes people do crazy things, awakens a part of them that was previously hidden.
That being said... What if those people are wrong? What if Link is the most powerful energy in the world, but we confuse it for love? Link is the common denominator in all of this.

Y'all joke, buuuuuuut... Those two aren't mutually exclusive. Ganon bears the triforce of Power, Zelda bears Wisdom, Link bears Courage. If Power represents the ability to do and Wisdom the knowledge of what/how to do, then Courage is the will to do. Link is what drives both Zelda and Mipha to bring to bear their very best. Just as Ganon can share his power and Zelda can teach her wisdom, surely Link too can inspire with his courage.

@Enzo Ian R. Evangelista it's an alternate prequel it follows the same story' but one moment (which is eggo appearing in battle of hyrule field) diverge it entirely out of the botw timeline making a new timeline where the Champions are appointed early and they know when the calamity will happen
And if you talk to her father, the king, after securing Vah Ruta then he says and I quote "she really did love you, you know."
I think that, not only was Mipha about to give Zelda the answer to unlocking her power, but that Calamity Ganon had returned at that moment *just* to cut her off before she finished. Ironically, these events led to her power unlocking anyway. So it was either wait and have her power unlocked...or return and risk her unlocking that power.
In other words, Mipha accidentally sealed Ganon's fate just by attempting to be helpful to Zelda.

I blame King Rhoam for pressuring her to unlock her power. He pestered her everytime he saw her rather than letting her breathe and collect her thoughts and explore herself as a person. Ever since she was a child she was told what she was to become and what she was supposed to think and act like. I think that personally if the King wasnt so strict then zelda would have been able to unlock her powers on her own.
And he realizes this which is why he's so remorseful at the start of the game.

That's a thoughtless way of looking at it. Not only do her powers have nothing to do with anything like "finding yourself" or any other angsty teenage nonsense like that, but she had duties and responsibilities to uphold and things she had to learn. And " Ever since she was a child she was told what she was to become and what she was supposed to think and act like" is called "duty". Just because you imagine it would make you feel bad doesn't mean it is bad. Feelings and morals are not related.
You should make a video on where the paraglider came from. As in how did the King’s spirit get it and how comes Link didn’t have it before.

@@chrispork1443 the rito probably sold them to hylians for a meaty price and that's why the king has one and when the calamity happened they couldn't get their materials as easily, so they stopped selling them

I was always pretty sure it wasn't just "love" that was required to unlock Zelda's powers, but the willingness to sacrifice herself on behalf of someone else. So, an extreme love, even if just a friendship devotion love. Mipha clearly feels this way when healing, and I would assume she would heal anybody she cared for, it just happens that she can probably heal Link's crazy injuries super well due to loving him so much. I have no doubt that Mipha would jump in front of Link to save him, which is what Zelda ended up doing. So... It takes compassion, resolve, caring for someone more than yourself. Zelda definitely had so many mental health struggles while growing up, it was clearly difficult for her to love herself. So, I wasn't surprised when it took forever for her to stop criticising herself and abilities and just act on compassion. BotW Zelda is probably the most relatable Princess Zelda we've had, at least to me. She's my favorite version, tied with Skyward Sword Zelda.

Does it bother anyone else that, even in the cutscenes, Mipha's fins on her head that sort of serve as her hair always clip through her shoulders / armor? Its just a tiny pet peeve of mine.

Mipha could have also been thinking about her people and family every time she uses Mipha’s Grace, not just her love interest in Link. Zelda kept her feelings mostly bottled up to keep up the image of a strong princess in the eyes of her people and father, and although she does open up to Link and becomes smitten with him, it is likely that due to their differences in class (Zelda being royalty and Link being a commoner, and the possibility that such a pairing would’ve been frowned upon back then if the court poet’s jealousy is any proof) she never admitted it to even herself. Not to mention Mipha was beloved unanimously by all of the Zora while the Hylians began to loose faith in their princess every day that passed without her unlocking her powers, and the king became more impatient and desperate because of his duty to protect the kingdom, and Link was most likely the only Hylian besides her late mother that offered her emotional support.

