Hey, could you start my idea of a hydrogen rescue balloon with items needed and string to float a rescue ballon for those that get lost. It could be already packed or made on the spot. A kite could be used also. Helium won’t make in the field do to technical difficulties.
These could be a extra heavy duty balloon, etc, with 1,000 feet of string, less or more. A quick assembly kite would be great also. A person could also find wind direction and no cardinal points a little easier. Direction to travel is vital.
What I love about your videos is it’s all info. No fluff. Get right to the point. Nice job.
You can not beat perfection! There was a lot of education packed into less than 20 minutes and the bonus of a knife review. Thank you for uploading this one.
I'm a Dirty by Design PKS Scorpion fanboy myself. Works just great. No need to replace it or add to the collection. The trap you created is something I've never seen before. VERY interesting.
My favorite teacher! Thanks for all your knowledge, and for your service! 🇺🇲
Great video. Just the facts, no whining. I started bushcrafting about 4-5 years ago, after roughly 11 years incarcerated. I learned most everything from another channel. Guy turned out to be something different then I thought. I enjoy your straight forward, no nonsense style and have learned a lot here as well. Thank you. Stay safe bro.🙏🇺🇲🙏🇺🇲
This was one of your more cooler videos. I have never seen this ''A" Trap before.
Keeping it simple and basic with respect and repetition makes learning easy. And having one additional aspect to add keeps the critics guessing. Love your work!❤
Most review videos are just reading the specs and maybe using the product for something very basic. But what I LOVED about this video is that you included so much concise, no-nonsense educational content in the process of trying out the knife. It's a nice looking knife, I was looking at it on the SRO website last night. I can't afford it right now, but it's on my wishlist now that I see how well it performed in your video. If your future review videos follow the same structure of including so much truly educational content I will watch them even if I'm not interested in the product. Great job Andrew, keep up the great work putting out awesome videos!
Always new and reliable information…
I can always tell when someone is an expert in their field…
They make it look easy…
I am amazed at your expertise in your field…
And also your gift of teaching..
Thank you so much for all you do to share these important survival techniques (both basic and advanced)…
Have a safe and blessed week🙏🏻😍
Just purchased the skinner only took about one week to get to the UK there definitely worth it waiting for the mountaineer to be stocked its funny you start with 1095 then go exotic then you realise with the right heat treat 1095 is all i ever needed
Wooo! Thanks, Andrew!! Appreciate all you do!
PKS once sold the blade only and allowed you to put scales on. It was a fun project at a bargain price.
Thank you the great demonstrations of what can be done with a quailty knife
You really put that knife through its paces. Great video
Funny how well that bright orange blends in with the dry brush. A blue cloth would be handy to go with it.
Looks like a quite capable tool , thanks for the demo .
Andrew is the best. If You want the know how you’d be hard pressed to find a better instructor ANYWHERE! He’s not just a TH-cam teacher but a highly skilled “real life professional”
Thanks for your time and information Andrew.
Beautiful knife. I by far prefer a machete, kukri, or shovel. Much more versatile.
It is bulkier, tho. Thus, if I need to be light, either a neck knife, or a multitool will do.
the Crunch multitool features a vise grip, which can hold any of several types of saw blade, I often carry the Cold Steel shovel, minus its handle, cause in an hour, I can make whatever handle I need for it. See my post above for the mods that I've done to the Crunch.
@user-ci2mn1oy3w I love the CS shovel ! Use it in like half of my videos 😆
Well I must say that I'm sorta surprised that there's no comments critical of the use
of 1095 steel, and that the
knife will need an occasional
touch up.
Most everybody is bragging
about the "super steels"
Looks to be an adequate knife
to me, although I prefer a
flat grind
Thanks for the video
Great video, Andrew! 👍🏻✌🏻 A knive review combined with Survival Training techniques. Great content! Thx a lot and greetings from Germany 🙋🏻♂️
It looks like the "Basic Buschraft" or "PLSK1" reborn.
I've had both. I passed the PLSK1 to someone who could use it because I was stuck on my BHK Scout, but I do have the PKS Basic Bushcraft still and that's not ever going to be passed on to anyone (except my grandson). It's one of the never-sell knives in my stable. It's perfect in so many ways.
