I laughed when you said you were going to daily drive thar truck until it craps out......prepare for a long haul my friend. That truck will be going while you qualify for Social Security
I used to daily drive a lifted 7.3 on 35s with a 4 inch lift. I’m from SA too, but it got stolen, now I have a 2012 5.3 Silverado, it sits on 32s with a 3 inch level kit. I want another 7.3 it has better mpg than my Silverado gets and it had bigger tires, I had a turbo and a tune for that 7.3 too so it was also a good bit quicker and could pull a hell of a lot better. I miss that thing. I want to go back to having a diesel you just can’t compare when it comes to towing.
It cost me $220 to fill my one in Australia and cost $7,000 for my wheels and tire . My one is the only crew cab 6 speed stick and I love it. Every mod on engine KC 300x ebpv delete up pipes bigger injectors and has never let me down. I recommend the .84 turbo housing for tht manual.
Yes .84 for for manual . Looking back I should have done that .....I have the 1.0 ar and she dosent eat intill 2750 almost 3000 rpms ...but after it does ...watch out 🤣🤠💪🙏🚀
Nice ride and info on the handeling and maintenance. I agree it's important to keep up with the basic service that you do yourself like I do too. Just got a battery and did an oil change. Had to get it done before the cold winter got here. Your truck looks awesome. The Dodge powerwagon shortbed we had with the 360 engine had alot of play in the steering when driving it too. Great video bro!
If you wanted a lift on the front end I got 2 2 inch by I want to say 6 inch solid steel blocks and I shoved it between the leafspring and the axle to give it the front and left because I put heavier springs in the rear. and with the blocks you’re going to have to drill a hole and thread it put a bolt in it with some Loctite to keep it in there because there are little studs either on the leafspring of the axle that have to lock together so that you don’t need the extra leaf spring! And as far as the steering and the starter get a redhead steering gear box and a high output starter. It really improves the ride quality.
I have a saweet Ford F-350 with the V-10 Triton. It had a huge lift and huge tires too. I love driving that thing. But my daily driver is my Kia Sportage. I just don’t like wasting the gas, or the money for the gas.
Definitely shouldn’t have to replace the battery’s every two years. May have other issues causing that. And I would definitely change oil filters every time you change the oil. Filters are only $15 bucks and will definitely help in the long run.
I live in northern va and on the verge of buying a 2001 7.3 with 250k miles for 15k, is that a good deal? No leaks everything is nice, smooth ride. Please lmk oh and it’s a lariat dually
Love the content my man and I’ve seen you drive around I believe the 1604/helotes area (I could be wrong) but I have a lot of similar issues when it comes to my 6.0 especially the steering wheel slop haha.
I’ve got one in the shed with new tires, never failed me, always runs, to expensive to drive, I have an ugly Honda ridgeline that also got as many miles as my daily driver, much cheaper
Don't have to replace your battery's that often yo you got other issues and I love Texas weather lived there for 3 years I'm from Michigan where it gets negative freezing temps for months I havnt changed my battery's in 7 years lol
I can't believe you're bitching about the steering on a 400,000 plus mileage vehicle. Drive any other vehicle that has that many miles on it and you're going to find the same thing. As for being expensive to fill up - that is going to be expensive no matter what you diesel pickup you drive. As for parking and maneuverability, what are you comparing it to - a Honda Civic? Any big pickup is going to be like that. Your batteries should be lasting longer than 2 years - if anyone is changing them that often, they're either have a charging issue, doing something stupid like leaving the key on, or buying really cheap batteries. you complain that the ride is too rough, but then admit that you added a leaf to the front. That's your fault not the fault of the 7.3. If you're going to critique a 7.3 then critique the engine - if you're going to critique the whole truck then say so in the title. Very disappointed in the content of this video.
You're really taking this video to seriously. Comes off very hurt and weak. I'm disappointed in your comment. When people talk about a 5.9 cummins the rest of the truck usually ends up in the conversation to.
I have one 7.3 year 2000 with 350K miles
the reason i keep it is reliability and I can do the maintenance by myself like old days.
I laughed when you said you were going to daily drive thar truck until it craps out......prepare for a long haul my friend. That truck will be going while you qualify for Social Security
So these 7.3s are damn near bulletproof
It's the only Diesel many contractors are still running 25 years later. Thats how reliable they are.@@timmunson7699

Kind of wild but I lived in that complex and I've seen your truck! Ended up moving to Alaska. Small world

Steering gear box issue is an easy fix. Could also be track bar bushings. After i replaced mine wheel is tight and responsive.
6.49$ here in CA for a gallon is diesel, that’s 194.70 to fill up today July 2022
3.79 in cape cod MA

I drive one every day what's the big deal and I live where it gets 30 below every winter and I'm at 415 000 miles...
How is it on the highway?
How much you spend total for diesel a month?
Change out your knuckles ala spindles in the front and new tie rod ends and b perfect steering don’t do one without the other
Its like freedom all i hear are eagles and hulk hogans theme song
Man. I would love to pay $3 per gallon for diesel. Where I live it's usually around $3.70 per gallon or so.
Yeah same it just went up to 3.5
Before Biden diesel was 1.95 where I live.
Hehe cry’s in 4.50$ as a 17 year old kid 😭
It's 4.80-4.90 now where I live since I posted this comment originally
@@professionalredneck7920 I don’t think you live to far from me I’m near Austin and in a small town, feels bad man 😭
Looking to buy one for my first truck any tips I should know while looking and any idea how to tune more power without getting worse mileage

Did u say 400k+ miles?
What's your mpg though how much do you fill up a week. I drive a 1500 ram with 37s and a 7in lift and have to fill up every week
i have a ton of videos breaking down my mpg but i get on a good week 15 mpg and i fill up every 2 weeks
I am looking at a 2000 7.3 f350 to trade for is it normal for oil to be dripping down from the oil filter I think it's not normal but I'm not sure
@52218244 the filters on diesel have to be basically overtightened or they will leak
Don't have to replace your battery's that often yo you got other issues and I love Texas weather lived there for 3 years I'm from Michigan where it gets negative freezing temps for months I havnt changed my battery's in 7 years lol
Just put thirty gallons in mine in Oregon and it cost $150
80$-90$ to fill fuck that's what it cost to fill my mazda 3
$80-$90 to fill??
My raptor costs me like $130 to fill
I wouldn't recommend driving with your eyes closed. 😊
be like 220$ to fill in B.C.
Cold hit an thrown 1500 bucks at mine🤦
I feel that
Yessir but it's all worth the whistle 😂
Why’s my 7.3 only getting 4mpg
Bad injectors probably.