I don't think Link was a commoner by any means, at least not in Breath of the Wild.
In real life, knighthood has been considered a form of lower nobility since the High Middle Ages up until its decline in the 16th century. In game, Link was born into hereditary knighthood like his father before him. Link would obviously be at the highest ranking a Hyrulean knight could possibly achieve, being both a Champion and Zelda's personal knight.

Royal Guards are knights sworn to defend the royal family, and in Hyrule, becoming a knight has nothing to do with class; a common citizen can rise to knighthood if they’re skilled enough, as in Link’s case. Some noble families may have men and women with knighthood ranks, but they likely lived in Central Hyrule, such as Hyrule Castle Town. Link is largely implied to have originally been from Hateno Village, a humble town near the east coast of Hyrule, and everyone encountered there in the present are humble farmers or other working class commoners.
Kass, when telling Link of his teacher’s jealousy towards him for winning the affections of Princess Zelda, says this, “He fumed that the knight (Link) was neither nobility nor royalty himself.” Creating a Champion also states Link is not nobility. Hyrule functions differently in its class system compared to real life medieval cultures.
The Zora Armor (the chestpiece) says
“Painstakingly crafted by each Zora generation’s princess for their future husband”
And interestingly enough it was made my MIPHA and it fits Link PERFECTLY
It is implied very obviously she loved link, as almost everyone who watched the video would know, Sidon use s that evidence to have a reason to give the chest piece in the first place.

Memories I’d like to see would be the last stand of the four Champions against their Blights, and the siege of Akkala Citadel with the knights of Hyrule, that’d be badass as hell
Breath of the Wild really had a lot of untapped story potential. You don't actually get to see most of the events happen, only the aftermath.

i’m sure they’ll show the actual champions fighting in botw2, and considering how dark that game looks already, it may even show their deaths

I'd think that likely Mipha's statement might not have worked to aid, might've lead Zelda down thoughts of "what are my feelings for Link?" & that might've lead to bad times by keeping her second guessing everything.
Xel Unknown Depends on if Mipha outright says Link or “someone you deeply care about”. I’m guessing she wouldn’t have name dropped Link due to her being so shy.

This theory assumes Zelda could have been honest with herself about her feelings for Link. In the canon events she (as the saying goes) didn’t know what she had until it was gone. He was dying in her arms before she awoke to her own heart. I’m not sure Mipha’s words alone would have been enough to push her to that point.
The reason he fell there was that his shield broke obviously. He clearly went through his inventory deflecting all thoses blasts and when Link requested Zelda to bring a larger backup cache of pot lids, she couldn't because she only found 2 korok seeds at that point :)

The champions (except Link) were dying regardless, because Zelda didn't know Ganon took control of the divine beasts. Only Link and Zelda would have remained. So then it's solved, although sad.
Augustus' Legs we know the champions held fought back for who knows how love against Ganons blights. I wouldn’t be surprised is some of them would have been able to last long enough for Link or Zelda to hear their cry for help. With the army’s of Hyrule already retreating from the guardian threat I wouldn’t be surprised if zelda would have sent quite a few guards to assist the champions as soon as she could.
BUT THEN THE QUESTION IS: DOES LINK EVEN LIKE ANYONE?

Is post-slumber Link at the height of his power, though? Right before the Dark Beast Ganon fight, Zelda specifically says he may not have recovered his power.
"may" is an important word. This game is set to let the player choose his course, if someone decide to go right at Ganon at the first second, he may (and definitely isn't) at his full potential, but someone who would go through everything still "may" not be at his full potential, but he still maybe is
He only carried a sword before the calamity, so he may have been weaker because he didn’t have a shield or a bow with him.

Timmy nah.Before slumber link was much more powerful.They’re we supposed to be thousands of guardians and if you think about it that mean link killed a lot of them with his master sword.Also post slumber link hadn’t fully discovered his power of slowing time.Also the fully upgraded masters sword that link had before slumber could shoot very powerful beams so he wouldn’t have really needed a bow.
Well if link pulls out the mastersword then he is just as strong as before. The great deku tree said that if he was to pursue the sword in any weakened state he would die. So if you dont have the master sword Zelda is correct

Actually the back story sounds like it would make an awesome game, gathering all the resources to build all the guardians and divine beasts, helping the original champions to pilot the beasts, fighting through all the monsters hordes to get to Ganon who is being overwhelmed by countless guardians. It sounds epic. Then the post game could be Link helping build all the shrines and locking all the monks in stasis to slowly turn into mummies over 10,000 years
yea the only problem with this though is that she wouldn't have been able to actually get close enough to use the power because there were hundreds of gaurdiens against everyone and also, LINK AND ZELDA WERE RUNNING THE WRONG WAY!!!!