Excellent video as always. You get better and better as a teacher/instructor. Keep it up!
That looks like a great knife. I like the curve that the knife has. Thanks for all the knife skills that you demonstrated.
Outstanding job my friend
Thats a nice knife. Good demo vid. Thank you for shareing that with us all.
Great knife it is definitely my one tool option
Great gear review. Learning the techniques while putting the tool to task. 2fer!!
best outdoor instruction videos on the internet ! great video !!
Best down and dirty content in all of TH-cam
I would bet my life on SRO knives for survival. A question: when hammering the butt since the tang is flush, do the scales loosen or break?
Saw this on the website and have been thinking about picking one up
I have one of the originals made by Dan Coppen when he and LT Wright were still together. Its one helluva blade and been my go to for nearly 20 years.
You won me over on this knife
Great video! Thanks
If you're excited about it, so am I. Per usual, thank you much.
Love the store, good price on a reasonably supplied IFAK.
I wondered what the big deal was and now I do. Nice knife and great review!
Great demo and review
Last knife I bought before learning how to make my own. This is an excellent tool , a bit on the heavier side which makes it a great all around knife. Probably on of the best deals out there.
Yeah, you only really get what you truly want when you make it yourself, and with time its actually better too.
I have a habilis srt and a tops viper scout, fantastic combo for my needs. Oh and a mora 511 as a backup.
Love my Viper Scout!
@@mikewashington-se6qw same here, I have never found a better fitting knife in the hand. The handle is perfect for me and I keep it razor sharp, do you have a leather sheath?
You got me sold, lol. Not that I need another bushcraft knife. But this does look rugged and dependable. I like the Scandi grind too.😎🇺🇸💪
Hello. I bought my PKS Survival knife 4 years ago, as of yesterday, to replace my PLSK1 (Dave Canterbury and Battle Horse Knives collaboration knife) as my EDC belt knife. There's nothing wrong with the PLSK1. I just want to make sure that it is in amazing shape when it gets passed down. I have definitely put the Survival knife through some rough stuff and it has performed every task I need it to. The only issue I've had was last summer when the micarta handle scales came loose. Expecting to hear that it wasn't covered under the warranty, I emailed them anyway. The next morning I received a reply and all they asked for was a couple of close up photos showing the issue. After sending them that, I received an email return slip to ship it to them to get fixed. They not only fixed the handle, but they touched up the edge and the 90 degree spine. I currently own 4 knives from Dave and couldn't be happier with them.
Well put together and informative. Thanks!
Thanks Andrew. I always appreciate your videos. Your content shows very interesting and relevant uses for equipment.
The PKS knives are good. Scary sharp. I used my Scorpion XL last week to carve notches in a try stick and figure 4 trigger. Those knives do the job. That PKS survival knife should be an excellent one as well. Nice demo, Major. Bravo Zulu.
Loved this video! Thanks
Ooooh that’s nice I need one in my life!
Love your videos and information Sir. Been watching your for about a year. We think your one of the best out there.
Excellent video and review. Thanks Andrew.
Thanks Andrew for all the work and dedication. Always grateful. Thank you. LW
Thank you for the great review and tips on usage. As always Andrew your vids are top notch and much appreciated.
Xlnt review Andrew,Your Skills & Prowess make this knife scream like a Banshee,One & Done! Cheers!
Good tutorial as always Col.
I'm buying one this spring. It's just what I was looking for !
Another outstanding video
Cutting lots of wood with this.
TBH after my time in the northwoods....I would be looking at the effect of the greenwood sap on the blade.
Good basic knife.
A task I have taught so many scouts in the late 80s.
Clean the knife...Clean the knife.
A "sappie",dirty, or bloody, etc knife left that way is time wasted later.
Great video.
Awesome knife and skills! Thanks very much Andrew
Sir, T Y again for a thoughtful essay. I like the lanyard loop & a snug but open tunnel loop sheath. I would consider some kind of a holed ball threaded onto the short lanyard to facilitate grasping the handle quickly. Beware of catching the loop on something & losing the knife, though. This knife is definitely mostly a purely survival one, & not a dedicated combat weapon. Very good as a backup as a cutting & splitting tool to a tomahawk, axe, or hatchet. Also good as an all-around primary survival knife for traveling light without chopping tools. For a combat knife I generally prefer a 6 1/2 inch double-edged blade, or a long Bowie or Kukri, all with some sort of cross guard. Bowies have doubled as a rifle pit shovels.
