Hello sir, saw your hitch is not OEM. Im installing a ECO HITCH and planning to buy a EquipD after. any problem with the hitch insertion? is it tight? wobble? do i have to consider any accessories like hitch extender?
How did you lock the security pin? No room on my Y.

How easy is it to take on and off of the tesla, I still don't quite get how the mechanism works. I want to switch from a Thule XTR which is VERY easy to put on (but doesn't come in a single).

how heavy is your ebike? the bike rack only allow 50lbs. any modification?
Rack can actually carry up to 135 lbs with additional one more eMTB and 1 amish (50+50+35). I only carry max of 2 eMTB which still less than 135.
I love this rack! I have the super-duty with an add-on.... I can transport my bike with others or even carry my father's in-law's e-bike. It's easy on and off and it handles dirt roads...very smart and simple. I am considering a review, but I think there are so many already out there that I may just stick to mountain bike videos.

Hi do you have any issue with using the 1UP hitch bar lock to the OEM Model Y hitch? Does it fit easily inside the tight space?
My hitch is aftermarket and not OEM. Mine doesn't have problem with bar lock.
do you have the oem tow hitch? i have the equip d as well and the hitch lock that came with it doesn't fit
Mine is aftermarket 2 inches hitch. The OEM is not available that time.

My 1-up rack came with only 2 screws total for the bike trays. Did your tray have 2 screws on each side?

Yes, 2 screws each side. One is already bolted with the locknut. Once you unfold the trays, then you put 1 screw for each to lock them.
Is that the factory hitch or an aftermarket?
Aftermarket. See my other video when I installed the aftermarket hitch.
Can you explain how you got the locking hitch pin in? The trailer wiring connector seems to be in the way on my Model Y.
My after market hitch doesn't have wire harness. I'm also not planning to tow on my Y. Just for bike or luggage.

@@Pfremm yes, but it’s not pretty. I bought the Master Lock 1481DAT and used the smaller coupling lock to lock my hitch. It’s quite anemic, but does the job well enough.
Waiting on my 1up equip d to be delivered, ordered the equip d double, having remorse tho.. thinking i maybe should of gotten the super duty v1, this is going on my jeep, I do offroad..and go to dispersed camp sites.... my bike is a filth mess.... every MTB vid I see.. everyones bike is pristine... mine is dusty and dirty.. I see no point in washing it if Im heading to a dusty trail the next day.... Ill just do a once a week cleaning..
just putting it out there.. anyone with a double black super duty wanting a equip d double wanna swap let me know (for socal guys).. I do offroad.. quite a bit.. i would consider a swap.. although i have seen reviews of equip d offroad doing just fine.

My Superduty Single just arrived, and the knob for the rack adjustment is screwed down so tight that I can’t unscrew it to pull up the adjuster bar. Tried WD40 and a wrench. This ever happen to you?? Super frustrating
I have Equip-D model which I believe has different rack adjustment mechanism and I never had issue with it.

@@PinoyDIY so I had a change of heart and emailed 1up, changed my Equip-D to a Super Duty rack. Used the money saved towards a nice bike lock.
@@danielchapter70128 They are both great. Each has its own pros and cons. Although the best bike lock is not leaving your bike on the rack without seeing it. :D

Yes, you can. I even have 2 eMTB on it but it's a bit heavy.

Yes you’re correct, that’s the Equip D model. It has the blue release handle as well as thicker guide rails for smoother ratchet action. Just ordered mine:)☝🏼

does it come with a hitch on model y?
You can order one with hitch (+$1000). Mine is after market cause that time if you pre-order with hitch, it might take a while to get your order.

@@bitcoinandinvesting I believe you can. Just order it online on Tesla and they will schedule you for the installation. Last time I checked, it cost bit more like 1200 something.

Looking for a bike rack for our Model Y. Your video was helpful. I know someone asked a few months ago but now that you’ve probably driven around more how is the effect on the range? Is it noticeable?
Yes there is noticeable dropping range, 210 miles is my real world range. I also don't drive efficiently. 😆
@@PinoyDIY lol! I hear you! So you get 210 with the rack and how is it without the rack? Maybe 250? I think 245-265 is probably my highway range here in flat Florida when traveling around 75mph.

It's separate accessories for 1uo equip-d model lock.
BTW a tip for any footage, especially smooth drone footage, do not alter your shot. Keep the same panning speed, just cut the footage differently if you did. Good job though!
Yeah that's what I'm trying to do. I haven't flown my drone for a long time and running out of light. I hate that jittering panning but too lazy to retake. hahaaha.
Just got my 1UP 2" "Heavy & Super Duty, noted you have a Tazer emtnb, is the rack rated high enough for the weight of your e bike? My Giant 2021 Trance E is 52lbs, and 1UP recommended the higher rated rack. Great video, ripped right through as 1UP is ready to install, clean look, and word is the factory is catching up, shipping 1800 a week (don't quote me!)
Yes. I actually already travelled to Mammoth mountain with 2 emtb, tazer (49 lbs) and giant trance-e (see my other video) and this is on equip-d model. Equip-D is rated up to 135 lbs combined. Super duty should be more.

What if your tires go flat while transporting? Have you tired deflating your tires while the ratchet is locked with tire pressure normal? Thanks
Already happen once and I didn't even realize I have a flat tire after the ride. I just noticed when I got back home and trying to unload my bike, the rear tire was totally flat. So the arm that secures the bike still works on the flat. Not sure if both tires get flat which never happen to me and is hardly possible.

When folded up with no bikes does it scrape while driving? I have seen others comment how close it is and if you run over bumps it will scrape?
I only fold it 45 degrees because the 90 degrees is too close to the trunk door.

It doesn't. It still works fine. Just annoying message sometimes.
I have a Model Y and a Kuat Transfer. It annoys the hell out of me that I can't get into the back without lowering the rack when not transporting a bike. Did you get the extension for the rack? Or is this without? I want to get this rack, especially since it looks like the rear door opens with the rack in the upright position.
I have single + extensions. I mostly bike drive with one bike that's why I decided single rack and just add extension when needed.

Yes, it doesn't hit the bumper but make sure you don't accidentally open the trunk. Or just fold it 45 degrees and you can still open the trunk.

@@PinoyDIY also, when it’s inserted into the receiver, no issues installing the hitch pin lock? The Model Y’s receiver is recessed in a bit more so I’m afraid that the rack will hit the bumper when folded up once it’s pushed in enough to install the hitch pin. Know what I mean?
@@neilmartinez143 I install the pin as far outiside and the rack doesn't hit the bumper. Plenty of space in between. The only thing that that you need to worry is when you accidentally open the trunk door and rack has bike on it or in vertical folded position. I usually fold it on 45 degress position to make sure if the trunk was accidentally open, it won't hit the rack.
How did you install the hitch pin lock?
There is hole on the hitch and the rack. The rack is more of rectangle hole shape so you can adjust the distance. Also hitch pin only serves as security for quick theft, for holding force to the hitch there is a allen crew that you need to tighten on the 1F rack which has ball bearing inside that provide compression and secure the rack from the hitch. It super strong and rigid.

Yes. Only bike rack that I'm willing to add on my Y. 😆. The only thing I heard negative about it is, its always back ordered.
@@PinoyDIY got my eye on the quikr rack. Their backorder is 6 months. Crazy
How did it effect the efficiency?
Don't have much data to compare. I did my first long drive with my Model Y with the bike already and its a climb. I got 76% efficiency on that trip. No range anxiety too cause we have a lot of superchargers here in SoCal.