Calamity Ganon: *I'm gonna end this Zora's whole career.*
In the Japanese version, it's the desire to protect. It's very clear when translated more accurately and even Zelda says it in aoc "I must protect everyone" or something like that.
Mipha could have told her years ago. Also, I remember someone in the game saying Link and Zelda failed to best Ganon which is why we have that cutscene of them running away and then Zelda breaking down realizing she lost everything. Also, I think Link was pretty powerful 100 years ago. Look at that scene either all the dead monsters. Lynels were there too. Tbh I wouldn't be able to fight more that maybe two walking guardians at once. He took out a lot before exhaustion set in.
That's exactly what I was thinking too. Why would Link and Zelda have been running if they hadn't already tried? They wouldn't. It's not in them to just give up, especially with so many lives at stake.
Ofc Link and Zelda failed to beat Ganon. Zelda hadn't unlocked her sealing power yet so Link was trying to get her to safety. This was also after they found out the divine beasts were taken over by Ganon so they knew Link stood no chance alone against Ganon and the Guardian Army so they tried fleeing
If Zelda unlocked her powers before Ganon awoke, they probably could've gone to the castle. Or maybe they would've headed to the divine beasts first and saved the champions before they were critically injured
@@fantasan8540 I'm curious why you think Zelda's sealing power would have affected the outcome of a battle Link has had over and over since the beginning of Hyrule? First of all, she uses it after Link defeats him. Second, how often is Zelda there during that battle with Ganon? Its certainly NOT EVERY TIME. So in your mind, why is her her sealing magic the only way Link can beat Ganon in combat?
@@fantasan8540 Also, when I said they failed to beat Ganon, I meant they actually tried. It was implied in the game they went to the castle and attempted to fight ganon. How you are addressing it is they never even tried because Zelda didn't have her powers. Zelda as Tetra in Wind Waker didnt have sealing power but they still fought him and won. Zelda in twilight princess didnt either yet Link still fought him and won.
@@tsemiu I think the video had a good point about Link not having broad combat experience with many weapons. For one thing, we never see him with a bow in the cutscenes. He also lacks the Sheika slate. The Link of 100 years ago was powerful, but he wasn't as versatile a warrior as he would become during the game.
Also, while the hero has defeated Ganon countless times, each victory has had different contributing factors. I think it would be fair to say that BotW is the time when he needed the help of the princess just as the hero of 10000 years before needed the princess, the guardians, and the champions.
I'd say this one's all but confirmed. Once the game finally comes out; I'm betting that there'll be a couple dozen fanfics/fan comics featuring how BotW2 would have gone if Mipha had finished her thought here and Zelda had stopped the Calamity before Hyrule was overrun and the Champions killed.
yeah but the thing is, even if she did awaken her powers, she wouldn't be within Range to use them. everyone died before she arrived at Hyrule so... yeah, unless everyone knew wind bombing I don't think it would have worked... I mean maybe she could have helped Link... assuming he could survive 9th level AOE Smite on full HP
I doubt it would have helped, if i remember correctly, Zelda didnt like Link, she thought he was weak and she simply did not understand how it was possible that the master sword choose him.
It took Link almost dying fighting off many guardians for her to overcome that notion and see that he was worthy and realize her true feelings for him.
If Mipha were to say "It helps when i think about the person i love", Zelda would have probably go "But im not in love with anyone".

