I’m going to provide my own take on his personality and psychology here: I, for one, love how he’s implied to be great with kids, based on this AoC DLC, and I also read “Creating a Champion.” It stated that he later on opened the flight range for a practice space to little kids. He seems to have a soft spot for them. Also, he’s portrayed to have no friends or family, thus having no real motivation besides being the very best. Urbosa was surrounded by the support of her people and had very close friends, Daruk had close friends as well who supported him every step of the way, and Mipha had the love and support of her family to help her through. Revali may have been envious of this, the fact that they had what he needed (without knowing it) the entire time. He’s very lonely. Not to mention, they had not nearly as much trouble developing their powers as he did. He was portrayed to have trained harder than anyone helse. Despite this, not nearly as many people knew his name, not nearly as many people liked him as much as the others. Link was the main part of this quest, only because a magic sword had chosen his destiny. In a sense, he has a few similarities to the princess. Both are a little lonely, both have trouble being themselves, both had trouble developing and unlocking their powers, both feel negative emotions when comparing themselves to Link, and so on, and so on. I’d like to see them become a pair at some point (just as friends, perhaps.), I wonder how that would go. Back to the “kids” thing: Revali is the only grown Rito with those two spots on his cheeks, symbolizing his youthfulness. This is supported by the fact that so far, only very young Rito have these spots. He seems very fond of children. It’s cute :)
Totally agree with everything you said. Never thought I could like Revali even more, but here we are folks. I think maybe a reason why he's so kind to kids is because of a rough childhood--or lack thereof, perhaps
I disagree slightly. While this made me change my thoughts on him, I still prefer the other champions. I do like revali more now, but he’s just not my favorite. I see where you’re coming from though.
Teba and Revali are definitely the best AoE fighters in this game. Revali especially. Once you get him really strong it is easy to mow through hundreds of enemies from a safe distance with his air attacks. I put all air attack up enhancements on his and teba's bow and they are unstoppable
