Dude I jus got a 2000 Honda Accord v6 and it’s leaking from front and rear valve cover I’m so glad I found your video I already have my gaskets doing valve and coil seals
Thank you for explaining everything Mr Bundy I got it now I got to do mine on my 2001 Acura CL but you did a great explanation thank you thank you so much appreciate it
My best method was a flathead and the valve cover facing straight down and hitting it with some force like pliers since I didn’t have a hammer, a good couple hits and the gaskets came out ez
I wonder if this trick can be used to clean the EGR passageway, both in the upper intake manifold and the one going towards the EGR valve without having to remove everything from the car.
@@bundysgarage Yeah, I'm helping a friend out with this today. He told me, "2003," when his car is actually a, "2002," so I spent last night learning the wrong car. ugh. Thank goodness you have this vid up. So happy I can avoid undoing all the snorkel's end of tubes.
Does the variable timing valves go bad if so does it make it misfire? And can you change the bad variable valve without taking off the head? Thanks for the valve cover adjustment.
Buddy, my spark plug cylinder oring gaskets are hard as rocks and they won’t come out. I’m using my picks and now I’ve put the valve cover in the freezer to try and get them out. Any suggestions if this doesn’t work?
As it turned out the old spark Plug well gaskets from my prior purchase had metal rings in them. It was confusing because the new ones were just solid rubber. I had to use a flat screwdriver to knock them out, then everything became easy. You have to go in from the top side of the hole and then catch the lip of the ring and hit the screwdriver with a hammer with a good tap to know out the metal ring. Then the cleaning was easy also.
I also must have raised the plenum too high because I cracked the large hose coming off the air filter housing. My car would drop idle when the car warmed up. It took me a a couple of Saturday’s to finally figure out the problem. Be careful when using this technique.
Put grease on the outside of them as well as in the slots on the valve cover. Also out the seals in the freezer for 12 hours to shrink them down a little to help get them in especially if they are aftermarket seals and it from Honda
BundysGarage thanx bro I just picked up 2002 accord v6 guy was about to junk it i offer him 300 and he took it so I been playing with it so far I got about 400 in too it including changing the tranny fluid 2 times (it's getting better lucas and valvolin ) brakes ,rear hubs and bearings ,17 dollar Walmart bt radio lol ...good video I will probably do those VC in 2 weeks .thanx again
Thanks for watching. I have a lot of videos for your car. Great place to get parts if you can wait a little is Rockauto.com. You have a great car there, just take of your engine and she will take care of you.
Hey man great video! Has helped me through the whole replacement. The only question I have is when putting head gasket cover back on do you need a torque wrench or can you use the same socket wrench you used to take it off?
Thanks for watching. I just use the same ratchet and socket and stop when the bolts bottom out. There is a torque spec of like 7 foot pounds but find it too weak and the valve cover gasket will start leaking oil after a few hundred miles.
Fel Pro work great on Chevrolet motors, but not so good for Honda. Use only Honda parts from the dealer when working on a Honda. You will have a better result.
NICE :) I have a 2006 Acura RL. and I love it. as you know it has a J35 i believe.. i have to say its a Amazing car.. i realy think they could of tuned it alittle more and get more HP out of it.. but nun the less I love my Kura i mean my AKura lol thanks Love the vids keep it up :) ciao
Thanks man saved me time did it at work took about 30-45 min I'm a rookie
It’s not hard at all! Glad it helped you out!

Glad it’s working out for you. I have tons of videos on the Honda V6 J Series. Lots of videos to help you save money and keep your car on the road.
Come and do mine please.
Thank you for explaining everything Mr Bundy I got it now I got to do mine on my 2001 Acura CL but you did a great explanation thank you thank you so much appreciate it
It's not that hard to do, if you can change oil, you can do this.
I love short cuts. Thanks!
Thank you thank you so much save me a lot of trouble I have an Acura and I just got it great job
Great video! I’ll be using this to hopefully rid of oil dripping onto cat converter and exhaust
Does it take a day or two to burn off oil? I drove after replacing tube seals, grommets, and valve gasket and still had smoke off cat.
awesome, do you have a way to get a stuck, coil pack robber boot out of the oil tube?
My best method was a flathead and the valve cover facing straight down and hitting it with some force like pliers since I didn’t have a hammer, a good couple hits and the gaskets came out ez
Thank you! You answer my question on the short bolt valve cover gasket.

Very helpful! Thank you, Bundy!
Your welcome! Glad it helped you out. 👍🏻

Superb job and really explained everything super easy. Thanks!!!!
You are a GOD SEND
Thanks man!

I'm hoping Fel Pro is still as reliable as they were 25 years ago.