Absolutely great knife! Great video!
Nice knife. Your demonstration skills are a great performance test for any tool, this video is an excellent proof of performance. Thanks!
I ask the question why wouldn't you endorse a product for the company you work for? It's a poor frog that won't croak for its own pond. Great content showing the ability of a single knife to do multifunction.
I believe he is an instructor for the pathfinder school.......
Wow! Now that’s a comprehensive product review! I have the PKS Kephart and I love it!
Hi Andrew , greetings from Australia, thank you for your time to make this video. That knife looks like the highlander bhk, except a bit smaller, it looks a great knife, skills are the main things,
Great video with lots of essential skills packed in, thanks!
Nice one! Tons of knowledge in your videos. Appreciate your work.
Totally awesome knife , I gotta have one.
Well done. Practical review with educational content.
As a Shawn Kelly fan (Corporals Corner), and one of Dave's fans, I've been sold on this knife for a long time. I still don't have one, but I want one, and this vid is just another great testament to all it can do.
Another phenomenal demonstration of your skills and the PKS. Well done.
Great review, definitely want the knife
Loved bushcraft class, science class and woodworking class. Another superb video sir!
Ps also physics class and home economics!😊. Good knife review as well.
Excellent videos! I watched all the videos on the channel. The topics you convey on the channel are very interesting. Especially everything related to survival.and bushcraft
Great training video Major. Excellent content.
Our era had some of the best infomercials
We are the last before Christ's return..we will see a planetary alignment not seen since 79 AD. God bless. May God keep you and yours. I ask this though Christ our Lord. The King of kings and Lord of lords. Canned foods are safe to eat in nuke future. Ww3 in one month btw
Great video
Спасибо!!!
Thanks, Andrew. Another informative video. I bought one of their mountaineer knives similar to yours and like it very much. The trap was a new variation for me.👍
Great job Andrew now I want 1
Could u do a video of the shadow stick method? Sorry if u already covered this but the way u explain things really help me understand. I understand the basics of the shadow stick but feel like you can help me understand it better
Great video.
Awesome job sir
Great 👍
that netting needle is for largish nets, usually needle width is 1/4 to 2/5 of mesh to allow room for the line and moving the needle easily, no epert but was taught by experts, grandfather was fisherman with several friends/colleagues and we spent many rainy/stormy/frozen days with them mending nets.. so I have some experience.
As someone who owns this knife in my extensive collection I would rate it as a B. Not the most comfortable in my hands also prone to rust . Solid video and demonstrations as usual hooah!
Just got back this morning from an overnighter with my son. Kephart XL did great!
Thanks Major. Great knife, great school. Bravo Zulu 👍
another great video💪👍
Canadian Ace.
Love that. 12:39
British Columbia
Great video Andrew :-)
I like it very PLSK1 -Ish ! Want one Thank You Major outstanding !
I’ve been wanting to get a PKS was looking at the mountain lion which is similar blade length but this is probably better suited. I also have the Jeff White knives bush knife which was from selfrelianceoutfitters. Love the heavy steel with the nice wooden handles.
I have a couple of Jeff white knives, great looking capable knives. I actually made a copy of the bush knife myself which doesn't look to dissimilar to this one.
Good stuff!
OUSTANDING VIDEO AND KNIFE ! CHEERS FROM MONTREAL , QUEBEC
Sharpening steel is a must…
Great Demonstration as usual Andrew! RLTW!
An unashamed 'plug' for that specific knife .. one knife out of others out there that will perform as well.
But then, if one likes the product, it does what it is supposed to do, the price is acceptable, then why not?
An unashamed plug acting as 'front man' for some very informative and well-presented outdoor skills instruction.
Well done!
Sorry, I am a Jacklore Classic kind of guy, but this knife can do the job and that is important! Nice video!
Great video buddy
👍👍