In Kass’s last song it literally says that Zelda only had eyes for her escort, her very own appointed knight, Link
Zelda liked link the second he saved her from the yiga by the Kara Kara bazaar and her affection for him only grew from there
That was at first, not because she really didn't like him but because of the pain and frustration that she felt with her powers not awakening and Link being a living reminder of her failures, she was aware of her bad behaviour towards him and felt guilty, it all changed with him still saving her for the Yiga despite her attitude without a though for his own life and Zelda's attitude and thoughts on Link changed completely, all of this and Zelda's feelings are explained in her diary and even shown in the memories, she did love Link, and Kass's song makes it clear that she loved him, and before that talking about his master and the song he says that his master was in love with the princess, but that the princess only had eyes for her appointed knight, and that this made him blind with jealousy, that he thought that the knight wasn't up to it, but that his sacrifice for her changed that
That was revali who didn’t like link. Not Zelda.
Turns out, ALL the Champions' abilities are powered by thinking about their love for Link. Ravioli was such a tsundere.
Imagine if Link and Zelda DID successfully take Calamity Ganon on... even defeating him by the time the Champion’s arrived at their Divine Beasts... saving much of Castle Town and Zelda’s father...
But then, comes 4 separate calls for help (as indicated by the SOS’s in each of the Divine Beast background songs). The Champions are still alive as of the moment Zelda and Link defeat Calamity Ganon himself... but the remaining 4 Blights continue to fight the Champions. This forces Zelda and Link to have to choose: who do they rush to save? Do they split up, trying to have one of each of them go to two of the four? Do they send soldiers to the other locations? Or are too many already injured to be able to help?
Even if they succeeded in defeating Calamity Ganon quickly... what if they had to choose who to save? Who would feel guilt at having been rescued, forcing their fellow Champions to fight on without aid?
It’s almost more of a sad story for me to consider one or two surviving and the others dying, regardless of which were the two who lived.
If, assuming they had some ability to communicate using the Divine Beasts to have some kind of voice call, I imagine the Champions trying to hide from the Blights as they are being hunted... and certain Champions insisting others be saved. For example, I believe Revali would insist he could still win in spite of the new development and urge Link and Zelda to save others. I believe almost everyone would want Mipha to be saved, though I also don’t know what Mipha’s reaction to that would be, nor if Urbosa and Daruk would accept aid before it was already becoming too late. It’s almost more tragic to imagine them frantically arguing about who should be saved (all of them insisting at first that they don’t deserve the aid, that someone else should receive Link and Zelda’s help) than for all of them to silently die off camera. Especially if everyone heard the death cries and apologies of one of the others, before Link and Zelda can arrive.
This isn’t a scenario I’m going to forget any time soon...
But when Ganon gets defeated, the Blights will dissapear, I supose, so if Zelda and Link defeated Ganon in time, none of the Champions would die. (I'm sorry if my English is bad, it's not my native language)

who to go for in what order: split up and each go for different champions. send Link to get Mipha and Zelda to help Rvali. the reason for this order is because they would need Ravali to scale Vah Naboris and they would need Mipha in case anyone did end up getting killed and needed to be revived. the reason for sending Zelda to get Ravali is because... well Link would have a much harder time getting elevation compared to Zelda who can just *MAGIC* up to her destination. then go for Duruk and Urbosa (Duruk is probably the best for combat while being unequip.) and if they do die, quickly get Mipha to revive them. can anyone else think of a better order?
@@liamdalemon1525 Daruk due too durability can hold out the longest. Urbosa is the most screwed because Thunderblight is really fucking scary.
I'd have Zelda go help Urbosa, because goddess light can probably oneshot the blight once she's close enough. Link goes to save Mipha, as she can heal and is less able to avoid attacks than Revali due to the cramped interiors of Vah Ruta. Then Link and Mipha go save/heal Revali, while Zelda and Urbosa go to Daruk.
As Mipha can summon water spouts I think she can get herself and Link to Vah Medoh.
I have always loved Revali because of his character depth. I can make any character my fave if they have a lot of depth. Mipha makes my second fave because she sorta strikes me as the really nice and wise character. I LOVED her cutscene in the champions ballad.
Its dumb how people say they ruined him in aoc due to not having his character development… But his development was in his thoughts… Theres no reason you would see it. But it's kinda odd to imagine how many allies they couldve had if they followed the events closer to aoc (Astor for sure still existed in botw, we just dont see him, he was the one manipulating the Yiga, if the Yiga actually were smarter and realised that helping Ganon would get them killed, they would turn on Ganon (Aoc does that due to Kohga surviving, he likely died in the canon timeline) Rhoam couldve been saved, if Zelda collected the guardian relic (Ancient shield, which doesnt happen in the canon timeline, but likely couldve. Not like Terrako had anything from Robbies research with it, since it was in Zelda's room the entire time) Even then they might not have been able to beat Ganon, but if those things happened it could be easier, most other things in aoc that helped however, was directly due to Terrako and couldnt have been replicated

I personally don't think Zelda actually knew the extent of her love for Link until he was nearly dying. So while she may have known the answer she might have not been able to use it cause she wasn't aware of her love.