Yep we’ve all faces that, PITA. Here is a video on how to get them out, hope it helps you: th-cam.com/video/fcNofhExmZE/w-d-xo.html
I’ll try this, thanks Buddy!!
As it turned out the old spark

So not worried about intake manifold air leaks by not changing the gasket after removing the air intake?
This video helped me. Thank you.
thanks for uploading this video is very good
скоро буду менять ,спасибо ,помог)) HONDA SABER J25A
Do you replace the manifold gasket on top or not and how do you change the one in the back the same way in a 2000 Honda Accord
Do you need to drain the oil first and do you have a video for the rear one?
Would this work for a 2001 acura cl-type s? I have having oil in my spark plug valves
you left out the manifold tight ning order to replace everything ?
Thanks You
Good job
thanks for the video, what is the cost you would hire someone to replace both the valve cover gaskets and the oil tubes seal for the car?
Great video thanks bro
Thank you, it was a great video clip!!
Was the rear one was as easy as this one? Thanks for the wood shelf idea.
+12vgs8606 yes it was, disconnect the vacuum lines and intake air temp sensor on the back of the intake but pretty much the same thing.
Any tips for my spark plugs tubes to slide in easier im having a hard time

Thanks
Your welcome
I didn't see the link for the oil tube seal cover replacement. Do you have that?
Honda part number for the oil tube seals: 12342-RYE-004 You could try getting them from Amazon or Beck Arnley is a great brand to use as well.
Do you have to use gasket glue or it not necessary?!? Thanks
Negative, not on this year, make, and model V6 engine. On some of the 4 cylinder engines yes you do.

Last question do I need the mainfold gasket ?
If its ripped or torn yes you do. Otherwise you can reuse it.
Great stuff as usual Bundy! Do you have the Honda part numbers for the oil tube seals?
Honda PN 12342-RYE-004
Anyone catch the 3.5? Those accords don't come 3.5.
I thought the exact same thing. Maybe the Accord he’s working on is a later year?
They don't but you can head swap. He can also be working on a low ass odyssey
About how long should this take on a 1999 acura cl? Is the process pretty much the same?
Yes exactly the same. Couple of hours if the oil tube seals are a pain

2000??? Mine came with a 3.0 lol thanks for the video very helpful
So did mine. The 3.5 has a longer stroke but otherwise same engine as 3.0.
Exactly the same!
Great video. What are the torque specs on the valve cover bolts😊😊😊😊
Like 8.5 foot pounds.
Just do what the Germans do, good-n-tight
@4:18 don't you mean to say the "spark plug tube seals"?
Thank you sir
+Antonio Ricks half it helped you and out and thank you for subscribing.
Fel pro should make these with the same blue gasket material that they use for small block Chev vlv cover and oil pan reusable gaskets.
JS.
Fel Pro work great on Chevrolet motors, but not so good for Honda.
Use only Honda parts from the dealer when working on a Honda. You will have a better result.
Do the spark plugs need to be removed?
Negative
BundysGarage thanks for the reply and upload 👍🏽
👍
How much does the gasket costs?
Did you delete the vid whith the beck arnley gaskets?
+rarerepair Frits I'm not sure which video you are talking about?
Do you need to drain your oil before removing my valve cover gasket. I have a 2000 3.0 Jseries V6 Honda Accord with 289,650
It will be my 1st time ever doing my own valve cover gasket so any help would be appropriated
No you do not need to drain the oil. Just make sure you freeze the oil tube seals so they go on a lot easier.
not to be picky but according to Wikipedia the 2000 Accord doesn't have the 3.5L it's got the 3.0L
So I believe Honda gave you free stuff because you promote the oem parts. Nice video but not all none oem parts are bad

+Ish McCormick thank you
I have a 3 littler in a 99, would that still be the same?
Yes exactly the same
@@bundysgarage awesome, thanks
what gasket did you use that didnt work too well?
+Steven Norwood DNJ gasket
Thank you, would You recommend Felpro? They're allot lower priced then honda
+Steven Norwood yes Fel Pro is a good gasket
Steven Norwood *a lot *than
I’ll tell you a hack. Change the plug tube seals why you have it apart.
Is that a sohc or dohc?
SOHC
@@bundysgaragewrong engine size
U were supposed to take bolts of in sequence per specs
+kenneth sanchez no you don't
BundysGarage it says it could warp but good video I need to do this to a 05 tl p0430 keeps coded up and cats been replaced
Think that would fix problem??
Don't think it was a felpro tho....
Is that a 3.5 manifold? Or just a 3.5 cover on a 3.0? Haha
I have a 3.0 v6 and it doesnt look that at all. So it is probably the 3.5 engine
I was thinking the same because I thought highest one was 3.0
I sent you a PM
That is about a useless video as I have seen. Smh.
