nice work. they can be a pain those float pins. I have been using a spring loaded centre punch backed off to its weakest setting, but even then its a bit scary, break off one of those float posts and I don't think even JB Weld will help.
It can be done, provided you're very steady and accurate.. I replace the post, minus the pin of course and drill through the tip of the post to receive a short wire pin, just long enough to be below the the float pin hole. Bond together with JB Weld and mock up the float bowl with the carburetor with the screws to dry over night.
Side clip pliers are the best way to remove pins. Just carefully grip the head and carefully turn.. Never hit the pin, no matter how careful you are, they are far too delicate and asking for trouble.