6:50 defeating ganon in a set time limit to prevent the deaths of the champions sounds like a fun speed run challenge to unlock the true ending.
Actually, if they got there fast enough, the blights would have two choices, go there immediately to fight link and zelda (leaving alone the champions likely letting them move the beast to the castle and shoot down the blights and calamity ganon to lower health) Or have defeated the champions in which calamity ganon wouldve awakened nåand there prob wouldnt be space for the blights to efficiently fight. So basically they would be screwed

This is a really good one! I rewatched all the memories and champion's ballads just to make sure, and at the time that Mipha's saying that there isn't any indication that Zelda has feelings for Link at all. I don't think she did. My thought is that she didn't have feelings for him until that moment that she realized Link would literally risk everything he had to protect her. Even if Mipha did finish her advice, even though she was absolutely right, it would've fallen on deaf ears.

@@kendal0605 The problem then becomes about the word love. As in, the word itself. Is love in Mipha's context what that means, or is the song and the legend from which the song is inspired from, trying to create a symbolic context behind it, like loyalty or courage?
@@chaoscontroller316 I agree, love can mean different things. Obviously Mipha loves her family and all of Zora's domain, but that's not a romantic love. Maybe it's friendly love, since after Zelda stopped being angry towards Link she was able to confide in him, and it's the love of a good friendship. With Mipha it's obvious she loves Link romantically, but not so much for Zelda. And it seems like something game developers would do as a plot twist, like it turns out it was just her love of friendship, and the fact that Link could save Hyrule, that helped Zelda's power awake. Honestly, who knows if Link will ever end up with anyone, I definently feel like Botw2 is going to be a crazy-awesome experience and will answer many questions.

I feel like Breath of the Wild shouldn't really have romance. Love interests? Sure. But the whole point of the Zelda franchise isn't about love, romantic I mean (and excluding Mipha). That would make it like so many others, and plus, not everybody likes the couples they put together.
But, if forced to choose, I'd say Mipha is the best option. Because they have a past together, and, it wouldn't be the "hero falls in love with the damsel in distress" trope that ZeLink would be. Zelda doesn't need to be with anyone anyways (along with Link). And it would be refreshing to see a main female protagonist that doesn't get with the main male protagonist.

Mipha would never put Link on the spot like that, considering she barely likes being on the spot like that herself. If anything, it would be Revali who reveals his lack of ability to give a damn about privacy if it means challenging Link and his courage.

I actually see this playing out a lot worse. The truth is, when it comes to things like love, being able to say the words isn't the same thing as being able to live your feelings. Imagine that same scene playing out, only before everything goes to hell, she fruitlessly acknowledges her crush. She's so embarrassed and demoralized that she throws herself onto the weapon of the first bokoblin she sees.

My personal favourite character in botw, who isn't a champion or main character, is a Zora dude named Fronk

She would probably have said "When I think about the person I care deeply about/love, Zelda still would have probably thought about it and awakened her powers because of her love for Link, maybe trying to awaken her powes with Link close to her, with him by her side offering her support and helping her would probably have awakened her powers, maybe a contact like holding hands would probably have helped a lot and awakened her powers

You're forgetting about how a young girl who's unsure of her feelings can act when a love triangle forms.
My theory is that Zelda would never have unlocked her power if Mipha was given the time to finish. Zelda would be too embarrassed/angry/jealous to have the will or focus to finally unlock her power in time.
Imagine if everything went exactly the same until the moment she actually succeeds. What if, during the moment the guardians were targeting Link, she thought about Mipha for even a brief moment? I think she would have taken a few seconds longer to fully realize what came over her, wasting the precious time needed to save Link, and subsequently all of Hyrule.
HOWEVER, she is also very disciplined and it's possible that she would be able to resist the thought perfectly, so then either nothing would change at all or she would have unlocked it sooner.
